St Bernard's is a wonderful place for your pet care…read more We were blessed to have our two pets for 18 years, and they took great care of them with regular checkups. But where they shine for us was in there compassionate care toward the end of their lives. If you love your pet and have them as long as we did, you know they become part of the family and their loss is greatly missed. Saint Bernards was so wonderful at the end of both the pets lives, and then we were really touched that they sent a condolences card After they passed. Thank you, Saint Bernards for your compassion.

Horrible experience they could even draw blood from a 14 pound Corgi puppy for a heartworm test…read more My husband brought in him and they said he needed to be sedated with two different medicines. I gave him the medicines as instructed and they still could not get his blood drawn for a heart worm test and wanted to keep him all day and fully sedate him which I said no to and told them I would elsewhere. Additionally this is after I was the VCA care club plan and now have to pay several more months and they wanted to charge $167.10 for the Heartworm Test. I took him to another vet and they were able to get his blood drawn for the heartworm test without any medication. The new vet was less expensive for the office visit and heartworm test than what VCA wanted to charge for just the heartworm test.

My cat was seen in the office in February, May and they promised me they would provide his prescription medication at both visits. I shouldn't have to pay $300 every other month for a refill. So, I have an appointment Friday, August 14th @ 8:00 AM for the same medication that should've been prescribed in February & May. They don't care if my cat dies, I have to bring him into the office and pay for an office visit for the prescription!!! Also, IF the particular doctor is not in the office when your animal needs them, the other doctors cannot call in a prescription for your animal!!

From the very first moment we reached out to The Hospice Vet to the heartbreaking final goodbye,…read morethe compassion Dr. Melissa and her team showed us was extraordinary. Because of her gentle guidance and unwavering kindness, we were able to help our sweet Piper transition with a calmness and love that felt almost sacred. When Dr. Melissa arrived at our home, she came with warmth, hugs, and the reassurance our breaking hearts desperately needed -- that we were making the right choice, at the right time, for our girl. She didn't rush a single second. She learned who Piper was, honored her spirit, and gave us all the space we needed to breathe, to cry, to hold on, and to let go. She walked us through every step with such tenderness, answering every question, easing every fear. In one of the most painful moments of our lives, she created a sense of peace we didn't know was possible. Having Dr. Melissa with us that day was a blessing we will never forget. She is, in every sense of the word, an angel. ~Jon & Julie

Exceptional Care at First Coast Veterinary!!!!…read more I can't say enough good things about First Coast Veterinary on Jacksonville Drive. They have taken such wonderful care of Abby, especially after her major foot surgery. From the moment we walked in, the staff was compassionate, patient, and truly committed to helping her heal. Dr. Vukich was THE MAN. He listened to us when we voiced our concerns, he shared his thoughts and suggested course of action, and we had shared decision making. Jessica, one of the vet techs, was super sweet as well. Very understanding of our concerns and made sure we knew we could call at anytime for updates. The people at the front desk and others we interacted with were at times dismissive of our concerns, but thank goodness Dr. Vukich listened to our concerns and saved our kitty!

Both Dr. Hightman and Dr. Sadderson are not only knowledgeable but also compassionate and I've always felt my pets were in the very best hands with them. I've had lots of medical things come up with my Doberman and she's always been taken care of and all problems have been resolved. From anemia, to injuries, to random issues. I've seen some reviews mentioning rude front staff but that has never been my experience. Every time I've come in, the staff has been kind, helpful and welcoming. I think it's important to remember that kindness goes both ways. if you treat people with respect, you're much more likely to get it in return. Even if someone has a bad day, maybe just be kind regardless and see how that shifts the tone. The ladies at the office are actually my favorite to interact with, so I'm just really surprised why others would say otherwise. Over the years this clinic has consistently gone above and beyond for me and my pets. I'm so grateful to have a vet I can trust and a team that truly cares. I highly recommend them!
