The most concerning issue occurred one week before the wedding, when we finally received an invoice that included unexpected charges. While we were initially quoted $75 per hour, the invoice included over $200 in additional "consultation" fees. There was no formal consultation--only a few email exchanges (approximately 3-4 emails) requesting basic information about services and timelines, many of which went unanswered. Due to the lack of timely communication and the surprise fees so close to our wedding date, we ultimately felt uncomfortable moving forward and canceled our plans. Future clients may want to clarify all fees in writing upfront and ensure communication expectations are clearly established.

When we arrived, we were surprised by how small the facility actually is. It was clean, but the enclosures were very small--much smaller than we expected. We were hesitant but decided to proceed, thinking our girl would be okay. Unfortunately, we were wrong. When we picked her up, she was visibly distressed--shaking with anxiety or fear--and had several abrasions. It's unclear whether they came from the metal enclosure or another dog, but either way, they were concerning. She continued shaking for two days, to the point that we had to take her to the vet for medication just to help her calm down. She also came home extremely hungry, as if she hadn't eaten in quite some time. Whether she refused to eat or wasn't fed properly, we should have been notified immediately. Overall, this was a deeply upsetting experience for our dog and for us. We will not be returning.

I never heard anything else until July 4 when I was informed that in order to hold Honey I would need to pay for the boarding up front. Why wasn't I informed of this on July 1? Then they sent a link for fastpayments.com and not bluetails. I again informed them I would not be paying any money in advance. At that point I was told Honey would need to be relisted and they would continue processing applications. And then Courtney sent me this after I told her it all sounded like a scam since I had never met Hobey in person, This is Courtney the founder of Bluetails. We have a very high reputation in our community.
