Found great reviews for this Vietnamese restaurant online. The employees were super friendly, and took their time explaining the menu and let us taste each of their 4 pho broths. Decided to the Peanut Pho and adding the Sambal sauce was really tasty. Affordable prices for a regular size bowl. Their pho is also Halal. Ambiance was also very cosy and welcoming! Would definitely come here again! read more

This set up was interesting. They had 4 different broths and they make you pick the broth at register then you follow the line like you're at subway. The broth itself is not the best I've had and I picked the traditional one. I followed the "subway" line of fixings. The overall soup was warm and not hot like I'm used to, which is usually why people like pho on cooler days. The broth wasn't very flavorful. All in all, cool concept but I don't think it works for pho. read more

amazing food, they let you try the broth before ordering. service was great the people are really nice. open concept area such a vibe. read more

Pho Daddy - chicken pho with the coconut sautee broth - Vietnamese Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

Had to come to CALGARY from Florida just to try some halal pho worth every penny. The broths are extremely flavorful and I can drink it just by itself. It's super quick and filling even for a regular bowl. There's also 2 ways to enter and leave which was a little confusing but you'll figure it out. The premium broth with chicken was also really good read more

Pho Daddy - Halal beef brisket pho with traditional broth - Vietnamese Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

Semi awkward external staircase to climb, then entry by way of a manual sliding door. That's a bad start. Counter service. Tip prompts when paying. Weird menu: They have 'traditional' and 'premium' broth for a higher price point. In other words, their 'traditional' is second class. I ordered a chicken peanut sate. Cost $20. It was delivered on a tray with out the usual garnishes side dish. The 'large' bowl was filled to about an inch from the rim. Perhaps they knew my table was sloped and they were building in an allowance. Unbelievable. Watery broth, Light on veg, light on flavour, zero creaminess. The chicken was machine cut in very thin slices. No free water was offered; nor did I see any sign of it being available. There was a self service cooler full of drinks to buy. It was my first ever purely bad pho experience. Been to perhaps 40-50 pho places in Canada and around the world, including the length of Vietnam; all of them significantly better than Pho Daddy. Best to pho get about this place. read more

Best Pho in Calgary! Been living here 3 months and I finally stumbled across this gem. If you like pho, you will love it here. Try all the different broths. read more

normally when I go to Pho daddy the atmosphere is a joyful one, and the soup is amazing. but when I went today, the atmosphere gave a get what you want and get out. The taste of the soup is different as well. Everything today at pho daddy was different. We will NOT be going back again. Today has recked it for us. read more

Awesome food, but highly recommend to go in and eat. Using delivery services the broth cools too much. Great staff on site. Noise is decent, but of course, over lunch is louder. read more

I love trying halal restaurants that aren't arab or pakistani because I eat those dishes easily at home. That being said I only eat Zabiha halal so I can't compare this place to the best pho someone else may have but I can say that it was such a great meal. The meat was yummy. I went with my partner and his sister. We eat got something slight different. We each loved ours. (I liked my regular beef the most.) My partner is a Calgary resident and I'm a California resident and all I can say is I've been craving this place for two months, can't wait to go back when I am back in the area. read more

We were told about this place by someone from Edmonton. All their meats are halal. Seriously wow. You make your own and I had chicken. It was super delicious. This was my first time having pho so I have nothing to compare it with but omg I loved it. And they make their own broth right there. So healthy. I was so impressed. And I liked the sitting area too. It's not a formal restaurant, but more like subway. Overall, great food and great experience. read more

Pho Daddy - a bowl of soup with chopsticks - Vietnamese Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

Excellent service...very friendly ladies at the front. They gave us samples of their traditional and premium pho soup which helped us decide our soup base. Our family had a combination of different pho soups. Great to the last drop! We will definitely be back! read more

