I would like to share how awesome of a job one of your store associates did helping me (Location- South College Road, Wilmington, NC) Last weekend, my friend (who was visiting town) and I visited the store for holiday pictures with our dogs. One if our emails did not send. I called at least 5 times and spoke with associate, ROB. He was so patient and friendly, trying multiple email address. I believe he even called corporate to figure out the problem. After one full week, our pictures finally sent! I am so excited and thankful for ROB that we now have this cherished memory! read more

We've been getting our dog groomed here for almost 2 years. We noticed the last couple times they were barely taking off any fur requiring us to schedule more frequent visits. We were about 20 minutes late at our last appointment, which I know is an inconvenience for everyone, but I was shocked with the negative attitude I received from what looks like the new manager. This type of personality should not be Customer facing. I was hoping they would make an accommodation for me, but was given no other option but to reschedule later in the week. Two days before my appointment, I get an email notification showing that my appointment was canceled. No call, no explanation. I was forced to call other groomers in the area to see what my options are and very glad that I did.....Better pricing that included more services. Fire your groomer for the inability to follow instructions. Took my dog in for a bath, TRIM under the belly, and around the hind legs and they ended up shaving him. This is not at all what we wanted and we paid for it. If your groomers can't do what the customer requested then maybe they shouldn't be doing that job. The grooming department is AWFUL! They messed up our first appointment and did not complete the bath, cut, and nail trim as scheduled and confirmed. Last time for me at this place. I had my dog groomed here on and for over 5 years. Wasn't my favorite grooming spot but they are close. However, the groomers were constantly calling to rearrange appointment and I always tried to accommodate them. However one time I was 15min late and was berated by the manager.so much for trying to accommodate! Today, after making an appointment a week ahead of time I was told the groomer didn't show up. I've had a great experience at pet smart recently in the grooming department! Apparently by the rating of this location, I should be surprised. I want to say that the groomer, Jackie, made all the difference. Jackie was very friendly and showed actual interest in my dog and made us feel special! Not to mention his coat was perfect! I would give her a 5 star review! You can even book your appointments through her Instagram and she gave us free treats.. that's always a plus. One star because no other way to leave a review. Visiting from out of the area, specifically looking for puppy gear as we flew here to pickup a puppy. Completely ignored by two of the three staff members behind the counter. One young woman ( African American) was helping a patron.. and greeted us with hello ( thank you you get 10 stars ). the other two ( white) were so engrossed in their own banter they didn't even look up from their personal conversation to greet the customers or acknowledge them not just us all of them. Finally a groomer that did my dog right!!!! Robin was the one who cut my dogs hair and trim her nails. She also cut my dogs tail without bforgetting like the other places we've taken her. This will be my home for grooming her. read more

It's always something with the grooming at this store. Either a random fee they want to start tacking on that they've never charged you for or they wait until right before your appointment to try and reschedule. If I scheduled in advance for an appointment on a certain day, that means that's the day that I am able to get there. Don't ask if another day would work better, obviously not. Also, have the groomers call if there's an error, not the store front staff. They're too nice to be doing the dirty work. read more

One of the worst PetSmarts I've ever been too. They can't groom at all, rude customer service, tried and said my dog is snappy yet every other groomer in Wilmington said he's one of the easiest dogs to get along with. They told me it took 3 people to hold him down yet he's 35 pounds?!?! If your local groomer is too busy and your dog has to be groomed DO NOT TAKE HER/HIM HERE!!! read more

I took Cookie for a Pawdicure Plus in November when they were running a special on that particular service...the Pawficure Plus includes nail trimming, ear cleaning teeth cleaning, and a bandana.....apparently, there was a miscommunication, or the groomer couldn't remember what service Cookie was to receive. She as much admitted that when Cookie came out, and I asked where her bandana was, and the groomer said, that's right, she was getting a Pedicure Plus, and took her behind the door, and put a bandana on her, and brought her back out. Later that night, Cookie kept scratching her head, and so I got our ear cleaner, and cleaned her ears, and one ear was filthy. That is when I realized that she did not get the extra services I paid for. The next day, I took the filthy cotton balls in to Petsmart to complain, and the male employee told me that I would get a credit on her next grooming visit. I said fine, but I posted on Google reviews to watch the groomer to ensure you receive all of the services, and I posted in the review in November that I was promised a credit on the next visit. Well the next visit was today. The Pawdicure Plus is a walk-in service, because I tried to make an appointment online, but couldn't, because it is a walk-in service. The groomer is on duty from 9 am thru 6 pm. I was able to get there about 5pm, and the young lady at the counter checked with the groomers, and came out and told me to come back tomorrow, they didn't have time to do it today, that they didn't like to do walk-ins after 5pm. So then I asked her to check Cookie's account notes, because I was supposed to get a credit from the November service. The young lady said there was nothing in the notes, and that I would have to pay the full price of $26.00 tomorrow when I came back. I started to walk out and when I got to the door, I turned around and told the young girl that I couldn't understand why they couldn't take 10 minutes to do the service, and that I would not complain if they hadn't screwed up in November, and now being told there was nothing in the notes about a credit. She went and checked again, and I guess one groomer elected to do it. So back Cookie went for grooming. In the meantime, I dug $10.00 out of my pocket to tip the groomer, because I appreciated her generosity. I was also talking to the lady who is there on weekends, helping people with dog food, and she asked me what was wrong, because she sees me in there a lot, and I told her, and the fact that in November, Cookie had no bandana when she came out, and did not get all of the services I paid for, nor the credit that was promised me in November. About that time, here comes Cookie, and guess what?? No bandana! I asked the groomer where her bandana was, and the groomer asked me if I wanted a bandana, and I replied, doesn't one come with the Pawdicure Plus, and the groomer said yes, if you want one...I put the $10.00 tip back in my pocket, but when the groomer came back with the bandana, she got down on her knees and talked sweet to Cookie, so I dug the $10.00 tip out of my pocket and gave it to her.... This is probably my last trip to Petsmart for grooming. They are convenient, which is nice, but it is not worth the aggravation, or the massive headache it has caused me today. I will be calling the manager Monday, and contacting their district manager and corporate office, too, and I will not recommend them to anyone, unless there is a change, starting with the credit I was promised. If the manager makes this right, I promise to update this review, but in the meantime, I will place this review everywhere. read more

