You can find most of your basics at the attached convenience store as well! Don't mind the door, this gas station locks after hours, so you just have to get buzzed in.

I don't need much from a gas station and this place delivers on all counts…read more First off, it's one of only a few actual gas stations downtown. Really, I can only think of one or two others. And it's a gas station. Which, I realize, sounds repetitive but I mean that it's not a mechanic's shop or a car wash or "power station." You drive up, you gas up, you pay and then you go. You can pay at the pump (and at certain times of the day that's the only option) or inside. The selection in the convenience store half of the gas station isn't huge but again, I like that. Play to your strengths!

A member of the 'Gas corner' I call it, here in Clayton Park…read more Just like the good old days when gas was under the price of a cup of coffee (per litre), there are three competing gas stations here that sit within a stones throw of each other. This Petro Can is the middle child of the three.. and shows it. They have a great selection of your typical gas station fare, combined with some over priced options as a sort of convenience store grocery. The gas pumps are usually good to work, they have had some issues with their debit machines before which can cause a nightmare in the early hours trying to tell them you will be back. When the clock strikes 9 - 10 now.. they do close the store.. and all business is done through a metal drawer that the clerk passes back and forth through the window. There hasn't been any crime here as far as I know, but I guess you can never be too safe. A nice clean store, with gas. What more can you expect from a gas station?

We are avid Air Miles collectors and buy all our gas from Shell…read more Though this Shell can be hit or miss sometimes, I find it to be rather friendly service and Eddie is great to chat with! It has different hours than most nearby gas stations and isn't open past 10 (sometimes earlier on the weekends), but it's worth stoping by during weekdays when we usually need to fill up anyways. The pumps are older design, so no pay at the pump, and no full service, but everything in this day and age is so instant, it's nice to go in and chat with the attendant.

I usually like to fill up on Shell gas, but the service at this station leads me to more convenient…read moregas stations nearby. It seems like everytime I stop by here to get gas, the pumps are either inefficient (ie. most of them are "out of service"), or they are closed altogether (the place closes extremely early considering it's a gas station, and the other service stations in the area remain open late into the night). Also, the gas station has an old-fashioned design, meaning there is no option to "pay at the pump" when you're in a hurry or when there are line-ups at the pumps. Maybe a trivial thing, but it's an inconvience no less.

Canadian Tire is usually the place I go to buy my oil and gadgets for my vehicle…read more On this occasion I needed oil. This was my first time in this store and I was running late for an appointment. This always seems to be the time, when in a hurry, you can not find what you are looking for. Thank goodness I found a staff member, he helped me get the antifreeze and oil I needed. So a good solid four star for that. Also when I went to the checkout, the previous lady forgot her slip. The cashier actually walked the slip out to the parking lot to give it to her. Now that is customer service!

I've stopped in a few times to grab some treats for the road. They have a limited variety and supply of goods for sale, mainly a few different flavors of chips, candy and pop, pretty much what you would expect from a gas station. The real draw for people to Petro-Canada is the fact that they have a CAA approved auto service center at this location as well. This is where my dad takes his car to get it inspected because he says they are quicker and cheaper than any where else he's gone. Just drive around the shack up to the little window, yell out your cancer stick brand of choice, and pay the kindly cashier before taking off. This is a really small, bare-bones kind of convenience store. You could barely fit five people in the whole place, yet it warrants two on-duty cashiers most of the time and a full-time security guard. A small chip and chocolate bar rack, rickety pop coolers, a nickel-candy bar, and a wide selection of cigarettes are pretty much all that stocks this joint. However, if you're in the know, then this is the place to go to light up your festivities. The "back" of the place houses a huge selection of fireworks. And I don't mean no rinky-dink bottle rockets or cherry bombs, although those are available too. I mean, floor-to-ceiling shelves of large boxes and tubes of 25 metre spread fireworks with names like Electric Blue Dog and Acid Rain. They also sell the big firework sets you can find at Costco and other stores, but this is really the place to go to find those one-of-a-kind boom tubes that'll really give your party some flair.
