This Petsmart is lacking inventory most of the time. Really wish they carried my dog's favorite food. The staff is helpful but something needs to be done about their inventory. Lines are also pretty long because they only have one cash register open. read more

dog grooming appt scheduled at 9. grooming hours say they open at 7. I went to drop him off around 8-8:30ish on my way to work. nobody was in the grooming department. why have hours posted if nobody is going to be available at the time it says it is open? this is the 3rd time nobody has been at the grooming salon at scheduled business hours in the morning. why have hours posted to be open if nobody is going to actually be working there? The work is shady too. Always find spots they miss or they cut my dog by getting too close without a guard. read more

We haven't used Pet Smart groomers for several years. But in the past years we were very pleased! Recently, we have had our pet groomed twice at the Harlingen location. The first time the cut was ok - not great but acceptable. However, today (1/29/26) the cut was not good!!! In fact, I'm wondering if that groomer was "in-training" (not a professional) because even the simple wind tunnel was awful!! Not a clear line on the sides with patches of hair in varying lengths all over the underneath area!! Also his beard looked like they tried to leave him a goatee!! $76.00 is a lot of money to pay for a pet bath and cut, especially for a low grade attempt!!!! I think we will look for another grooming shop!! read more

Love the positive vibes from the groomers super polite and nice. But each time my pups come home after grooming they are itchy and licking nonstop. My guess is that their equipment is not sanitized. This is my hundredth time there and many times later I sadly won't be going back. read more

I took my golden retriever In for grooming. He came out completely shaved (which is an absolute no no) and there are multiple large cuts on both his front paw pads. He can't even walk due to the pain. I am not normally a Karen but this place literally butchered my dog. DO NOT GO HERE read more

Twice now they have changed the quoted price from $45 TO $56 for a shampoo and standard trim on a 12 pound Maltipoo. We asked specifically for bows and didn't get those either. Nothing spectacular about these groomers, yet they came highly recommended by several friends. We won't be back. read more

Horrible service! Was very disappointed in the staff at this location. I picked up my dog today and he smelled as if he had not even had a bath. I was told it was due to the basic package I picked but I paid literally $70 dollars! My dog did not smell clean at all. They showered him again supposedly because I was upset. He then smelled a bit better, making me question if they even had showered him to begin with. You would think with these ridiculous prices, they would at least go above and beyond. The staff seemed very annoyed and the male groomer was not friendly. I over head them even talking stuff about another dog, using explicit language. It is so sad that people that do not enjoy pets work at a place like this. If they do not like their job, they should not be working there. My dog was very scared and shaking. My dog is like a family member to me. I'm sure everyone else who takes their pets feel the same love toward them. We expect them to be taken care of 100 percent. read more

I am an RV traveler. Our dogs have been groomed all over the country. Ashleigh and Adrianna did a fantastic groom on our 2 dogs. They both asked in detail what I wanted and they provided! I have never had anyone really listen to me and do what I said. Sure groomers have asked what I wanted, but never has anyone listened, and asked detailed questions. Well done, ladies. If you like pets and also like smart, then PetSmart is probably a good place for both. It's in the name after all, so the bar is already set kind of high there, amirite? Anywho, this local PetSmart has never let me down. I have numerous pets and always in need of something for them of course. So, when the need arises the family and I dress in our Sunday Best and take the Studebaker out on down to the PetSmart. The kids love to marvel at the exotic animals the can see but can't have and the wife and I enjoy wandering the aisles in wonder at the amazing variety of pet-related products. Grooming services are also available and the store staff is never condescending or rude when we hang around longer than is probably appropriate. 5 Well-Earned Stars. read more

Worst shopping experience ever! We have been long time shoppers at PetSmart but will no longer be their customer. I have never been humiliated like I was in the Harlingen location. We belong to their PetPerks and have the app, we often get offers and coupons and offers via email and text messages. We got an email for a free bag of cat food. We were shopping at the store on 09/12/2017 and tried to redeem out coupon. That was the worst experience ever! First bag of food we got would not work with the coupon (they said it was a specialty item and needed to be the regular - it did not say anything about that on the coupon), so fine - we got out of line got another bag same thing. So he calls over a manager - that is where it all went downhill. She said I had a fake coupon and tells me people have been robbing them blind with fake coupons. She rips a piece of paper off the check stand a shoves it in my face and says see fake! Someone had written fake across a coupon - which looked nothing like my coupon. I showed her the email on my phone, she agreed it was from PetSmart, I clicked the link to the coupon, she read it and sighed and said fine, I will honor it. She keys in an amount and walks off and the checker says you owe $6.48. It cost me $6.48 for my free bag of food and I got accused of being a thief and defrauding PetSmart in front of a long line of customers. It was humiliating. Corporate PetSmart is no better. I called into talk to them, after 4 calls someone finally called me back today (10/04/2017). It seems to me that PetSmart is not too worried about their customers. I will never step foot in PetSmart again, there are plenty of businesses that will appreciate my business and will not treat me like a fraud and a thief. I think one star is way too many for the service and treatment I received there! read more

I placed an order online for store pick-up (some cat food) at this store. I waited all day long for confirmation the order was ready to pick up, but this never came. So, I called petsmart.com. They contacted this store (another wait on the phone) to tell me they did not have the whole order amount, but could fill part of the order. They said I'd be receiving an email within 5 minutes with the revised order. I waited 20 minutes. As the store was about to close, I called the store directly to speak with a rude individual who told me "the order was declined". When I asked why, she said they didn't have the food. I paid for the order via paypal and my bank account was charged anyway for the whole order. I complained to petsmart.com about this and they said they'd issue a refund. They refunded only about half the order. So I was still out roughly half my order amount. Attempts to resolve this with paypal were unsuccessful as they say they don't cover claims for in-store pickup items. End Result: I don't have my cat food. Petsmart ripped me off for about half my order. I had a day full of aggravation dealing with these a-holes. I'll never use any petsmart anywhere ever again. And I'm considering filing a police report and with my state attorney general. Needless to say, I'd give ZERO STARS if that were possible. read more

Although I do shop there frequently for my puppy's needs. the actual store isn't the issue ...I took my 16 week shihtzu there a few weeks ago for his first grooming job and first off way too expensive for the job done..he had some extra fur just hanging when I asked the groomer about it she said he was moving too much .. from far away haircut looked nice closeup different story ..Well few days later my puppy started too develop an intense itch and licking of the paws . he started acting very wierd and distant not himself at all .he began developing scabs on his skin ...took him to his vet he had a full blown skin bacterial infection he said might have been caused at the groomers. it's been 3 weeks since he had his haircutt and his skin is terrible and is in pain . he remains on antibiotics , pain meds,special anti bacterial shampoo and dip . with that said I won't be taking my puppy there again ... read more
