Not exactly my fav location. The girl in the back by the fish and reptiles I didn't even know worked there- she was on her phone the entire stay. She finally asked if we needed help and I was shocked at my realization she was an employee. The guy at the front was awesome, and sure kind. I really enjoyed his chat with me and he was very excited to help. They were not well stocked in fish and animals. This was more of a modern looking location inside. The bathrooms also were not very clean and smelled like ammonia. I wasn't a fan of that. This is not my favorite location and I probably won't go back here unless it was a dire need. I may try it one more time, but hard to say. read more

I came in with my dogs the other day for fun and to buys some treats. The problem was, when I went to pay for these treats, the computer glitched and even though the POC swiping part said it was approved, it wasn't coming up on their computer. So they reset everything and told me to try the payment again. And I told them I had already been charged on my account, the amount had been taken off my Apple Pay. She then called Someone over to "fix" the problem. I don't know who the person is, but she was not friendly and maybe shouldn't be working in the front with customers. I was treated like I was being difficult because I didn't want to get charged twice. I ended up swiping again, because I'm not trying to steal anything, but then the transaction was showing up twice on my account. I was assured that it would fall off, any extra pending payments do.(Also, I heard them talking about how often they're having computer problems, so it's not a new issue.) And if it didn't, I just have to come in and they'll fix it. Great. Now I'm left with an errand and unfinished business. Big surprise, I just had to go in again today to get the refund since they indeed left the charge on t here. Except now I have to sit here watching my account to make sure it does show up. I'm guessing if it doesn't, I'll need to make a call. Oh, and the "fixer" was there again. About as helpful as she was the first time, didn't make eye contact with me and was non apologetic for the waste of my time. I'd advise people to buy from any other place, no point in going to brick and mortar stores if you're not getting good customer service anyways. read more

They could close. That would help immensely. They treat their employees, or at least the ones they don't want around, like the animals they are supposed to be treating. They don't train and when you aren't sure you are doing something right they reprimand them. Intimidation is their rule. For the most part people, why would you want to use a business that overcharges. You can go to any veterinary practice in this area and get better care and get offered more services. Doesn't make any sense. Apparently people have more money to blow than I do. Alot of new businesses will be opening soon in this area. Give them a shot or use a local veterinarian. This place is owned by M & M Mars. Do you really think they need any more money. Nope. I didn't think so. read more

We have used this Petsmart for grooming services and for purchasing treats, toys, etc. We've used their grooming services on weekday nights, and they have always questioned if they can finish a husky in 4 hours, but somehow they always manage to. He may be a little damp when he comes home, but it's nothing a towel down and hand blow dryer can't fix :) The one downside has been with electronic coupons on their website or RetailMeNot. They always put up a fuss! Other than that, experiences have been pleasant and employees have been helpful. read more

Recently dropped my dog off to get groomed here. They did a great job. My dog is several years old, and never had this done before, so I wasn't sure how he would react. They were able to handle any issues that came up and he did great. I'll definitely bring him back to be groomed again as shedding season comes nearer! The staff in the normal section of the store were knowledgeable and friendly. The only downside is that the manager did NOT want to honor a coupon we had and was very unfriendly when we presented it. I live 40 minutes from this location, and I drive here 2 times a month to get things for my fish and my dogs. I will never shop here again. I went to get a nail finder for my dog, I was looking at them And noticed all of the prices were insanely high.. like we are talking 50-70 dollars. I got one that was stocked and the price under it said 24.99 I go to check out it scans 39.99. I really needed it so I checked out but something didn't feel right. So I got back to the store and try to find this nail grinder price tag (brand was conair) and guess what.. THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE A PRICE TAG UP. So I ask the cashier (who was rude from the beginning) and she said "oh well the TopPaw brand nail clipper is the same price as the conair" and I said "but they are different brands you should have a price tag for that brand" she rolled her eyes at me and gave me my refund. I asked for the manager and she informed me that she was the manager. After this I went to petco across town and got one for 12.99. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

Best of all, after adopting my sweet little Roxie from the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, I received an adoption package worth about $160 free of charge online to use in the store. Included was free dog food, 20% off my purchase, $10 off grooming, a free training session and more! Jenny from the Grooming salon was extra sweet when I took my Roxie to get her first bath post-adoption. Although Jenny and her staff weren't able to bathe her due to her being too shy, they get an A for effort. I'll take her back in a few weeks to try again. Roxie and I like PetSmart. PetSmart usually has just what I need when searching for items for my little doggy. We've been together now for about 9 years so, I pretty much has what she needs down to a science... that and PetMD have saved us a bunch of bucks in the long run. Of course, I'm not saying do not take your animal to the vet ... I'm only saying there's probably a local option nearby for a cheaper price. ‍ Not to mention, they have their own pet hospital on site. Sounds like a win.. read more

