I never give reviews but the condition of the fish and attitude of the staff were disgusting. There were dead fish in almost every tank and multiples in several. When I brought it to the attention of the manager all I got were "Im by myself" excuses. These are living creatures and this wasnt somethng that just happened. Pretty typical Pet Smart based on setup and inventory. Lines are long as checkout takes forever for each individual and the printing of the mile long receipt. Staff is friendly. Store is clean. Nothing fancy to make it stand out from the other PetSmarts around. read more

The groomer badly injured the neck of one of the two dogs I dropped at this place. This was not my first time at PetSmart on Capital Circle but for sure it'll be my last. The second dog apparently was not harmed but the grooming was horribly done. read more

Brought my dog in for a bath and nail trim. What should have cost $31 according to their online menu cost me $43. When I questioned the difference, the clerk said that they charge $5 extra on weekends. This isn't stated anywhere on their website nor was this explained to me at the time I made the appointment. I went to pick up my puppy from grooming area and they gave me the wrong dog, told me it was mine and they didn't have any others like mine back there. Gave me their leash to borrow to put this dog in my car. Went back in there still telling them it wasn't my dog. They finally checked the back area and my dog was still back there. I had told them this dog was skinnier and more brown and more energetic and had white on his face not like my dog. They told me that shampoo changed color and that dogs age and change color. I showed them photos of my dog and they asked me how long ago they were taken which they were taken 2 days before I was showing them. They asked me if I wanted to bring "my" dog back in and have them try to wash the white off the dogs face because I was telling them all the features the dog they gave me had that my dog doesn't have. Spoke to general manager who told me he had no idea why they would say they had no other dog like mine back there since they had 4 labs that day. They were not believing me when I was telling them the dog they gave me wasn't my dog. This dog they gave me attacked me and scratched me everywhere arms legs everywhere. They were so insistent that that dog was mine, my boyfriend with me became convinced. But I knew my baby so I wasn't leaving until I got my dog.. but yeah they finally checked the back and they were like oh yeah he was back there with his name and everything. I wish I could give this place less. They don't allow people who actually want to buy the animals to hold them. And when I asked if the employees could hold them to see if they were at least tame they told me no and that they were too busy and didn't want to do it even though they weren't busy at all. The manager was extremely rude and dismissive towards me. The employees don't even handle them so the animals are not played with and barely cared for. Definitely discouraged the purchasing of animals because they just didn't want to handle it. You would have better luck at a Petco where they actually let you hold the animals. read more

I have mixed feelings for PetSmart I go to to vet to get my Dogs nails trimmed and they are very quick and nice even as a walk in. I take me dog to the groomer and never had a problem the only issue I have is that come check out time there are never enough cashiers. The main issue I have is the prices they are a little ridiculous who pays up to $30 bucks for your dogs treat? This store is well-stocked and kept clean, from my experiences shopping here, and the staff is always very friendly. The cashiers are attentive and seem to actually like animals, which is great. My gripes with the store are mainly external: the parking lot is horrible. There are pot holes, people drive super fast through there (it needs speed bumps), and the entrance off of Capital Circle is an accident waiting to happen. Just getting to this location gives me anxiety. However, the store itself is nice and, once I make it, I leave happy. read more

Took my 18lb maltipoo in to be groomed after 4 horrible trips into Petco. Unlike previously mentioned store, I was greeted by courteous, professional, helpful store associates. They were attentive to my dogs needs and happy to see to them. There is plenty of parking. The store is well stocked, clean and well lit. I found all the supplies I needed for Minnie. They took the time to groom her and she looked Awesome when the groomer Jasmine was finished. I am extremely pleased with my overall experience and will definitely take my dog there for all her future needs. I couldn't have asked for better customer service! read more

Brought my dog in for a grooming, an was VERY unhappy with the service!!! Yes, I understand they may have been busy as any normal grooming place.Wben I picked her up, it didn't seem as if they actually bathed her, she still had goop in her eyes , an when I asked if they could file her nails to where they weren't sharp, it seemed as if that was a issue to do ! I've taken my dog to other places an never been treated this way at all!!! I will never take my dog to these groomers again. They in no way did what they were supposed to and were rude on the phone when I called them about it. A couple days after taking my dog to be groomed I went to the vet. She told me that the groomers should have cleaned the hair out of his ears so he doesn't get an infection. Then as the week goes by I see my dog dragging himself on his butt. I call my vet who says that it's because he needs his anal glands expressed, and that they can do it for $21. I'm confused because when I had asked the groomers on the telephone what their grooming package included they said expressing the anal glands was included. I call the Petsmart groomers and ask them if they expressed the anal glands when my dog was groomed and they said unless I had asked that they hadn't. I said no one had told me that I had to ask for it and could I get it done. After consulting with someone the groomer got back on the line and said they wouldn't do it unless I paid for a bath. I said that in the future they should let customers know that they need to ask for this service instead of assuming that they know this. She responded "no ma'am thank you" and got off the phone. I was so furious at the lack of care and the horrible customer service that I will never return and do not suggest that anyone go there. In addition to the $50 I spent on the grooming I now have to go to my vet and pay $21 for a service that the groomers should have done at no cost. read more

