Took my dog for grooming. Wonderful groomer, pleasant, did a great job, but... About a week after the first groom, dog started scratching at her ears. Ear mites. Didn't think anything about it, so took the dog back a second time, 3 months later. Sure enough, about a week later, dog started scratching at her ears. This time, no mites, but an ear infection in both ears. Kind of hard not to make a connection between the ear problems and the grooming. Vet bill for both problems was around $400. Perhaps a hygeine issue with improper disinfection of tools between clients. At any rate, as good as the clip was, and as sweet as the groomer was, won't be going back there. read more

There are some associates at Petsmart who are awesome. Christina K. and Marco never disappoint, however, some of the new cashiers act like it's a chore to be working there and aren't remotely friendly, courteous, or helpful. While my poodle had matting in his ears it was not necessary to shave the hair completely from both ears, it will take 2 years for it to grow back. both of his ears are irritated. One of the most disgusting pet stores I've ever been to. I've been here 2 times since moving back in order to get food for my lizards and have been disappointed every time. First time I let it slide without food, second time i called and they agreed they had the hornworms and crickets. Went in and the horn worms were dead and dried in there LIVE container, and had a sign saying sorry for inconvenience, no crickets. Whatever, not a big deal. Got meal worms instead. After feeding my lizards with those worms for about a week now, my fiancé and I both noticed they aren't acting right, and throwing up their worms not long after eating. I stopped taking my dogs there around 2012. I was picking up some items and I wasn't happy with how I saw some dogs being handled by the groomer. The lady was unnecessarily rough with the small/medium sized dog on the table. Now I see on WNEP that a clients dog was attacked and killed another animal in the grooming department. It is an unfortunate situation and could have easily been avoided if the employees did their job and didn't allow the two dogs to contact each other. Absolutely terrible. read more

It's been 86 degrees where I live and we were waiting almost an hour for someone to come and not only help us but get the animal we wanted, and we also asked 2 times for the lady, as she said that the lady would come and help us and she just kept going somewhere else. This place has horrible customer service, wouldn't recommend going unless you're getting animals. read more

Most PetSmart products and grooming are fantastic. That being said, they should stick to those two things. They absolutely have no business selling anything living. The advice and care they give for reptiles and to new owners, in particular regarding snakes, is HORRENDOUS! I've also had a pretty crappy experience there buying fish. Bought an aquarium for my daughter, made by them, specifically for glofish. Got everything set up and went to buy the fish the following week and they told me the tank was not the appropriate size for the amount of fish I needed to buy (they are schooling fish). So they created and marketed a tank that was inappropriate for the type of fish they advertised it homing. Ridiculous! read more

I was there on Sunday and I was looking for new treats and toys for my pup so I asked this guy who was standing there for help and right away he gave me attitude so I said that fine I walked away to go find those thing I needed my own. When I was in line for cashier the same guy who did not help me earlier was keep stair at me so once I paid for my order he comes to me and asked me if I had a problem and basically got face to face so I hold my ground and he then he told me to leave the store so I returned the things I purchased and I have bunch more to return including the crate that I bought for my dog. when I was leaving the store one of the store associate said sorry to me and that person said that Eric is like that to most people. read more

We had a wonderful experience at this particular store. We were traveling and it was approximately 1/2 hour before the store closed, so we were extremely tired. Our little French bulldog had gotten a bug bite three weeks prior to our visit, which we had our vet look at and he wasn't concerned about it. On our trip the bite kept opening up and bleeding so we were looking for something to keep him from scratching it and also help heal it. There were two employees (women) who were so extremely helpful. We had a handful of different products, which after talking with them, were none of the things we needed. They informed and directed us to the correct solution until we could get back home to our vet. They we so kind and helpful and your store should do everything it can to hang on to these two employees. Their kindness, information, and dedication to their work is hard to find. They turned a stressful situation into a pleasurable one. Thank you again, ladies! Your work does not go unnoticed! read more

Great experience with Lisa in the grooming salon. She and her staff were friendly, efficient and my lab enjoyed the experience and feels much more comfortable after her bath and mani/pedi. The online signup was easy and the price was right. We even got a "report card" about the treatments and our dog's response to them. Nice job! read more

