This beachside restaurant just off the marina in Palamos serves excellent seafood at appropriate prices.
Because I'm not the biggest seafood fan, I can't wax poetic about the mussels a la vapor or the calamari. But my friends, who love seafood, absolutely devoured it all down.
The thing I tried for the first time ever: the Gambas de Palamos. These are huge shrimp, and are only found in this part of the Costa Brava. I was instructed on how to snap off the head, and suck in the juices. Yes, it was good - but it's still not my thing. And the way my friend was talking about it as though it was orgasmic... well, how unfair is it of me to deny her of such pleasure? I gladly gave her my second shrimp. And she gladly sucked that head.
The market price that day on a serving of 6 gambas was 38 Euros. Pricey, but considering that our entire bill including 2 bottles of wine, and 4 other plates and desserts was 147 Euros, I'd say the Petit Bar Restaurant offers fair prices. read more
