Gwin was very sweet and helpful for us when my boyfriend got some new Cichlids. The fish are seemingly very healthy. They didn't have a lot in stock at the time, but ultimately it made me feel that they do sell a lot. The location was also pretty clean, too! This was my first visit to this location, but I was super happy with the help we received. We will definitely be visiting Gwin again when we are in need of some good and nice sized Cichlids! I did not get to the bathroom; however the store was kept nicely so I can assume they probably are pretty decent. We stopped here last weekend.... we were in the shopping center, and had a few minutes to spare so we decided to pop in to see what was happening and if there were any sales on the items we use for Echo. Sadly there were no sales, and sadly there were only two small cars available for adoption the day we were there. They looked so sad and pitiful. My husband had to run to the restroom.. he said it was awful! Cobwebs everywhere! If you know nothing about training a puppy or you need the very basic commands demonstrated so you can practice them at home this class would possibly work for you. There was no official certified trainer. I felt I received no respect. Class did not start on time. Time seemed a waste just listening to someone talk. read more

Stopped in here to get a few male guppies. The selection wasn't great, and I couldn't find an employee in the fish section (I stood there for about 10 minutes). I ended up leaving to check out Petco - which was pretty awful. Went back to Persmart, had to seek out an employee for help and she seemed to be miserable at work. Really rude. Anyway! I ended up getting three fish to add to my community tank at home. One died the first evening, and another died two days later. My water in the tank was perfect & I acclimated them appropriately. Fingers crossed the last one makes it! But I don't ever plan on going back to this location. read more

I just got a puppy, he's adorable, but he needed some help! Everyone at this location is super friendly and knowledgeable of dog breeds. I have a labradoodle and had to get him groomed. They did an amazing job! They got all the mats out, groomed him appropriately, and had him ready early. I will definitely be taking him back! They also have a wide selection of food, treats and toys. They are reasonably priced as well. I also appreciate being able to have a membership and use those perks. read more

Needed a carrier to pick up foster kitty from boarding at vet. They had a nice selection with everything in the right place to know the correct price. Cashier was friendly and helpful. That she would not sell her a fish because she would just kill it! I tried to speak with a manager but the manager did nothing. By far the worst place I have ever been. I love cats more than a little, and I've adopted three at PetSmart with great success. Their employees who facilitate the adoptions are knowledgeable and caring, allowing us to spend floor time with each kitty to figure out which one wanted to come home with us. Josh, in particular, is so very patient. He's also a cat lover, so even when we go back, we swap stories and show him photos of the kitties who chose us. While not the biggest pet store in town, this place has a good selection of stuff for lots of kinds of animals, including fish, birds, and rodents. It has convenient evening hours, good staff, and frequent veterans discounts. It is my go-to place, mainly because the giant pet stores are kind of fat from town. read more

I brought my two chow chows in for a grooming appointment with Taylor H. If you know how chows are, they have a lot of hair underneath their top coat that can be a pain when it comes to brushing and washing. After picking them up from their appointment I was blown away. Taylor H. went above and beyond to make sure there was no dead fur underneath their top coat. On my journey through new pet parenthood reviews, we take a stop at PetSmart. The best way I can describe it is the Wal-Mart of Pet Stores. The place is big with a wide variety of selection. The prices seem reasonable. But for some items, we found the prices to be better "other places". The biggest thing that stuck out to me, is the lack of help. We are very new at a lot of the puppy stuff. And I'm sure we were wandering around aimlessly with blank stares. But not a single person noticed or asked if we needed help. I do understand that with that many stores and I'm sure employee turnover, you can't spend the money educating all of your employees. But because you have that many stores, one mediocre review won't hurt you either. The place is clean. And as said before, they have a HUGE variety for all types of pets. But I will shop somewhere that I can have questions answered. Maybe I will change my mind once I get more knowledge. But for now, I will go for customer service over saving a few cents (and that is only sometimes). read more

