I then wrongly assumed the chef was too and not that there is anything wrong with that, it's just that well... not really authentic is it? Then the food came and it was truly excellent! I then found out that the chef an elderly woman was in fact Thai and from Chiang Mai! So if you are looking for great Thai food go there!

Food: The Tom Kah soup was delicious, one of the best I have had. If you read my other reviews,…read moreyou can see I like going to Thai places to try their version of Tom Kah soup. It was a little on the mild side though, so we had to spice it up with the dried chili. I had AL31, which had chicken, mushrooms, the little baby corn... It was REALLY good, not too spicy, good, rich flavor (wouldn't expect anything less from France!) and nice presentation with the rice. Food was excellent. Atmosphere: It is modern inside, it seems like the place was just built (or I should say renovated). One thing I like to note is how spacious the places in Toulouse are. If there is a little room between tables so you don't HAVE to eavesdrop on your neighbor, that's a good thing. This place had some room, so that was a plus. Service: Our waitress was nice, no complaints. She spoke English and French. The owner, at least I think it was the owner, was funny when we left because he asked if we liked Japanese food and that there was a great place next door. I'm sure he is friends with them or something...? Usually you don't try to get patrons to NOT come to your restaurant! But hey, when in France...! Price: Reasonable, not cheap but not expensive. Like most places in Toulouse, they have a "meal deal" sort of thing where you can get an appetizer and entree or entree and dessert or go for broke with all 3. But Tom Kah soup wasn't an option for the meal deal so... Overall: I would come back, most def. I like French food just fine, but when you are staying in Toulouse for a week, you need a change of pace from duck and foie gras. Solid Thai place, would definitely come back again.

Traveling with my youth group, we entered the restaurant on a hot summer's day, craving Vietnamese food and ready to eat one thing: bo luc lac aka shaking beef. With a rush of 30+ people, the owner and chef impressively fed us very quickly and fully with sides and drinks to boot! We came back just as strong the second day and were served with equal speed and hospitality. The owner was also clearly enthusiastic and eager to feed his patrons, making the meal that much more delicious. The five stars are for the friendliness and generosity of the restaurant owner, who graciously accommodated our group of 30+ ravenous diners two days in a row, cooking up a delicious storm! I would definitely recommend this spot if you're craving Vietnamese food in Lourdes.

500 out of 5 stars…read more My youth group decided to head here, all 30+ of us, after hearing about some bomb bo luc lac. We completely packed the restaurant, but the owner was so quick to accommodate us. He quickly made all our orders of bo luc lac, and was having a great time with our great. LMAO He was so worried about us waiting that he opened his display of drinks and tossed them at us, shouting "TAKE IT ALL IT'S ON US IT'S FREE." We were so thankful for Asian food since we've been traveling in Europe. The portion size was just right (and though we ordered bo luc lac, the chef/owner also made fried rice and noodles for those waiting). I have no idea how he did it so fast. The meat was juicy and it came along on a pile of salad + bowl of rice. After our meal, he did not give us a phone number, but his ACTUAL CELL PHONE (and a charger) to call in our order the next day. We had ga kho, which was enormous for one person. It reminded me of the dish my grandma makes. The chef was super nice and went out to buy fresh fruits for us since he was expecting us. We had some conversation and it turns out it's him and his wife who live above the restaurant, and it's a small family business (he has his adult kids living in the States). While we were waiting for the bathroom (which was really cute with fluffy hand towels and decor), he gave us a key to open his personal bathroom next to it. It had a shower and everything. When we came in the first day it wasn't too crowded. I think the chef/owner really enjoyed our huge group of Asian kids come in. It's clear he loves what he does. After I asked for a selfie, he asked me to be his daughter LOL. I don't know when I'll get the chance to go to Europe again, but this restaurant was a highlight of Lourdes. I'll definitely go here when/if I am able to come back. Cam on Chu nhieu lam cho do an ngon!

After reading some reviews on TripAdvisor, my mom and I decided to come here for dinner one…read morenight...and then we kept going back. Chez Jasmine is a small and unassuming Thai restaurant located in the main city of Carcassone (not in the old city). It is run by a Thai woman and her British husband, so it is very easy to eat there if you don't speak French. They have a website (http://www.chezjasminethai.fr/index.php?id_lang=1) which has their menu, and they also have English menus there. Chez Jasmine seats about 16 with three outdoor tables, so it is mainly used as a take-out place. The owner takes your order and then turns around and cooks it at the stove behind the counter. Her food is amazing - I say this as a lifelong New Yorker spoiled by the sheer number of tasty and cheap Thai restaurants in my neighborhood - and very well priced. Over the course of our stay, we ate the Red Curry (medium spicy; coconut milk, carrots, peppers, onions), the Panang Curry (medium spicy; coconut milk, peppers, onions, peanuts), and the Pad Thai. The currys were both amazing and were just full of great fresh flavors. She also puts in a lot (I mean a lot) of chicken as well as vegetables. The Pad Thai was also wonderful and had a really interesting, almost spicy, sauce. This is the kind of small restaurant that really relies on word of mouth and customer reviews to survive and I give it my wholehearted recommendation. The food was delicious, the owner was nice and extremely helpful, and the service was very quick. All in all, we took a chance on Chez Jasmine and were wonderfully surprised!
