The groomers at this Petsmart are great. I have to give a special shout-out to Amelia. She does a wonderful job and has the patience of a saint. She has been grooming our 11 month old toy poodle since her babyhood. She has been patient with this boisterous pup that does not like her face messed with. Last night, our pup was particularly being a pill as Amelia was working on her face. Amelia handled her professionally and was tricky (as you must be with this pup). She stayed nearly an hour late working on our girl til she was done. She had to deal with some matts because it had been too long since we'd had her in there. She did a beautiful job and was highly professional and kind to our ornery pup. We'll be back! Thank you! read more

I loved PetSmart, until the first time I had a problem with them. In-store "customer service" unacceptable I requested contact with a district manager. On two different occasions, months apart, even after stating my problem was with management and I did not want to speak with the store manager, my request was answered with a callback-from the store manager. I now know why the store manager doesn't care. No one above them cares. Not once has anyone above that level reached out. However I have tried numerous ways to be heard. I guess I'll need to add this second incident to the first review I left for them. With as many views as it's gotten, I can tell at least the internet cares! Worst ever experience, twice...wife is a glutton for punishment. First time she dropped off the husky and white lab at appointed time...eight hours later they finally finished, dogs still wet at pick up, distraught. Second time I question whether or not they were bathed...I know for a fact not brushed out...what a waste of $150...I'd give a zero. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is by far the worst petsmart I have ever been to and I have been to a bunch. The groomers are a joke. If they don't feel like grooming a dog they wait until you are gone, call back a little bit later and say the dog is aggressive. My friends and I have tested this theory with a few dogs all very non aggressive. Drive to Asheville it's worth the extra 30 minutes!! read more

I actually think that this PetSmart is just fine. They have everything you can ask for, even an adoption center. You can watch the dogs being groomed- I have not seen anyone maul a dog as of yet. The cashiers are friendly, and the small pet wranglers at the back are nice and will answer your questions. However, they are not experts. Don't blame them if Brownie kicks the bucket. You can even return dead fish within one week- yes, strange, but true. I am glad that we have this place now, as their Siamese fighting fish look less depressed than Walmart's. read more

Groomers are terrible. I asked for a scissor cut on my Shih Tzu and dropped him off. Went next door then came back to check on him. There they were shaving him down and it was too late to stop it. I complained about the situation. The groomer handed him back to me half-shaved and refused to finish. Management was okay with that. Ridiculous. I sometimes buy dog food here if I run out before my Chewy delivery. The cashiers don't mind at all if you stand in line waiting for them to finish their conversation. Customer service is a non-priority. read more

By far the worst pet groomers i have ever been to. My son took my dog to be groomed and he came home with a bald spot where the skin is now infected and my dog came home very aggressive. I don't recommend them to anybody. read more

I've had multiple bad experiences with the grooming dept at this location. First time, I brought my golden mix in to be bathed. He's never misbehaved at a groomer before and he will just stand there and let you bathe him. They called and told me he had broken the door on their kennel and that its a good thing they weren't going to charge me. I don't know what they did to him to make him that scared, but it must have been bad. Second time, I brought in my Doberman for a nail trim. I told them she pulls her foot away when you try to do her back feet. They put her up on the table and man handled her, which scared her! She fell off the table and the groomer DIDNT LET GO OF HER LEG! She hit the floor head first! After this happening twice, I went to management! It's ridiculous that they call themselves groomers. My dogs were always terrified when they left! Never again! read more

I took my older Chocolate Lab in to get groomed a few days ago. Tamara did a wonderful job! She understood his old boy restrictions and took great care into getting him groomed quickly so I could leave in time for an appointment. She also saw that he had dry skin and used a special shampoo and honestly, his coat has never looked so good! Highly recommend Tamara. I will, 100%, request her for my future grooming appointments. read more

Please note that most of the reviewers are speaking only of the dog grooming department - hardly fair for the rest of the store/employees. I have cats and a parrot. Recently two of our 4 cats died, the second of a heart attack. The other two witnessed this and were traumatized by it, as were we humans. One pulled all her fur out and the other began hiding. Although I am a very experienced cat owner (I've even worked for the Humane Society, specializing in abused and injured animals), I was at a loss this time. It's so much harder when it's your long time companion. I stopped in the store twice with questions, was helped by two different people ( with others pitching in) and they could not have been nicer, more helpful, more creative with solutions - just wonderful. Typical advice would have been "buy some overpriced feliway - that will do the trick" (BTW, I did that, on other people's advice, and it did nothing). This staff asked me about the usual personalities of my cats and what their relationship was with the ones we lost. They helped me think through whether a new cat or kitten would help and decide what sort of feline to look for ( We did get a new kitten - has made a world of difference). Note to management - should you, like the ugly manager next door at Micheals, become alarmed that your staff spent more than 1.5 minutes with a customer, their help resulted in my having a greater need to patronize your store - kittens are money pits!) This is a small, understaffed store (no worse than any petsmart - and let's face it, all stores are these days) but they don't avoid customers and are really helpful if you plan your trip for slower times. I find them very knowledgable and their advice was as helpful as our vet's. Their selection is as good as the big stores ( how do you do that?). I can always count on them having Rowdybush parrot mix (tends to be allusive) and a selection of cat supplies that compares well to the large Petsmart near my Georgia house. To the reviewer who said it is out of the way, nothing in Waynesville is more than 5 minutes drive away if you live here. Maybe out of the way if you live in Asheville, but that is just whacky to judge a store on. It's in the same center as Walmart and right off the freeway exit. If you are coming from out of town, Clydes across the street makes a darned good burger and they're really nice people. Stop and get your hangries out before heading to Petsmart and please take the time to give the adoptables some love. read more

I've used the groomers a couple of times for my standard poodle--a cut that needs patience and skill--and they did a good job both times. I've also purchased aquarium supplies and fish at this location. Friendly employees, helpful. read more
