We were looking for a new kennel as our previous boarding facility closed due to the death of an…read moreowner. We left our four dogs for three nights while we went to Louisville. I had misunderstood the fee structure and when I went to pick them up I was surprised at the bill. However, after learning that I had misunderstood the price for the large pen, the manager Brestyn was gracious enough to extend the lower price that I was expecting it to be. This is the type of customer service that endears people to a business. In addition, the two ladies that I met were friendly and seemed sincerely kind and enthusiastic about their jobs. I have found a new kennel at which I can board my dogs knowing that they will be treated with kindness and a true interest in their best care. Thank you!

My two German Shepard's stayed here for 4 nights. I asked twice if they could play in the yard…read moretogether. I was told yes. When we got there to drop them off I was told they don't have a fenced in yard for play. That they walk them twice from 8-10 and from 3-5. The website says they have raised beds. It was a thin black mat. So I left our dog beds. Which took up the whole entire inside kennel. We called on our way home from 3-5 to inform them we would be home the next morning and they never picked up the phone. My concern is did they even come back from 3-5 to let them out? I called at 7:50 am the next day to tell them we were on our way and he told me he was running late. At 8:10 he gets there. I walk in and the stench is so bad it almost knocks me over. One of my Shepard's chewed up her bed completely, which totally not in her character. The other bed made it so we took it home. It also had a terrible odor to it. So I got home and unzipped the outer cover to wash it and it was soaked through with urine. Even the inside stuffing. So not only did I pay for my dogs to be ignored, not get to run outside, and to be forced to sleep on their urine soaked bed. I also had to pay for two new dog beds. I will not be using k9academy in Henderson again for dog boarding.

He has been the best dog I've ever had. Couldn't ask for a better temperament. I just wanted to let you know the results from his exam and bloodwork. His vet says all his joints are in great shape, and he has a really nice low resting heart rate. She also says he has a remarkable set of lab results. Everything was perfect and in fact, impressive for an older dog, more like a dog half his age. I really just wanted to let you know how great he is doing and that we appreciate all the hard work you put into raising healthy dogs. FYI, we did get a second puppy from you when Molly and Noah were bred again. She's doing awesome also. Thanks!!

I have used Playful Paws for years. This is the first time I have ever had concerns regarding the…read morecare of my dog. In July 2025 my family went on vacation and boarded our dog for 10 days. I paid extra money for my dog to have a cot while I was away. Upon my return, I was told by staff that he has a cut above his left eye. When she brought him out she said she had to wipe green mucus from his right eye. I told her it looked infected. I paid and left. On the car ride home my dog smelled like urine. As soon as I got home I called back and asked about the urine odor and double checked that he slept in a cot. I also complained about the infection of his eye. I also noticed my dog was limping. I was reassured the manager would give me a call. That never happened! No one ever called. I decided I would no longer use them for my dog again. I do not feel like my dog was properly taken care of during his stay. Update: Yesterday I received a call from the President of the company. He apologized and offered a free bath for my dog. I accepted his apology and the free bath. The staff were also very apologetic. I appreciate him reaching out and addressing the issues and concerns.
