I've had the pleasure of ordering a few Charcuterie boxes over the years and the quality and service is impeccable. I ordered a small charcuterie box which is a 10x10 box filled with meats, cheese, fruit, nuts, crackers and accoutrements. Simply delicious and the presentation is top notch. You can customize your box with your preferences, I love old age cheddar and old Parmesan. Everything was fresh and delicious, packaged well. If you are looking for Charcuterie boxes or a set up for any events. I would highly recommend them! Perfection!

I'm so happy that my first review of the year is a 5-star review!…read more Each year for New Year's, my husband and I just pick up a shrimp ring and a box of mixed hors d'oeuvres from the grocery store. This year I wanted something different... something special. A charcuterie board! Yes. That would be perfect. I was searching around online and found Charcuterie Pickering. They were close, their website was beautiful but most importantly, the reviews were great. I thought at first that they might be a better option for our corporate events but then I saw that they had all sorts of options available, large and small. I couldn't find a price list online so surely they're going to be too expensive for what I was looking for but thought, what did I have to lose by requesting a price list? I reached out via their website and Maria was quick to respond to my query. Much to my surprise (and happiness), the prices were reasonable. Since it was just for my husband and I, I opted for the small 10x10 box. Charcuterie Pickering accepts payment by etransfer and credit card (by phone). As I was paying by credit card, I had the opportunity to speak with Maria directly. She asked about allergies and preferences. Thankfully neither of us have any food allergies and because of that, I didn't want to limit her creativity by choosing any preferences. I wanted her to know that she had complete creative licence and mentioned my love for blue cheese so even that would be welcomed... you know, on the off-chance she may have some laying around. (Okay, so maybe that was one preference I was hoping she would include.) We scheduled our pick up for mid-afternoon on New Year's Eve and she came out to meet us at our car. Honestly, at first I was amazed by the weight of the box but as I peaked through the lid, my excitement grew! It was so hard to wait until later in the evening to have it and truth be told, we did dip into it a couple of times along the way. Our box included an assortment of meats, fresh and dried fruit, crackers, olives, jams, jellies and even honey with the most adorable wooden honey dipper. But there she was... tucked into a corner... the most glorious looking blue cheese! To be fair, that blue cheese was the reason why I couldn't wait and ended up sneaking a couple of bites early. Everything was absolutely fabulous... especially that blue cheese! My goodness, that blue cheese! Picking through the box was like a little food adventure... trying everything, in every combination. It was beautiful. It was delicious. It was perfect. I hope to make this my new New Year's tradition.

I feel people haven't discovered it because of the LRT construction that's still going on along Eglinton and many people may miss it driving by. I remember reading an article about this on BlogTO but I guess it slipped my mind until I came across it again on Ubereats. While I was out on a morning walk, I decided to take advantage of the Ubereats promo to give this shop a try and ordered their strawberry shortcake zeppole. At pickup, I was greeted by a friendly gentleman and display cases full of sweets! It was a beautiful sight!! Everything looks so delicious! They had everything: full size cakes, cannoli, tarts, shortbread cookies, biscotti, croissants, danishes, focaccia and more! The strawberry shortcake zeppole was a little crispy on the outside, inside, it was filled with fresh cream and pieces of strawberry! If you love cream puffs like I do, you have to try it! It was really fresh, delicious and not very sweet! Just don't get too excited like I did and almost choked myself inhaling some of the powdered sugar on top as I was about to take a bite out of it! I'm excited to return to try their other items! My only dilemma is where do I start...

I ordered their pastiera napoletana after the owner recommended it as a dessert which was not too sweet and unequivocally stated that he made one of the best in the city. He was definitely right to be confident. Light and fragrant, the smooth aroma of the orange balanced very well with the crispy, delicate crust. I only got in a few bites before the rest was devoured by my family. It is a slightly expensive treat, but one I can see myself not being able to resist on future special occasions. Speaking of the owner, what a charming and delightful character! Extremely amiable and welcoming, giving the place the vibe of an authentic Italian bakery. Give this underrated spot a try!

Wow I don't normally give 5 stars but Road Grill really impressed me!…read more The truck came by my office today and everyone was SUPER excited. Needless to say, everyone was very excited and hungry for lunch! Since I've never tried them before I asked what they recommended and she said the steak burger or cheese burger. I decided to get the mushroom cheese burger ($10) and made it a combo fries + drink ($4). It was very windy today and the lady was kind enough to tell us to wait inside our office building while they cook the food. It didn't take too long for us to get our food. The burger was huge and the beef patty was very thick and juicy! They put onion rings in the burger which is a plus. The fries are topped with just garlic cream sauce which made the fries that much better! It's been 11 hours since I ate the burger and I'm still drooling about it. They also have a store called Grill Gate and I'll definitely go check that out. $14 for the combo is not bad at all! Definitely recommend everyone to try if you have the chance.

The restaurant is split into two main areas: high table booths and a more open space with the usual tables & chairs. I would recommend seating in the latter area because there seemed to be more light. Food-wise, the portions were generous and scrumptious! The salmon bowl was creamy, zesty, packed with crunch. The Italian sandwich was fantastic as well, with a generous layer of mayo on ciabatta covering layers of cured meats, cheese, arugula, & roasted red peppers. Of course, we couldn't leave without getting caffeinated ;) Service was friendly from the get-go, but our food did take a long time to come out due to backed up takeout orders. A minor discount was provided for the inconvenience. Despite this, we would be up to coming back for weekend brunch one day!
