Injured by groomer at PetSmart on Capital Circle

The groomer badly injured the neck of one of the two dogs I dropped at this place. This was not my first time at PetSmart on Capital Circle but for sure it'll be my last. The second dog apparently was not harmed but the grooming was horribly done.

    Dog they gave me

I went to pick up my puppy from grooming area and they gave me the wrong dog, told me it was mine and they didn't have any others like mine back there. Gave me their leash to borrow to put this dog in my car. Went back in there still telling them it wasn't my dog. They finally checked the back area and my dog was still back there. I had told them this dog was skinnier and more brown and more energetic and had white on his face not like my dog. They told me that shampoo changed color and that dogs age and change color. I showed them photos of my dog and they asked me how long ago they were taken which they were taken 2 days before I was showing them. They asked me if I wanted to bring "my" dog back in and have them try to wash the white off the dogs face because I was telling them all the features the dog they gave me had that my dog doesn't have. Spoke to general manager who told me he had no idea why they would say they had no other dog like mine back there since they had 4 labs that day. They were not believing me when I was telling them the dog they gave me wasn't my dog. This dog they gave me attacked me and scratched me everywhere arms legs everywhere. They were so insistent that that dog was mine, my boyfriend with me became convinced. But I knew my baby so I wasn't leaving until I got my dog.. but yeah they finally checked the back and they were like oh yeah he was back there with his name and everything. Attached are images of my dog versus the one they had me put in my car trying to get me to take him home.

She offers several levels of courses, teaching all the important basics and skills, and also offers individual training sessions as well. She's super easy to reach if you have any questions when not in class, and seems to really love all her pupper students. I really love her approach to teaching, too. She teaches how to positively reward your dog so they can learn important skills that you might not have even thought about, while also teaching how to correct behaviors without having to turn to any sort of punishment that could hurt them like a shock collar or dog whistle. My dog absolutely loves her, and is thriving under her teaching. My biggest issues before training was barking when not getting what he wanted and pulling on his leash. Now, I have plenty of tools to turn to, to discourage the barking and he doesn't really pull when walking now. Like, the change with walks was so dramatic from even the first lesson on pulling, so I'm so happy! The way she trains is with your dogs happiness in mind. We learn about anxious behaviors so we can try and teach our pups in a way that keeps them happy and healthy. Her training isn't about forcing them to exemplify the behaviors fast, it's about doing them in a safe, healthy manner that ensures these behaviors last their whole life.

Very energized, thorough and clear with instructions and goals for our furry guys. This time around, I am continuing with advanced obedience dog lessons and Morgan is teaching this class. My dog's situation is lack of socializing with other dogs and I was very apprehensive about how he would react. I was amazed at how comfortable and stable the environment was kept. I'm not sure if my dog could feel it too but he was the most relaxed he's ever been with dogs around. I felt so happy leaving the trainings session because I knew I was working with professionals. The feeling of relief you get from that professionalism is amazing. I have full trust that with work and consistency, my pup will be a great learner.

I believe Mrs. G is a really good person for this job and you should trust her to watch and take care of your pets she is very nice and trustworthy, so next time you need someone to take your pets for a bit you should most certainly trust the best person you'll ever meet, Mrs. Gadouas!! -Marley.

We adopted 4 year old Stella because of her joyful energy and loved her right away. We quickly figured out that we were going to need real help learning how to work with her so that we could all live happily together. Kim is amazingly observant and perceptive. She listened to us and respected our personal styles and our lifestyle. She watched Stella closely and helped us learn how to watch her too. Kim helped us build and strengthen our relationship with Stella. As a result, Stella learned how to pay attention to us too. Kim blends elements of several training approaches to meet the different needs of her human and canine clients. Each session, she had new exercises that helped us make the next needed step. She taught us how to walk together and how to play safely together. She helped us learn ways that dogs communicate and how we could clearly communicate with Stella. She suggested books for us to read. We learned how to use rewards and praise to reinforce desired behavior. She taught us techniques to help Stella be around other dogs more appropriately. Kim is so smart and articulate and clearly loves working with dogs and their families. Our Stella is now a Livable Dog. We still have plenty of things to work on together but, thanks to Kim's training, we have the confidence and skills to meet much of what is ahead.
