We had such a great experience picking out our daughter's first fish. Eddie was so helpful to help us understand what fish were best for our 2.5 gallon tank we were given and that we should not put two betas together. He helped us pick out the correct food, some rocks and other fish tank accessories, and then helped us get a water conditioner. I think I would have just left with a fish and had to go back 5 times if it weren't for his awesome service! He answered all of our questions and was so kind. There is so much space and they have items for every kind of animal! My daughter liked looking at the birds and reptiles. We will be back for our restock! The only reason I'm putting 4/5 stars is because we did use the restroom while we were there and there were no paper products in the stalls. Good thing I'm a mom and have wipes always. Pet Groomers do not listen. I asked them to leave my 7mos old poodles hair long & to trim his face so that he could see, and to also trim the inner ear hair. They pulled out a sheet showing the length of the hair and I let them know I didn't understand what they were showing me since it was my first time going here for a grooming visit, but emphasized that I wanted my puppy's hair to stay long. I repeated myself multiple times, ensuring that he would have his long puppy hair and the groomer agreed. When I came they had shaved off all my puppy's hair and told me he would be getting an ear infection due to them clearing out his ear hair. I would have appreciated a call or to have been notified if the process would make him susceptible to an infection, but all they did was run it by me after the fact. I did not appreciate the lack of communication so I asked for a refund. I'm upset I won't be enjoying my poodles soft puppy hair anymore :( Don't make the same mistake as me and believe that they are there for you and your pup; they're not. read more

Took my dog to the petsmart in river park and Groomer cut dog and did not even offer a discount or refund for the trauma they caused to my dog. The cut her in the armpit area and tried to blame it on being a skin rash when it clearly looks like a cut from the clippers. They did not say sorry or even offer a discount/refund. They stated i could take her to the hospital there if it became worse so it was clearly their fault. She came home in a low mood which never happens. She usually comes home happy with her tail wagging. I called and spoke with Cameron M, who is the supervisor or manager but he did not even do anything to remedy the issue. Personally, I would not waste my time with the grooming section if this location. The first time I went in to make an appt to get my puppy's nails clipped and to make an appt for a bath n brush they would not accept the rabies tag or a photocopy of the rabies cert. stated it had to be original. The computer systems are also independent other locations (Willow Ave has all documentation) Once I finally made the appt and showed up the receptionist girl felt our puppy and said "Oh no, there way too many mats and a bath only makes it worse. We can't bathe n brush your dog today". One groomer offered to check the mats but she said NO! Beware of Pocahontas, an unapologetic groomer at PetSmart. She cut my small dog's skin on the dewclaw area & he had to get his dewclaw surgically removed the next day. I wanted to treat my 7year old small dog to a professional hair cut & style for the Holidays but he ended up needing surgery. I should have asked for the previous groomer who previously worked with my small fur baby (she was very patient) unlike this person who was "all over the place" just signing me in. She was trying to up-sell too much. For 3 days & counting my fur baby has NOT been able to walk on his back leg, not play nor sleep well due to the cone. The cone has to stay on for 2 weeks due to the stitches. His paw has gotten red, swollen & skin bubbling all because of Pocahontas, a groomer, who cut his skin. The groomer was not apologetic at all! She kept saying, "accidents happen" & I just kept saying that I understand accidents happen HOWEVER an "I'm sorry" would be nice & he's my baby I don't expect her to care he's hurt but to pay MORE attention to the next fur baby she works with. I told her I might be more shaken up than my pet but this is a scary situation he did not have to go through. If I don't speak up for my small dog who will? I am thankful for the VET they have available in the back of their store. I am also thankful this Holiday for PetSmart taking care of the medical bills their employee caused. I am extremely stressed about this, I've cried due to seeing him bothered by the bandages. My little lap dog is in PAIN & it hurts. Don't do it!!! GROOMERS ARE AWFUL!!! Tried to kill my baby... NEGATIVE 1,000 stars had to put a star to post, but they get NOTHING !!!! She was 6 months old, went in for her first schnauzer cut, all concerns were brought to the for front of what's been going on with PetSmart... long story short I left my puppy to get the cut ... was not out the store and got a call that my (healthy) puppy is having seizures!!! Never had she had them before.. so they rushed her to the vet to be observed... nothing!! Ok like I said we wanted to give PetSmart the benefit till her back and again seizure... mind you this is a healthy puppy... so to find out they were putting the rope around her neck... to cut THE HAIR!!! Research was done and rope are not supposed to be on the necks it's placed under the arms ... this was a 8 pound puppy!! Long story short ... they said she is having seizures, But the 3 times I took her in she did the exact same thing... stop taking her to PETSMART and she has not had one since... IF YALL KNOW LIKE I DO RUN!! And don't look back!! They have traumatized my baby forever!! They need to be STOPED OR PROPERLY TRAINED!!! My mini schnauzer has been groomed at PetSmart since she was a puppy. We started at W Shaw as there was a great groomer there who had taken care of our previous schnauzer. Our last schnauzer was old, cranky and had skin issues. Miranda was wonderful with her. So of course she has taken care of our new girl, Chloe. We started going to River Park when Miranda was transferred there. We may pay a bit more than a private groomer, but I know my girl is in good hands with Miranda. Just left pet smart a little while ago, and we had the best experience. It was only our second time grooming our dog. She's an older girl so I wasn't sure how well she would do. Well, when I went to pick her up Chris and Aly had nothing but good things to say about her and how she did at her appointment. They made sure to love on her and were so patient with her grooming. I am starting a fish tank soon, and went in here for some research. The store itself is actually very small. The fish section was also very small. Not a lot of decor, food, or fish. A whole section of lights were also flickering. I'm surprised the fish weren't going into seizures. It would've been more pleasant to just turn that second off. After looking around for a bit, I decided that this PetSmart was not for me, so I went to another, larger one. I wouldn't go for fish. Maybe dog food if you just need to pick some up. Pocahontas usually grooms Jax. she is so patient with him especially with his paws (he doesn't usually like his paws messed with) she pays attention to detail when it comes to his hair trimming and is very friendly. I was shopping in store on Jan 19 for dog food early morning and feeling under the weather. I usually don't go out in pajamas but needed pet food. I had just walked into the store and made a left at the first isle. I was mid isle when a store employee started following me. He asked if he could help and I thanked him but said to him nope I'm just picking up a few things. I continued to walk down the isle and the employee went in the opposite direction. There had been another employee at the front register and an additional stocking a shelf at the end of the isle and Neither asked if I needed help prior. While checking out I saw the same employee who made eye contact with me and he abruptly turned in the other direction when he saw me. It was an interesting experience. I felt as though I was being profiled and understand how honest people can have similar situations escalated. Will shop elsewhere in the future. read more