This Review is Petsmart online and as a company PetSmart False Cyber Monday AD I purchased blue buffalo online it said it was in stock and ready to ship I never received my order so today I was like hmmm where is my order I go online and see it was canceled no email notification nothing. I called Petsmart and rep told me they canceled my order cause it was out of stock. I told her impossible it said it was in stock and ready to ship in 2-3 days when I placed my order each bag @$36.79 I bought 2. They rep says sorry I can give you only 10% current price $45.99 off and not honor my order that I place like WTH. I witnessed a "groomer" become overly frustrated with a dog a few days ago. She was being very aggressive with the dog. Pushing and being very rough with it. It was a small/medium sized dog. I primarily shop here for my guinea pig supplies and for my dogs food. They are decently priced compared to other local pet stores. They have a great selection of dog food and toys. I usually save a few dollars by using their "pet perks" card. All I do is give them my phone number and it automatically takes the discounts off. Unfortunately the coupons on the receipt are for grooming or training which are services I do not use. I would recommend this store for its small pet and dog supply sections. read more

The only reason this is getting 3 stars is because it's for the entire store. I'll break it down. The cashiers are always wonderful. So pet-loving and always polite. But I literally called today to ask questions about putting my little pup into daycare because I'm picking up more hours at work. The lady literally picks up the phone and goes "yeah?". So I just hung up. Giant attitude for no reason. Would never put my dog in there just because of they way that one lady treated a random customer calling for questions! Terrible customer service. Also kind of frustrating when you're walking around the store and you ask someone for help and they act as if you're stupid. Now that's definitely not ALL the staff, but i've experienced it. I had my goldendoodle groomed there and they said she was matted. I brushed her before taking her to this PetSmart. She did have a few knots but nothing bad. She was very dirty from playing in the mud at the dog park. The did not groom her. THEY SHAVED HER ALMOST BALD. I will never use this grooming service again. read more

I am more than pleased with the loving care and attention that JoJo at Dickson City gives our Molly. After sharing Molly's story before her rescue, I must say that JoJo has never forgotten the extra care that Molly needs whenever we bring her to be groomed. Consistently impressed with Kaylee and her delicate and very professional handling of my senior 17 year old Shetland sheepdog mix. I bought my dogs food there for years until I found that I could get the same brand much cheaper, and delivered to my door. That is not the issue right now. I still used them to have my dogs nails trimmed. Three years ago the price for the service was around nine dollars, and another two for the to file them. Last year the price was raised by two dollars, so the total cost was thirteen dollars. My vet does them for 14 dollars, but they are further away so I still went to PetSmart. NO MORE! Today I went there with my dog and did not ask what the price was. Big mistake! After no longer than 10 minutes, my dog was finished and I was given the bill. I went to the cashier and when I saw what the register said the price was, I was totally shocked!! I was charged $20 plus 1.20 tax for the nail trimming. Total $21.20 for a simple nail trimming I went back to the groomer and questioned the price and was told that the price was raised to $20 a short while ago. All three groomers said they were shocked at the increase!! as was I. That works out to $120 per hour. I WILL NOT BE BACK!! read more

