Thank you for taking the time to read about my experience.
I don't normally write reviews like this, but I feel other pet owners deserve to know what happened.
After my visit, the manager from Petfolk Missouri City called me. Unfortunately, instead of listening to my concerns or trying to understand why I left so upset, the conversation focused on defending the clinic and explaining why the recommendations made during my visit were appropriate. I felt my concerns were dismissed throughout the call and I should have never had to raise my voice for a manager to listen to me. When I respectfully shared my perspective based on my 20yrs years working in animal rescue and the pet care industry. The conversation became unproductive, and the manager ultimately hung up on me. That interaction only reinforced my decision to leave the clinic when I did.
My original experience was just as disappointing.
I brought my diabetic dog to Petfolk because my usual urgent care clinic wasn't open yet. I made an appointment, expecting my pet would be seen promptly. Instead, after briefly explaining why we were there, I immediately felt pressured into discussing approximately $3,000 worth of recommended testing before my dog had even been examined. Based on my own experience in animal rescue and pet care, I wasn't comfortable with those recommendations.
After that, we sat in the exam room for nearly 50 minutes without seeing a veterinarian. A technician eventually returned and told us it would be at least another 30 minutes. Because my dog is diabetic and needed her scheduled snack to avoid her blood sugar dropping, I explained that I couldn't safely wait any longer.
The technician left to speak with the veterinarian and came back with a simple response: "The doctor said you can leave if you want."
There was no apology for the delay, no attempt to accommodate my dog's medical needs, and no effort to have the veterinarian briefly evaluate her before we left. I walked away feeling that my pet's health was not the priority.
After leaving, I went to Local Urgent Vet Care in Sienna, where Dr. William "Bill" Hodges provided an outstanding experience. He took the time to examine my dog, answered my questions, treated us with kindness and respect, and confirmed that the extensive testing recommended elsewhere was not necessary for her condition.
Every pet owner has to make their own decisions, but based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend Petfolk Missouri City. Between the disappointing visit and the manager's handling of my concerns afterward, I will not be returning read more
