Virtually every surface/object in our house was covered in dust and debris by the time they left. The mess was extensive: chunks of lint on blinds and lampshades, dog hair blown to the top of a kitchen cabinet, dust embedded in crevices of furniture, and bedding was covered in dust. Everything stored downstairs in the furnace room had to be cleaned - even luggage. Because Dang Good had 2600+ 5-star reviews, we didn't think it was necessary to closely supervise the workers, so we didn't appreciate the full extent of the mess until they left. And it is also why we assumed that we had fallen for a scam, and didn't lodge a complaint to the company. However, when the owner, Mark, followed up a week later looking for a 5-star review, I relayed what happened. He sounded surprised as their procedures require covering ducts with plastic to create negative airflow which prevents dust blowback. He said he spoke with the employees who indicated that to the "best of their knowledge" they followed procedures: meaning that they recall covering 23 unique 1950's style vents with plastic, removing multiple screws from every vent in order to blow high pressure air into it, and then reattaching each vent when complete. We can attest they did not do this, and failing to do so explains the mess. Mark wanted to return to see our house, but we declined as we had already cleaned and it wouldn't change anything. Our money was refunded, but it's small consolation as it took us hours to clean our house and our blinds will never be the same. Our 1-star experience is far from the company's 2885 5-star reviews on Google, and we think people should be aware, because a Dang Good team may misremember making a mess of their house, too.

This was not pointed out to me until the technician was at the house. I didn't know that it was even possible to clean the ducts without cleaning the furnace. It's super important to me as a Grandmother to feel good about the quality of air my new family member is taking in! Especially because of the horrible things you hear of that is shoved into the ductwork of a new build. This man spent 45 minutes sealing the ductwork (that he is not normally paid for) because it was not done properly by the builders. It was just enough to pass I assume a "paid off" inspector. These homes are going up so fast things are barely if at all done to code. The furnace is 10 years old now and the motor is leaking. But Keith is honest and top notch. This business deserves the awards that has been listed on the website. Most of all for being honest, honourable, living up to its word and treating the clients with respect and generosity. How much more can you ask for? If you are needing your furnace maintenances and ductwork cleaned I cannot recommend this business enough. I am so impressed. Side note: Renters are so desperate that they are like me paying out of pocket to bring the rental up to a standard of quality that it should be mandatory by the city of Calgary. Landlords are having a hard time especially because of the higher taxes and interest rates collecting from the owners. It's sad that when asking a landlord to replace a ( black) moldy rubber seal on a washer. Have the black mold cleaned out of the detergent container, channel and barrel only to a response "that he can not afford to pay any more to up keep his investment" sadly because of inflation and the rent barely covers the mortgage at this time. This review could go very long if I write all the accolades that are deserving to Big Springs…read morePlumbing for the work they have done for us over the past while, and in a previous rental home. We hired Big Springs recently to replace all of the de-listed poly B piping in our 1990's home in Airdrie. This was a large job with spidering pipes throughout the house. They did a fantastic job, were responsive throughout, and completed in a timely manner at a reasonable rate. Mike was my initial contact and he was great with meeting and walking through and explaining the process and getting it all going. We chose Big Springs due to outstanding service that we had received previously when we were renting, by Matt, who went above and beyond and proved to us that this is a company with heart and integrity. Hence why they got this piping job. Along with doing our piping I asked for a recommendation of a contractor to handle the drywall and paint, since our house was being cut top to bottom. (We are new to Airdrie, so we put all our trust in these guys) On their recommendation we brought on Jordan from Concept Construction Service LTD. This too proved to be a great choice and we are equally pleased with the work of Jordan at Concept Construction. Would not hesitate to recommend him too! The job is seamless and our pipes work great and our new walls and paint looks beautiful. Big springs also replaced our Hot water heater, frost free valves and two new toilets, etc. If you are trying to decide whether to use these guys or not, there should be no hesitation. Their workmanship is great, their service has been great (Thank you Matt, Mike, Jason and all others who helped on the job, and the friendly office staff) and in my opinion are very trustworthy. Renovations can be VERY stressful, however this group of people mentioned above made it much easier and less stressful before, during and after the job was completed.
