I didn't realise this was at the lower ground of the Emporium but I got there in the end and did not regret. I sampled some of their food at a event and I just had to go there again. As a Vietnamese I can say that their food is fresh, authentic and soo delicious! The staff are great as well! Grab a banh mi as well to take away or awesomely packaged take away pho! Un-pho-gettable experience! Puntended.

Pho Bo Hanoi, fried tofu and mushroom roll, nem nuong rice paper roll with nuoc mam dipping sauce, and Vietnamese ice coffees

Love that this is authentic eats. Their nuoc mam sauce is solid and they don't tone it down at all. I know for sure I'll keep coming back here whenever I'm at emporium most likely because of their rice paper rolls. It's so refreshing to see their assortment is not like the rest you see about and yet they just work - the nem nuong skewer rice paper roll is omg! Another plus is that despite being pre made rolls they don't have that severely dried up crispiness to it that the rice paper is dangerously prone to. Pho broth is a touch on the sweet side and a touch heavy on the star anise/cinnamon, but then that's what all the condiments are for!

Best vietnamese fast food in Melbourne hands down. Always fresh, delicious and cheap. The pho is so good in its flavors but the portion is huge so make sure you're hungry!! My go-to choice for lunch is the lemongrass chicken bun but today I had the fried chicken bahn mi and oh dear lord it's freaking amazing. Yummm!!!!

phò-nomenal take away

This place is phò-nomenal (ahhh pun! Im sorry but i had to) This place is awesome! Very tricky to find, i was walking laps around the food court until i googled it. Lower ground level of emporium - for those lost. Fast, friendly and fresh service. Im impressed at the packaging used for takeaways, can carry a pho back to my desk or home without burning my hands or losing half. Rice noodles are fresh and cooked perfectly. Not a big ball of mushy noodles. Beanshoots, mint and chili are so fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Broth is full of flavor. Chicken and rare beef are premium meat not dodgy cheap bits. Only critic I have is the take away spoon, would be better with a soup spoon and not a small teaspoon. Love it! Can't wait to be back!

The rice paper rolls are on display of it makes your decision making process any easier!

If you're a fellow rice paper roll fan and looking for somewhere that has worthy fare, you can stop looking. Pho Nom is the bomb! A windowed cabinet will show you all of the tasty morsels on offer, or just choose your favourite from the menu. You know how you can go to some places and they'll charge up to $3 for a roll that isn't much bigger than your thumb? That is definitely not the case here! Whilst they are all over the $3 mark ($3.20 for the vege option and up to $3.80 for the fancier salmon, crispy pork, etc type) they are huge - double the size of other similar offerings around town. You get your option of sauces to accompany each roll and should you choose to dine in, there are other condiments on offer on all the tables including the all important Sriracha! I should mention the other menu offerings as well such as banh mi and pho - which going from the empty bowls being left by diners, must be similarly delicious. I look forward to testing this theory out on what is sure to be many return visits!

Really tasty Pho Soup ..On my own having a glass of BYO Chardonnay. Small dining area but so Vietnam from my recent experience.Friendly service. Don't expect a wine glass but I am content.

Spring rolls and a sugar cane juice

Pho Nom in emporium is an oasis in food court food choices. It will never be your favourite local Vietnamese pho place but it is consistently good and that counts for a lot in my book. The spring rolls are always crispy and it is one of the only places in the city that I can find which sells sugarcane juice. Service is quick and it is always clean. I find myself heading here for a spring roll and sugarcane juice nearly every time I head out to the city!

Pho Bo Saigon

Favourite lunch spot and quite crowded during lunch hours. I can't recall how many bowls of pho I've had here. My all time favourite will be pho nom Saigon with plenty of fresh chillies and basil.

I had only ever had Pho once before in my life, and it was nothing to write home about. I just thought maybe I wasn't a Pho type of person. This is before I tried Pho Nom. My partner loves Pho so while we were in Melbourne he was keen to try a good Pho. This place came up with stellar reviews so we gave it a go. I can now say that I don't even know what I ate before this Pho, because this Pho was delicious! The broth itself was so flavorsome and everything was fresh. I finished this dish quickly! I think it's safe to say that I am actually a Pho person now, I had just never experienced a good one. Thank you Pho Nom!

PhoNomenal! Mekong, no more!?…read more was here for an early dinner before heading down to south yarra for CMYE. this is my first time here, trying only their pho and they have won me over. could it be the trek in winter that made me hungry?;) if you get past closing their tricky glass door, their typically basic pho shop set up will slowly warm you up. hit their free flow hot tea for a quicker thaw. menu is pictorialized, so just point and shoot your order(s). do beware when it comes to sizes, they come in S,M,L but the staff seems to only offer medium or large ones. for me, the medium size combination pho at A$10, was way more than enough! so if you are planning to squeeze into your wedding dress for a photo shoot, do ask them for a small portion instead. the wait was only made agonizing because they do not offer wifi:( but the fact of the matter is, you will soon be presented with fresh garnishes followed in tow by their piping, yet not overly hot bowl of pho goodness. the trick is to add in all the fresh garnishes, if you like them, crunchy bean sprouts, fragrant sweet thai basil and a squeeze of tart lemon, as much as i do. quickly toss up so the heat transfers to the garnishes without overcooking them and yet brings the broth down to a desirable slurping temperature whilst enhancing the depth of the dish. then add the usual suspects like hosin, sriracha and fish sauces and chilli oil for the complex trained palate. another round of gentle mixing and you are ready to reap what you sowed. all the different cuts of beef in their combination pho were exquisitely cooked and offered a marvelous mix of texture and flavour. slurping them silky, slippery rice noodles was a breeze and delight. The genius of a move of keeping my black winter pea coat on, also prevented any unwanted visible splash spots! Service was neither bad nor good. They let their pho do the talking and boy did it speak to me in volumes! It is definitely a 5 star pho but i'll reserve that fifth for after I try their other dishes. p.s. can you please open an outlet in SG!?;-)

This place deserves a standing phovation! I was on a Great Ocean Road tour and it was supposed to…read morebe back in the city at 9pm. Due to some delays, we didn't make it back into the city until close to 10pm. I had phoned ahead to see if they would still be open and they said "Yes." When I saw the time closing in on 10pm, I called them again and explained my situation. They were very friendly and told me to come on and not to worry. They are staying open for me. I could not believe this. When I walked up to the restaurant, they had the "We are closed" sign on the door but had the door unlocked for me. They let me sit down and immediately brought out my warm tea and large bowl of pho that I had pre-ordered. After walking outside all day and being a bit chilly, nothing better to warm you up than a steaming bowl of pho. The broth was tasty which is the most important factor when eating pho and i liked the thick flat noodles as well. They didn't skimp on one thing. My bowl was packed with thinly sliced rare beef and vietnamese beef balls. I used all the fresh condiments they gave me and went to town. I use tons of lime in my pho but it's because I am a huge lover of lime. A place that will not only stay open for you but let you enjoy your meal and give you a big bowl of pho with all the fixings is a place I would keep coming back too. Thank you for providing me my last supper in Melbourne. I know where to tell my friends to go when they visit and I definitely know where to go when I return.
