Pets at Home is in the St Margarets retail park near Hobbycraft, on the opposite side of the dual carriageway to Sainsburys. There is plenty of free car parking spaces outside. It is a really big shop, with all sorts of different dog food, cat food and stuff like sawdust for smaller animals. They have some animals there that they sell, and if you have children, you will probably find that they like looking round at the guinea pigs or the fish. The staff there are pleasant and helpful enough, but possibly not quite so knowledgeable as staff in smaller pet shops. The prices are alright, but not especially cheap. read more

I really like all of the Pets at Home stores, especially the huge Swindon one. They have a good selection of animals but unlike some other pet shops they have really nice living quarters for them, with lots of room to play, places to hide etc. I also like the way they have an adoption centre so if anyone has a small pet they cant look after anymore they can take them there and people going into the pet shop to buy a new pet can re-home an unwanted one instead. I think its a lovely idea, as the animals get more potential new owners than they would at an animal rescue. For pet supplies such as sawdust, hay etc, I find Pets at Home to be a tiny bit on the expensive side but for choice, layout of store etc they score very highly with me. I am a bit confused as to why people take their dogs in their though - whats the point?! Do they choose their own food?! And I think it probably scares the small animals they have for sale. read more

Pets at Home is a great pet shop in the st margarets retail park in Swindon. It has everything you need for a pet inside, they sell a range of different animals such as Hamsters, Fish, Guinea Pigs, Rabbits and have started kits for each one to help you get on your way with a new pet. We use the store for our 8 month old puppy and get her food and treats here. They have a huge range of toys for our dog which is great and sell some novelty things such as dog coats and shoes. Some items in store can be quite pricey. The staff here are pleasant but dont always seem to know that much about the background of the animals. read more

Good size store, but having discovered an independent store nearby, i have noticed that their prices are much cheaper than Pets at home..Also the staff seemed more knowledgable at the independent store , but i guess thats the way all these superstores are these days. its all glitz and hype. I prefer to shop at independents anyway..otherwise you lose the choice they give read more

great shop for all your pets needs, we have a snake an 2 dogs 1 cat and an iguana, there feeding requirements are well catered for in this shop, where the staff are so friendly. read more