I am writing this review as a regular petsmart customer. I buy my dog's food here every month, almost all of his toys have come from here, and I used their training services when he was a puppy. We are regulars at the Apalachee location, but their grooming appointments were booked this weekend and I could not stand to feel all of the mats on my dog anymore and knew it was time for him to be groomed, so I booked at this location thinking there would be little to no difference. What a mistake. I have a golden retriever who is the sweetest, most laid back dog and he literally falls asleep in the bath when I do it but when I picked him up he was extremely stressed out and could not get out of there fast enough which is enough reason to never come back because like I said nothing usually bothers him so when it does I know it's bad. What really solidified my decision to never come back or recommend this location to anyone is the way I was treated. I had to bend over backwards to leave a very undeserved tip, I wasn't offered a bandana with his groom I had to ask for it, I had to come back and have a mat removed after I had already paid and left (what triggered me to write this review is that I just found ANOTHER giant mat under his armpit since being home a second time), and to put the icing on the cake the employees were extremely rude and inconsiderate. I know Tallahassee isn't exactly teeming with stellar customer service, but when I'm paying $90 to get my dog groomed and you can't do it right the first time, I expect at least an apology?? Maybe a discount or coupon to lighten the blow?? Not here. Moral of the story, if you can't get in where you want to to groom your dog just have some patience for quality or get bit in the ass like I did. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I had the worst grooming job ever done on my dog. I have a cockapoo,and he looks horrible! They were very busy and therefore I think they just shaved him down. He had several bloody spots where they shaved off warts. And to boot they charged me $53! Evidently they charge $3 more on weekends! My ShihTzu just had a bath, but that was $27.99, and she has been groomed there regularly. I had heard nightmare stories about PETSMART grooming, but had always been pleased until yesterday. When I complained the groomer just shrugged and offered to let me speak to the store manager. After waiting over four hours to pick up my dogs, I was in no mood to wait, and it wasn't like they could put the hair back on him. I will never be going back there. read more

This is the second time that I tried grooming at this Petsmart location and honestly, don't waste your time. My dogs appointment was at 11:30 which we arrived 10 minutes early and they did say they were short one groomer so it would take a little longer than normal which I was fine with, but two hours later I went back to check and she was still in the cage and hadn't even had a bath yet. I took her and we went home. I will find another groomer because these people are far too busy and don't keep their appointments. A better solution would have been to call me in the morning and let me know they had a problem with their schedule and I would have gladly rescheduled, but apparently my time is not worth a phone call to them. read more

This store is poorly ran. Wrong prices consistently. The management is a joke. They refuse to help out good paying customers cause of their own vendettas. They are never available on the floor when needed but instead locked up in the office playing on their phones. I took Thia my Corgi to the Petsmart groomer and I was a little nervous, but they did a very good job she was a happy Corgi when I picked her up and very clean and relaxed to not at all like the prior experience with grooming. We will be back next month. read more

I do not recommend the Capital Circle location, the manager Joshua is not even close to helpful as is the associates (Tabitha was rude and refused to think about going above and beyond let alone actually doing it.) I also do not recommend placing any online orders and planning on picking them up at this, the capital circle location. It just won't happen unless you want to pay a second time and wait for a refund from your online purchase, which totally defeats the purpose in the first place. The manager on duty, Joshua even made claims the ordering from Petsmart online and shopping in the store is "not" even the same company...wait say what? Pets mart and petsmart are not the same company?!? Wow, who knew!!! Petco in Tallahassee is not too far down the road if you want good customer service!! Gave one star because it made me!! read more

Took my dog here for a puppy bath was told it would be one price which changed when I picked her up. She was washed and dryed but they didnt bother to comb or brush her so she looked the same from when I dropped her off. I will never go here again. There was a maltese being shaved who was being perfectly still but had more bald spots then I cared to count so that too turned me away. The first time they saved him bald. Me being a nice person, gave them a second chance and had a talk with them and brought a picture of how he should look to them when finished grooming and again they shaved him bald. Claiming that he was matted. I beg to differ! Yes, he had a few behind the ears and in his hot spots between the legs...but his body was soft and mat free. If I had to prove this statement I actually could, no lie! I believe the problem is that the groomers lack experience and have minimal training and when faced with the question of "Should I take the time to comb or shave" they shave...everything! Jack is 10 years old and I had been taking him to Pampered Poodles with no problems at all for those 10 years....never has he looked embarrassing...until PetSmart. I switched grooming places because I moved and this place was closer plus, I use Banfield Pet Hospital (located in all PetSmarts and I absolutely do not have issues with them, they are EXECELLENT) for his veterinary needs. It seemed right to give them a chance. Please take your pets elsewhere for grooming. Me, I stepped outside of my box only to be going right back inside it. I will be going back to my good ole' trusted groomers, Pampered Poodles. I am sorry I ever left and I will enjoy the extra 10 mins of driving just because I know that my cute, sweet little fur baby Jack will be his handsome looking little Ewok self once again! Oh, I did ask for a refund....no go on that....they get you because you sign a waiver!!! BEWARE of the WAIVER!!! read more

Very nice place. All the staff was very helpful and kind. They have a lot of good products for almost all pets! The building was kept clean and staff working to help keep it clean.
