    Dirty hamster wheel
    Amanda N.

The only reason this petsmart is getting 2 stars instead of one is because they had the food I needed for my hamster. Though, they did not have a good selection nor a good selection of treats or toys for hamsters. In addition, the fancy mouses (not pictures) wheel was horribly filthy. Sadly, I was unable to obtain a picture due to the mouse continually running on its wheel. The cages reeked of urine which isn't good for any animal to stay in for a long period of time. The bedding looked like it had not been cleaned for at least two weeks. I do not recommend.

    The ignored dog... :(
    Crystal O.

I am so upset I spent the money I did... to be treated like I was. My dog and I were not only ignored and barely helped... even when it was clear we were having tough times getting things down... But I felt like a second class citizen compared to how the other two families were being paid attention to and helped. Even my dog was ignored.... never petted or used to show examples of what we learned like the other two... even my two children noticed how my dog was just plain walked by... and to think I paid the same as everyone else... I worked with my dog as everyone else did... I am convinced it was the fact the teacher did not like my family from the beginning... if I wanted someone to ignore me and talk to me in a condescending tone...I would have stayed home...and not have had wasted my families money and time. I was promised so much when I signed up...left feeling angry.

Outside the store just after grooming!

We booked an appointment with Tony when Maggie was about four months old. The transition was unbelievable. He explained to us how dogs think and taught use how to correct bad behavior. In addition to teaching Maggie, Tony taught us what we were doing wrong. I feel it was well worth the cost and recommend K-9 Academy to anyone who is looking to get training for their dog.

I'm so glad we enrolled in Tony's classes at K9 academy because now we have a obedient dog and the confidence to continue with his training throughout the rest of his life. Most people are nervous to bring their beloved pets to trainers for fear of training to be too rough on them, I know we had our concerns when looking into trainers. Tony is very careful and shows you how to properly correct your dog from bad behaviors without hurting them like some of the other extreme methods for dog training. K9 academy charges a fair price for such a great experience, training and confidence you get with training your dog. I loved the fact that if I have questions even outside of class at anytime during the day I can call him for help and he will guide us in the right direction. You can't get that kind of service from any corporate pet store that offers dog training. Tony also never tried to up sell us on any kind of equipment for training or classes that he felt we didn't need. Tony's very passionate about his work and you can really tell his love for dogs when you meet. K9 academy offers so many different class everything from basic obedience to bomb sniffing training so it's easy to find something right for you and pursue your dogs training as high as you'd like. Our puppy is now 8 months old and is an extremely well behaved and gentle dog. Tony will forever train our dogs as we adopt more of them. If I could rate this place any higher than 5 stars I would. Thanks K9 academy.

I first met Nikki back in the late 90's when i had 2 cocker spaniels go through her training. They were great dogs because Nikki played a part in their lives. We used her training techniques throughout their 16 & 17 years. My most recent contact with Nikki has been in relation to her latest litter of Vom Evolution puppies as I have been thinking about getting another dog. I completely trust Nikki, her experience and proven results. Her knowledge and experience specifically with working line german shepherd dogs and all dogs in general makes her one of the best trainers and resources in Pennsylvania. You should also know that she has won many awards, titles and competitions through her hard work and dedication to all dogs and the german shepherd breed. I am editing this to add that Nikki's training facility is spotless. It is easily one of the cleanest animal facilities I have ever been to. She takes pride in her work and it shows.

We initially contacted her for help with what we saw as aggression in Reese. Even when my brother was alive it was next to impossible to form a bond with Reese. We figured that she is a one person dog. Simply put, we were scared of her. When we reached out to Caitlin for help her response was that there were reasons for Reese's behavior and that we would explore different avenues. We set up a house visit for our first training. On the day of our visit she explained that before working directly with Reese, she wanted to take a video of us walking Reese. After a couple of minutes of taking the video and observing Reese she determined we should consult with our vet. She was concerned that Reese might actually have a hip or knee problem and be in pain and in need of meds. We made that vet appointment and sure enough Reeese has knee problems. With proper meds, it is everyone's hope that this will relieve some of her pain and hopefully make it easier to work with her. Caitlin's approach is to look at the "whole" dog, as well as teaching us about dog language. We like this approach. Now that we are addressing Resse's physical issues we look forward to our next steps in helping us feel more confident and safe with Reese and her tendencies towards aggression. We understand that this is a process and look forward to working with Caitlin on the rest of this journey! Thank you so much Caitlin!

During our private…read moretraining sessions, Caitlin does the heavy lifting of introducing Kiwi to a new command, then reinforcing it before we would all practice to further solidify the commands. We'd end each week knowing exactly what to practice with Kiwi, and so far, she has stellar recall when off leash, knows "sit," "down," "go to bed," and is becoming a pleasure to walk with around the neighborhood (she used to be terrified of cars and would not understand leash walking at all). Kiwi's behavior improvements are remarkable, and we have Caitlin to thank!

Now, Chewbacca is a top-notch gentleman. Starr not only taught us and Chewy lots of new commands, more importantly she taught us how to handle him and how to take the lead. Chewy has not only completely transformed in listening to us, but he is also now substantially more comfortable around dogs he doesn't know - something we never believed would happen. I had no idea just how much better they could be. Starr has brought us a much more relaxed home and for that I am eternally grateful. A couple ways our life has changed: Everytime I had my windows or doors open my boys would bark at the slightest noise whether it be a car, person, or their shadow. I am now able to sleep with my windows open for the first time in 6 years. My neighbors can be outside and I can have my doors open and my boys no longer bark incessantly. I can now sit on my porch with my boys and enjoy my neighborhood and evenings without my boys going crazy and trying to run all over. My boy Cache used to act like a mongrel walking on a leash. We were unable to take him anywhere. He's literally torn pads on his feet trying to get into the vets office from pulling so hard. Since the training, I am able to walk Cache into the vet, get a weight on him by myself, and Cache will actually lay down and wait to be seen. We used to have to wait in the car and carry him in. We recently brought the boys out for icecream and multiple people have commented on just how well behaved they are. A couple months ago we would have never heard that! In January my boys had a difference of opinion about the ownership of a bone and my boy Damian had bit my Cache. Cache understandably had some trust issues. I felt as though I was walking on eggshells thinking they were going to have continual issues. Starr's training has brought my boys back together and have strengthened their bond with not only me and my husband but also with each other. They are starting to play and cuddle with each other again. "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do."- Edward Everett Hale Starr's training works! My whole house is much calmer and I have a renewed confidence in my boys and also myself. I feel much more in control. Training was hard work and dedication but my boys are worth it! Thanks to Starr's training my heart is full of happiness with all of the success we have achieved and no words can truly express just how grateful I am...