Went into PetSmart to get dog nail trimmers. Then I realized their grooming center was open. I inquired about a nail trim and asked if I could make an appointment. I waited in line like they said for 10 min only to be told to go to the other register where I was in the first place. Again I asked if I could make an appointment. I was told they were too busy but I could call to make an appointment. Why would I call when I was there. I felt insulted and dismissed. I left and will never make that call. I know this younger generation does everything on line but I'm from a different mind set and like face to face services. read more

Ridiculous grooming department!!! I miss Louis he was so great...I was told grooming hours were until 6 during the week...ok, I showed up at 5:25 and grooming lights were off but groomer was still there...thought she'd realize she was SUPPOSE to be open until 6 and she'd clip my dogs nails!!! I showed up today for my scheduled appointment at 12:30 for Shannon. The same time, another person shows up for a 12:30 appointment with Shannon. When I asked if it was a mistake, they told me no, she does 2 at one time. I asked how could she possibly do that, does she have 4 arms? They told me one waits in a kennel while the other is being groomed. What TF is going on? I could have dropped mine off an hour or 2 later, instead of her being in a kennel 2 hours and groomed the other 2 hours (4 hours total). I will NEVER in my life bring any pet there again. If she didn't need a haircut so bad, I would have walked out. They charge $11 more if you want your groomer to just work on your dog. A great place in Raleigh has a no kenneling policy, and it only takes them 1.5 hours to groom, then you are expected to pick them up right away. I WILL from now on, drive my dog 2.5 hours away to have a better experience, then sitting in a kennel. read more

I thought I had finally found a home for grooming my Cocker Spaniel at the Wilmington Monkey Junction PetMart on College Road regardless of all the negative things I heard from 'Groom & Doom' to never ever go to a franchise outlet to seek grooming needs. Well today I received the full smack in the mouth for my patronage. I booked a 12:00 for my dog over the phone and asked if I could drop him off 15 minutes before. Yes was the reply. So I took an hour off from work to deliver my dog at 11:45 and waited 10 minutes for someone (Meg) that I was late and they had taken another dog (a walk-in I suppose over a regular client) and then tells me my appointment was 11:30 which wasn't the case. However, after leaving in disbelief to what had happened I received a email stating my appointment had been canceled at exactly 11:39! Okay, even assuming I was wrong about my time, I wasn't, they usurped my time by 9 minutes to someone else!!! In wilmington's Traffic you would not allow a little buffer considering traffic at the lunch hour. NINE MINUTES AND THEY TOOK MY PREARRANGED APPOINTMENT AND GAVE IT TO A WALK-IN???? Are you kidding me??? I had sent this dog groomer several clients and done business with this store for years and this is the appreciation a regular customer receives??? They made me late for work because I had to return my dog home NOT GROOMED!!! And the manager was like 'uh sorry' and Amanda aka: dog groomer didn't have the decency to step out and apologize! THIS IS NOT A WAY TO CONDUCT BUSINESS! It was their fault to start with putting the wrong time down then after 9 minutes giving my prearranged time away!!!! BEWARE! The grooming dept. of this store is the most horrible I've ever seen they have not been trained in customer service in the slightest. I've been taking my dog here for years because its so convenient but the service has gone down hill over the past year or so ,So I am forced to go some where else. I will never be using this Petsmart location for my dog's grooming needs again. The lady who took care of my dog took almost 5 hours even though I had an appointment, and she did not make me feel ensured that my dog was in good hands. She did not even come speak to me when I came to pick her up, she stayed on her phone in the grooming area. It was disappointing and my dog did not look much different even though the poor thing was there for 5 hours. The one on New Centre took much better care. read more

Every time we've gone here there are not enough employees and the ones that are there are negative. Today we wanted to buy a fish and we waited in line for the woman to get it out of the tank for us. She said to wait while she rang up some others. After 20 minutes I asked if anyone else could help and she said they were all just groomers. We left and bought the fish elsewhere. read more

I have a rescue Lowchen. He is not a popular brand but I wanted to keep him in a Lowchen cut. Lauren is "Who's" groomer and we couldn't be more excited. She researched Lowchens and we modified his cut since he is in the south and we didn't want him to be so hot in the summertime. Lauren is the best and "Who" loves her. He loved his bath too since Kassidy is the best at what she does. I would highly recommend Lauren as a groomer. I live in Porters Neck so this isn't the most convenient drive for me but Lauren is!!!! I went in to get a couple Neon tetra, easy enough right? The girl who got them crushed two of the fish in the tank because she didn't net the fish like a sensible human being. She instead swirled the net in the tank as if she was making pancake batter. She crushed two of the fish against the glass with the net. Been buying our puppy food (Blue Buffalo) here for a couple of months now. Every time I go in there is an issue at the register. I don't know if it's operator error or their system, but it's always a hold up to getting in and out quick. My VIP card that I signed up for a few weeks ago still isn't recognized in the system by my phone number, so I'm thinking their fly-by-night POS computer system is to blame. Corporate issues I suppose, but I will be taking my business elsewhere. Five times and I'm done. People are nice though and offer help to find what I need. read more