A BICHON KILLED!? I knew that was going to happen... I have begged my parents for YEARS to stop bringing my miniature schnauzer to this grooming salon. I am the one to always bring her there and pick her up. 1. The groomers are NEVER on time, I have had to wait 20 min past her appointment for someone to take her. 2. I have watched these idiots handle the animals, very carelessly & very neglectful. I have watched animals fight in this salon and the staff just watch and panic frantically but do nothing. There should be protocol for when these incidents occur. Instead of quickly handling issues, everyone acts scared & clueless. If they are 'certified' to cut hair, they should be able to handle these situations 3. My dog was there for SEVEN HOURS just for a haircut, bath, nail clipping and ear and teeth cleaning. They blamed over-booking. Which just explains why they have no control over the animals. Too many dogs, not enough help. 4. MY BIGGEST ISSUE is that they do not know how to utilize their tools. My dog has come home with scars and scabs on her ears and legs. I once took her to the vet for a check-up (a few days after being groomed), the veterinarian asked if we cut her hair bc there were a lot of scars on her ears. This place is a waste of money and a danger to our lovely pets. The management should be fired and Corporate needs to bring in new management; they CLEARLY are not hiring certified professionals, AND IF THEY ARE, they are not being monitored properly. They should have a limit of how many animals they can see in a certain time frame. The incident with the dog that was killed by another dog could have been prevented if the right management was implicated. My suggestion: DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG TO PETS SMART IN DICKSON CITY PA. Do not take your dog to Pet Smart in Dickson City for any dog training. This place is a rip off. I took my dog there for their Therapy Dog Class, because it was close, and Pet Smart being a large company I thought it was a reputable place. Think again. I have 2 dogs, one is a retired Therapy Dog, and we were registered with Therapy Dog International, and if your dog is not tested by an authorized trainer for Therapy Dog testing, then you do not have a therapy dog. Pet Smart cannot offer this registration. My Collie is 3 yrs old and he already received his Good Citizens Certificate from another trainer. Actually she did the training, and she tested and passed him, but the certificate comes in the mail. That certificate is required before your dog can be a Therapy Dog. What Pet Smart tells you is required is sketchy at best. They did not ask me for proof of his Good Citizens Certificate, nor was I asked for his shot records. Plus there was a vicious dog in the group that consistently lunged at my dog. I do not blame the dog, as my belief a dog is only as good as its owner and or the trainer. The owner was clueless. I also paid for 6 classes, but only received 5 lessons. I did not have the 1st lesson because I inquired after that class was over. The trainer said it was not important, as it was only an introduction. Still I should not have had to pay for 6 lessons. Rip off #1. The worst Rip off is you will not get what you are paying for. THERAPY DOGS DO NOT COME OUT OF PET SMART IN DICKSON CITY, PA OR ANY PET SMART ANYWHERE. BEWARE. Do your homework. Best place to go is Coal Dogs in Clarks Summit. Mention Pet Smart there, and they will fill you in. read more

I walked in, the woman (who was actually the manager) was checking in a dog. She asked if she could help me, I told her that I wanted to check my dog in, she said ok, I'll be with you in a minute. She took the other dog and began to work on him. I waited there with my dog for 15 more minutes (before I expressed my disgust and left) not one more word was spoken to me. Not "I'm sorry we're running behind, do you mind waiting?" Or "I'll be with you just as soon as I finish up this dog.". NOTHING. Not a word...from anyone. Another girl came up to answer the phone, again, nothing. I stood there watching these girls chat back and forth while my dog was anxiously whining, in which time I witnessed, in an attempt to trim it's nails, one of the girls violently yanking a dog's hind leg back so hard that the poor thing yelped. I understand that some dogs yelp when you try to trim their nails, because mine does the same, but after watching her be so careless, I decided that I had enough. There is no way I would trust these girls with my dog. After expressing my disgust with their lack of service, we left, and I will never go back. read more

After scheduling a grooming appointment through your 1800 number, The Dickson City, PA petsmart called and said they were over booked. They handled the entire situation extremely unprofessionally especially Jo Jo, who was the groomer and Stephanie, the manager. Jo Jo was screaming at me on the phone. I don't think she quite understands that she isn't doing me a favor. I planned to pay well over $200 to get my two very large dogs groomed there. She called me saying that I had to bring one dog in at 8am and the other dog in at 9am or I had to cancel! Is she kidding me? I was going to drive back and forth to PetSmart 4 times and pay good money because their store overbooked? I ended up cancelling the appointments after Stephanie told me that she would not call the other 9am appointments to see if they could come at 8am because they requested Jo Jo. She told me my 2 dogs could come but would have to stay past the 3 hours. Even after I explained that one of my dogs was disabled (only has 3 legs) and has a difficult time at the groomers for 3 hours she still would not call and have the other appointments moved to another time. I had two appointments for a Golden Retriever and a Saint Bernard. She and Jo Jo were very unprofessional and I will be taking my business elsewhere. Your business just lost well over $200 because this situation has handled terribly. I will never return for grooming. read more
