I can't tell you how outraged we we're. My dog was so ill. They never could figure out what was wrong with her and we eventually due to the progression of what ever it was she had...she was put to sleep. We we're heartbroken. That first day cost $1,000 and there we're no answers. We did spend more but we wanted answers. No help for our beloved dog. We would have spent more if they could treat her. Dr. Ludwig is all about the money and this should tell you all. Another time, prior, we had brought Huxley in - her recommendation. When we arrived she asked me why we we're there. I just couldn't stand the horrid treatment of our dogs. You may get good treatment or you may not...do you want to take the chance? That is entirely up to you.

Dr. Ludwig is all about money, not about really caring for your pet. Then, my actual bill was $150 more than my quote! Follow up care post-surgery should be included in the plan of treatment; instead there was an additional $150 charge. Unacceptable way of doing business. I will not be going there again.

I had to bring him back to get an antidote. He threw up all weekend (dry heaves) and was very sick. This last time I brought him to the clinic to have his teeth checked again, nails clipped, and ears checked. My little dog has to be sedated for this as he will not allow even me to examine any of those body parts. But after I dropped him off and had to leave him there, I had an uneasy feeling because the staff was not listening to me at all and I was the only person there with an animal at 8:30 AM. They acted like they had no previous records or knowledge about my dog at all even though he had been there several times a year ago with an infected tooth and it honestly felt like they didn't care about any of my voiced concerns. They never called me even though I gave them my phone number before I left. I finally had to call them at 2:30 PM afternoon to ask about my dog. They did not want to answer any of my questions and kept saying "we are busy" but that I could come and pick him up. They also said he had a loose tooth so it had to be pulled and that he needed ear ointment daily. I became upset because they were supposed to call me and I also cannot put ointment in his ears as I explained to them that this dog would not allow me to do and that is why he needed to be sedated in the first place to check his teeth and his ears (evidence that they were certainly not listening to me earlier). When I said I needed oral medication for his ears and they needed to change that, the person on the phone said "we will talk about that when you get here" and I said "no, we will talk about that NOW" because I did not want to have to wait for them to change the form of the medication after I got back there because I clearly told them this dog will not let anyone even me touch his mouth or ears. I asked how much the tooth pull was that I was not called about and the first response was, "we are busy, hold on", "we are busy." When I got there I was met with a vet who never even introduced himself, had no name tag on, I had never met him before and judging from his demeanor had obviously been told about what concerns I had on the phone prior to my going back there to get my dog. I told them I was supposed to be phoned and the vet said I had sent a text indicating that whatever needed to be done on exam they could go ahead and do it. I sent no such text and told them that, so then I was offered a removal of the cost of removing the loose tooth (which I then learned was also decayed according to the vet) from the bill. I would have gladly paid it had I been given the courtesy of a phone call when they found this on exam because it was certainly necessary and I did not need a lecture on how not removing it "would be a disservice to my dog"! I also needed to know about his ears and was told he had a yeast infection but I wanted to know how he might have gotten that. I was told it was "just something dogs can get much like children get infections and need antibiotics"! (My dog is 9 years old and has never had a yeast infection before). I was never offered any information about the possible side effects of the oral antifungal medications I was handed or whether it could interact with the medication that he was already on for Lyme's arthritis so I again had to ask. (The response was so minimal I had to look up all of this information on the internet after I got home to get some answers!) The exam room door opened and my dog came running out to me so frightened he peed and pooped on the floor and the hair on his back was standing up. This dog is my baby and I will never again leave it with people who do not seem to care about me or him and I would not recommend that place for anyone who truly loves their pet.