This location is awful with there pricing nothing is in the correct location, I was going to purchase a dog crate, went to check out and it rang up almost 30 dollars more than what the tag where several are located when I mentioned this all they claim was that is was in the wrong spot. I have taken my dog which is a 8 year old shih Tzu to Petsmart for years for grooming. This customer services over the years has gotten absolutely terrible. I took him to get a bath and his face trimmed today and I have always used the hemp shampoo. Today when I picked him up he did not smell anything like the hemp shampoo. And his face was not trimmed at all. When I asked the groomer Alley to please cut the hair from his face I was told that he would not let her and that it was unsafe. All while she is packing to go head home. He has never refused a cut or trim. A few months ago I asked for a cut and they completely shaved his body and face but now he is refusing a trim with scissors. I asked for the manger and I was told that it was not one that she was gone for the day and I picked him up at 4pm. Nobody told me when I was called to pick him up that they couldn't trim his face. I asked for a receipt I knew something was not right when the price was less than what I usually pay. Well there was no charge for the hemp shampoo. They did not use what I asked for. If you just wanted to throw your hard earn money away, want rude customer service, and your fur baby half groomed this is the place to go. read more

I stopped by here to get some dog food and as I was at the register I noticed that the cashier just didn't want to be bothered like when you go to most stores cashiers ask you for your general information when you are about to make a purchase or if your a regular at any store it's all ready in the system and when she miss spelled my name wrong multiple times I asked her could she go back and fix it and she acted like it was such a huge bother for her even though she missed spelled it. Last month I brought my dog to the Pet Smart groomer in Trussville, AL, to be groomed. His hair and nails were supposed to be cut. Jasmine McDaniels was the groom. My appointment was at 9:30. She told me she was supposed to be at work at 9:00, but she wouldn't get their until 9:30. Her co-worker said should have been at work at 8:30. Jasmine didn't get to work until 10:30 that day. My dog's grooming took longer than normal, so I called. This must have upset her. Now, Jasmine never told me about an upcharge or mats being on my dog's face when I called and there was no price for the service on the form when I dropped my dog off. When I came back to pick my dog up, I was charged $26 dollars more than I was before. When I asked her about the price, she became rude and shouted at me saying, "That's the price on the paper!" When I got my dog back, the hair on his face was lopsided, one ear was longer than the other, his back legs hair wasn't cut at all and his nails were not cut either. I have pictures proving this at the time. My dog looked traumatized when I picked him up. Jasmine Daniels was late for her appointment, charged me $26 more, never told me the price before she did the work or write the price down on the form, never told me about the mats when I called or that there would be an upcharge, and she gave him the WORST cut he's ever had since I brought him to this place. Because the staff at this location has changed dramatically, and they have the worst attitudes, rudeness, and lack of care for your pets, I don't recommend anyone to bring their pet to this location. I really don't like this store. The employees act like they should be working at a Walmart, they know nothing, and the grooming area is the worst. Their excessively pissy attitudes and the bad job they did on my dog almost made me walk out without paying. His nails were far worse walking out than in. they were so jagged and one even had a hang nail. I went elsewhere to get it all redone and he looked far better, not to mention the prices were better as well. I was also very upset to walk into an adoption event and one German Shepard was way too big for the cage.... poor thing couldn't even stand up! I will never shop here again. I bought four tropical fish the total price being a little over $50. Well when I bought the fish I was told there was a 14 day guarantee if one of the Fish died. Well I get home in a few days later (like four or five days) One of my fish die. So I do what anyone would do and get my fish out of the tank And throw it away so the other fish don't get sick. Well I called Petsmart a few days later because their hours have changed due to the Covid. I'm told without the fishes body and receipt they will not replace the fish. So with that being said the manager did absolutely nothing to try to solve the problem he got on the phone and told me there's nothing he could do if I didn't have the body and the receipt. I have the receipt, no one told me I needed a body when I bought the fish. So even though something is their fault they won't replace the fish. This is my first time buying from that location and I will not return. It would've been different if I would have known I had to keep the body. But I was never told anything beyond there's a 14 day guarantee. I would not recommend this location to anyone. read more

Ok pet lovers if you love your furry companion then think twice about Pet smart in Trussville. I am not sure what's going in but i have been taking my best friend to this establishment for 6 years, every sine my dog was 1 year old. I have had 4 different groomers and they have all been wonderful. Recently my groomer quit to move out of the area and every since then the service has been bad. The new groomer schedules appointments and then cancels, and today the person that was suppose to groom her was not even at work. Now I take my dog to these people every two weeks and I pay good money. My dog is little and has never received a bad report in six years!!!!Today the girl who said she could do her said she tried to bite her. I am so mad that I am not going to name names but I am going to come back and list the name of the idiot that got an attitude! The new people are horrible. read more