Been here three times. The first time was amazingly delicious, the second time it was barely edible, the third time was okay. Ordered the same dish all 3 times. All ingredients were fresh. The first time I asked for less noodles and they did exactly that. Sauces on the side. The second time, I asked for less noodles and the guy behind the counter added the sauce into EXTRA NOODLES. I told him that I wanted less noodles not more and he said that he can't change it because he "already added the sauce". I ate a few bites and left it there. The flavour was great the first time, terrible the second time, and okay the third time. That's the problem - I'm not confident that they can be consistently amazing and veer wildly into terrible. It really is too bad that the second time we went the guy behind the counter was an idiot of the highest order. Unsure if I'll go again. read more

Another reviewer said it first, but I'll second it - this place is like Chipotle where you can pick and customize your toppings. They only have one type of beef (I saw some chicken but didn't try it) but the one that they have cooks perfectly in the hot broth. The service was friendly, broth hot and noodles well cooked. I will def be back for more. The spring rolls were just decent, so whether or not I get those again will be a game time decision. One of my favorite parts was the actually restaurant itself and how the entire front was open. I'm glad I checked this place out before it got too cold and when I assume they'll close the front door. read more

Pho Daddy - Savory broth and "create your own" type setup. Definitely recommend you check it out. - Vietnamese Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

So think of bad pho, and then imagine you had no toppings of any kind in it, and then add that with the fact that it's pricey. OKAY I GET THAT IT'S PORTABLE. But why does it matter when i'm only bringing it to my trash can. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. **** you pho daddy read more

Order at the counter, then they bring it to you. Or does it work that way? I have no idea. And what is the difference between regular and premium ph? Maybe have a sign that explains it. The concept seems nice. The restaurant is nice. The ph is not so nice. Chicken pho is really quite disgusting. The beef is slightly better. I'm not sure what kind of customer base likes how it tastes but it's definitely not good. I hate leaving bad reviews for any establishment but how else can one improve? read more

I LOVE pho! I've eaten it for years and I've had it made many different ways. For me, pho is like pizza in that when it's not very good, it's still pretty good. I've never had pho I didn't like and this place was just ok. Service was great, but the broth seemed like it's lacking flavor and the beef (while tender and of good quality) isn't very traditional. Great concept to be able to pick out how much and what to put into your bowl, but I've just had a lot better. read more

Pho Daddy - Smelt so good I forgot to take a picture. Please enjoy my almost finished chicken noodle bowl. - Vietnamese Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

I don't know what to say about this place except that it's filthy and poorly managed. I tried to tip one of the workers there and he straight up told me that they don't accept tips even though there were a tips jar right next to the cash register, I asked him about the jar and he told that the tips goes to the owner, not the workers. C'mon Jimmy, you can do better than that. Instead of taking the tips that the workers make, give them those tips. read more

They have vegan pho! Super stoked, since it's much closer to me than tamarind. Service is awesome, super friendly and the food is good. No complaints read more

Probably the closet thing I've had to a real Phõ broth since I was in Vietnam. The soup was piping hot, full of flavour and had all the garnishes to top it off. I had the regular broth but they were both tasty! read more

Nastiest pho I've had in my life. Spent forever waiting for our order and then when I asked to use the washroom I went on a grand tour of the building which lead me to a bathroom that looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years, not to mention I got to see the kitchen in the back which anyone could tell it is not up to standard. Never again. read more

Absolutely delicious! Everything is made from Scratch and it is really flavourful. Got my toes and eyebrows done at Aura spa (amazing as always) then popped on down for a delicious hot soup. They also have a Thai peanut bowl that is amazing as well!!! read more

I wanna say it's good. I wanted to be a fan. But the sincere lack of meat and products is silly. The guy making the soup might wanna quit acting like some kind of big shot with the women in line. Focus dude. Jimmy should maybe spend some time or send in a mystery shopper to see what's going on. I hope they change it around but I won't be back. read more

My son and his wife love this place and were super excited to bring me here when I came to visit. It lived up to my expectations 100%! The woman working was super friendly and sweet, She gets five stars of her own!! Can't wait to come visit again this summer and eat here again. We met the owner when we stopped at the fish store downstairs, super friendly and outgoing! read more

The staff here were super friendly and chill and made the unusual process super easy. The vegetable Pho was good, the broth was a bit watery but still nice and the vegetable array was killer. Pho was a nice big size for its price, but the specialty things other than pho (like coffee) were a bit expensive. But still worth it. read more