I wish there was a 0 star... I've been trying to get my 7yr old dog groomed for about 6mtgs. Appointments were so far out, I even tried to get him in before his rabies vaccine was out of date. They made me reschedule for being 12min late & had to rebook. But what they had was past his rabies vaccine date. I work Mon-Fri 9am-6pm, its VERY HARD getting him too & from the vet during the week & weekends are almost unavailable for months. Then when I complain, the little rat looking groomer had the nerve to TRY & get smart with me & saying she didn't have a scanner to scan his vaccine tag, that there was no store email to get the vet to send proof too. By then it was past 3:30pm & his appointment was at 3pm & they won't take him if you're 15min late saying that they have to move on to another animal? How? If my appointment was for 1hr & I'm 15min late, what they gonna do with the other 45min? They start another dog in my time slot? What if I was there on time? Would they rush thru my dog to start another one? $57-$61 is a LOT to pay for a bath & haircut that only lasts 1hr. I wish I was paid $50-$60/hr. My dog had been coming here since I got him at 2mths old. When people in the salon changed, these new people have sucked! Anyway, I'm over their passive attention where they act like they can't get my dog in for being 15min late. I spoke to the manager & when I did this chick kept looking at the other one like she wanted to say something. Thats why people/workers get their asses handed to them, their customer service in Garner, NC on Timber Drive, SUCKS! Josh, the manager did NOTHING except try to explain why my matted, lopsided hair cut dog can't get groomed. No LOYALTY for the regular customers of my skin color. 3 stars for me, I like shopping at this place for my reptiles, and some other stuff. They got some really good food and supplies that you need for your animals, but the manager is afraid of snakes. I find that pathetic to hire a guy like that, because the place sells snakes as pets there, so yeah I don't get why he works there, if he's afraid of snakes. Let me just start by saying that this PetSmart has done an excellent job at hiring their staff. I called to inquire about the cats up for adoption, and I spoke with Daisy. She was so helpful and sweet, so I decided PetSmart would be the place to go. Me and my fiancée went in and went straight to look at the cats. While we were looking, Daisy came over and remembered talking to me on the phone. She took us back to look at one little guy, Blazer. We fell in love instantly. She got the adoption process started and was so good at explaining the process and helped us through the entire thing. We went and shopped for all the things he would need, and when we came back to check out, she and Jimmy put his carrier together for us. Every employee we encountered was amazing. This team goes above and beyond and they make the entire trip a good one! Our little guy is home and settled in and doing so well. I love this Petsmart! We always go here to get our dog supplies, and we have also used their grooming center to get our puppy's nails cut and they were great! The people are super friendly and you can tell they really enjoy the animals and helping. Also our dog's nails looked great and she left happy. Truly the worst petsmart I've visited for grooming. Initially I was told sternly by the worker checking me in that the online booking system was "confusing" for the workers and that I had booked the wrong thing. I then had to agree to pay a higher price after booking another price online specifically for my dog. I brushed this off and thought maybe they were just having a stressful day. However, after having my dog for four hours for a bath and light trim, I called to check on him. His full groom usually only takes 4 hours. The groomer assured me he would be done soon and they would call or text me when he was ready. After not receiving a phone call for another hour, I decided to stop by around 5:30. The grooming salon failed to call me and let me know my dog was done being groomed AND that the salon closed at 5 PM. I was very upset to discover the salon had closed up shop and left my dog in back of shop, with no notice to me. When I complained to the worker who had to unlock the door to the grooming salon for me, she was unapologetic and only stated that it was "weird" I didn't receive a call and that they had left my dog. I just moved here and used the petsmart back home, but I will sadly be looking for another local groomer to use. read more

My dog can be very anxious and she never associates bath time as pleasant. Stephanie told me she did great and I am so relieved to have found someone who listened to the style I asked for! Was a great store and had a great pet training staff but the grooming staff is like a guy with dry humor on stand up night, its a joke.
