As a former Falang living in Chiang Mai I was skeptical at first when the waiter told me he was…read moreVietnam. I then wrongly assumed the chef was too and not that there is anything wrong with that, it's just that well... not really authentic is it? Then the food came and it was truly excellent! I then found out that the chef an elderly woman was in fact Thai and from Chiang Mai! So if you are looking for great Thai food go there!

Food: The Tom Kah soup was delicious, one of the best I have had. If you read my other reviews,…read moreyou can see I like going to Thai places to try their version of Tom Kah soup. It was a little on the mild side though, so we had to spice it up with the dried chili. I had AL31, which had chicken, mushrooms, the little baby corn... It was REALLY good, not too spicy, good, rich flavor (wouldn't expect anything less from France!) and nice presentation with the rice. Food was excellent. Atmosphere: It is modern inside, it seems like the place was just built (or I should say renovated). One thing I like to note is how spacious the places in Toulouse are. If there is a little room between tables so you don't HAVE to eavesdrop on your neighbor, that's a good thing. This place had some room, so that was a plus. Service: Our waitress was nice, no complaints. She spoke English and French. The owner, at least I think it was the owner, was funny when we left because he asked if we liked Japanese food and that there was a great place next door. I'm sure he is friends with them or something...? Usually you don't try to get patrons to NOT come to your restaurant! But hey, when in France...! Price: Reasonable, not cheap but not expensive. Like most places in Toulouse, they have a "meal deal" sort of thing where you can get an appetizer and entree or entree and dessert or go for broke with all 3. But Tom Kah soup wasn't an option for the meal deal so... Overall: I would come back, most def. I like French food just fine, but when you are staying in Toulouse for a week, you need a change of pace from duck and foie gras. Solid Thai place, would definitely come back again.

Actual review date August 6, 2018 --aka 6-8-18 in French nomenclature…read more After about 5 days of mostly French cuisine and attempts at ethnic cuisine really being just French fusion, this place was a welcome frind in Toulouse. One of the largest frustrations of being in most parts of France is finding an open restaurant after about 830-900 and we were successful here. The Thai offerings were great, nice sized portions easily served family style. The curries were excellent as were the wok items and there was even a decent amount of heat in several of the items, (the Pa Nang curry for example). The Pad Thai was great and the only thing that was lacking was a decent array of street noodles(which I could have missed). To make a long story short, the people here are delightful and their food is great plus they serve really cold tap water and don't try to force you to purchase some really mediocre Vittel for about 6 bucks a liter. This place is a real find and we walked out very satisfied. Yes, go to this place!!! Even though Toulouse is not really the best place in France to stay and vacation, this restaurant made the trip worthwhile!! At least that's one American's opinion..

One of the first places in Toulouse we were able to find that was actually open and could seat more…read morethan two people at a table (family of 5). Staff didn't speak any English, but we worked out what we wanted and ordered and got our food in a timely fashion. Not the first time we've run into this in Europe, but the shrimp wasn't cleaned. I guess relatively normal here, but I think most Americans would find it nasty. Even if you get past what it is, it's still gritty when you eat it and we feel that ruins the shrimp. Otherwise, there were Some interesting choices of fancied-up sushi on the menu that was pretty good. While the salmon rolls and nigiri were fine, the tuna wasn't super fresh. Nothing dangerous, but missing that bright red freshness and flavor. While the kids and I went sushi, the wife went with a Thai option - the Pad Thai. It was very, very bland. Edible, just bland. In the end, it fed us and we were satisfied; just no reason to recommend this spot. The beer selections were also ALL Asian, and that's not good beer. The wine selection was also very limited.