This place has a Subway Sandwich method of serving Pho. You pay, then move down the line to choose your toppings behind a glass barrier. Selection is very limited to the choices of beef brisket, chicken, or vegetarian. There was not a lot of diversity of flavors. There are not combinations of beef available, only brisket. It wasn't bad, wasn't good. read more

I write this review with sadness as Pho Daddy was one of my favourite pho places in the city. Recently, they have started raising their prices (which is fair, these things happen) but the service and food quality has gone down. And that is where the problem begins. So now, my husband and I eat here at least once a week and we will be taking our business elsewhere. When we walk in, there is rarely even an employee available to help us. We usually stand alone for a few minutes. When someone does arrive to help (I don't know where they go), it is usually the same girl that helps us. We always deal with this same woman and she is extremely rude, never listens to our order, and does everything so quickly that it lowers the quality of your food and experience. She doesn't look up to make eye contact once. Not the kind of attitude you should have towards your customers when they are looking for the justification behind your prices raising read more

Really bad pho place!!! No stars! $10 for Nothing! Meat amount was so little. I am not a pho person but the one pho restaurant I have been in edmonton called King Noodle house is the best pho I have ever had. But don't waste your $10on photo daddy. They are better in their shawarma only!!! read more

I've been a few times, and have always had the noodle bowls which I think are excellent. Yesterday I decided to branch out and try the Pho. I got the traditional, and it was amazing. Normally I find Pho broth at other restaurants bland, but this was full of flavour, I was blown away. I look forward to trying the Premium next time. read more

Great space up a half-spiral staircase above 4th Street- very unique for Calgary or really anywhere. It's their soft opening and I got everything on the menu, which for now is to say spicy pho tai (rare beef, you don't have to get it spicy but I recommend it- FYI this isn't pho sate with ground peanuts but rather standard pho tai with some chili condiment added to the broth) and two veggie fried spring rolls. The spring rolls were fair but a sort of oddly fluffy wrapper- I prefer the crispier type. Also they were served with that sweet chili sauce you see all over the place, not a fish sauce based dipping sauce that I think is better for this item. On the plus side the rols weren't burning hot and, again, were not bad tasting, just not outstanding. The pho on the other hand was excellent! I love this concept- a sort of Chipotle style approach to pho where the soup is assembled in front of you and you add or omit what you want to. The flavour was very good, in fact I drank the entire large portion's broth, and the noodles in particular were just perfect, as good as the best in town. $12 for a large is a massive portion. Hours are 11-8 M-Sat and 11-7 Sundays if I recall our conversation completely. read more

I love this restaurant and have become a regular. The fresh made broth is amazing and what keeps bringing me back, but what brought me in originally is what makes me a regular. I had heard of Pho Daddy from friends, but didn't decide to check it out until I was waiting in line at the bank and Jimmy, the owner, came into this random bank and started talking up his shop, Pho Daddy, quite loud... I was amused by his tactic, so I check it out and now I am a Pho Daddy lifer, pho-sho. read more

I ordered sate beef. It was honestly so bland and tasteless compared to what I expected from other reviews.

Love the beef pho and the smell of their broth made the whole street smell amazing in the summer. The concept is really cool. I haven't been there in a while because I'm hoping they will add more menu items soon. read more

This place is completely unreliable if you're planning on going here for dinner. I tried going to this place two different times during regular dinner hours and both time they were closed. They have no website, no contact information, and no operating hours. Based on the people i saw working there, this place most likely serves non-authenticate pho so be prepared for msg broth if you're "lucky" enough to go when they decide to actually open for business. read more

The broth is delicious - the owner says it's artisanal and may not be the same every time. It may not have the same flavour as I've had at other Pho restaurants but still delicious. What I love most is the customization of the Pho. They start you off with a custom line of building your pho, noodles cooked as soon as you order, with a choice of green onion, white onion, bean sprouts, chili oil, cilantro, a chili pepper (or more), basil, fresh lime, then your meat and topped with hoisin, hot sauce....super tasty! read more
