We had heard about this establishment several times from various friends. On a beautiful Sunday and…read moreempty fridge, we decided to take the 40-minute drive to discover how excellent Thai cuisine can be. Where we are living, there is no decent Asian restaurant far and wide.
Was the long drive there and back worth it? Yes and no.
First of all, the restaurant is charming and the staff super friendly. The food is beautifully presented on the plate and tasted good, even very good. What knocked my socks off a bit, though, was the bill. Personally, the treat was a bit too expensive for what it was. Even the floral garnishes and nicely carved carrot pieces don't justify that.
Would I return to the Joy again? Yes, definitely, but only if I were passing through. For an extra trip, probably not again.