Left and called an hour later, was lectured that i didnt show up and that some one was there, just not out front. I don't know why this store exists. I've come in several times for items just to be told "oh, we don't carry that." Or "we are out." I've asked for kitten probiotics, collar for an extra large dog, padded harness for a large dog, low-wattage heat transmitter (reptile), and replacement squeakers for toys. If you're a fan of paying for your dog or cat food here, just get it at Target down the walkway. This place sucks. read more

Sadly I can not compartmentalize this review to just Banfield Vet Services as I have nothing bad to report against the rest of the store. I made an appointment for a wellness and vaccination for my cat the week prior. The day before my appointment I got a voicemail confirming my appointment and asking if I would like to move my appointment time up because there were cancellations. I did not so I did not call back. I took time away from work for the appointment and the day of 2 1/2 hours before my appointment time I get a call telling me that my appointment was cancelled because the doctors "needed to leave earlier today". More likely that they could not fill in the appointment gap and the doctor didn't feel it was necessary to keep their commitments. Very unprofessional. I will never seek to do business with this place again because this shows that they cut corners and probably do so when the health of your pet is concerned as well. Zero stars if I could. read more

Hopefully this was just bad luck and random timing as our experience getting our dogs hair trimmed was very lackluster. We had an appointment for early in the morning (around 9) and were told around 3 hours for the trimming. More than we expected, but they said they had another dog to care for which is fair. Its now been nearly 5 hours and after looking in at our dog, he still had the whole head portion to work on. All of the employees have been wonderful and very helpful but we live out of town and were ready for a few hours wait before heading home. But it is nearly double that timeframe now which has made us put off several plans for the day. I do not suggest going to the groomers here if your dog needs extra attention. I adopted my dog from a shelter a month ago and brought her in to the groomers today to get her nails grinded. I came to pick her up and they said, "She was nervous, she obviously had not been to the groomers before. I was able to cut her nails, but she did not like the grinder., so I just grinded the sides of her nails as best I could." I made it apparent that I was unhappy that they did not fully grind her nails, but they still made me pay for the grinding, even though her nails are still sharp. My dog is very even tempered around people once she is relaxed. A good groomer would have taken the time to make my dog feel comfortable and do it right, and if that was impossible, only charge me for the clipping. Unfortunately that's not what happened. read more
