Attended a soap-making class in the herb farm's soap shop this past Saturday. Not only was the instructor, Deb Doubek, the herb farm's owner, excellent in her knowledge, and in the clarity of her explanations and demonstrations, she was friendly, tactful, patient, and caring. She obviously knows her subject and how to teach it. In attendance were people from West Bend, Porterfield, and Marinette, Wisconsin. I think we were all equally entranced as we made the soap, explored the farm, and left with completed soap in hand. I plan to attend her classes on oils, creams, and salves, and highly recommend her teachings. read more

History
Established in 2008.
Many people ask us how we got started in soap making. Soap making was really an off shoot of Deb's love of herbs. We have 10 raised herb gardens and we were searching for a way to put all those good herbs to use. Our business is home-based on our 3rd generation farm that was previously owned by Deb's Father and Grandfather. We use many of the herbs we grow on the farm directly in our skin products.
Meet the Business Owner: Deb D.
Deb is a Northern Lights Master Gardener Volunteer with a specialty in herb gardening. She has taught soap making and herbal skin care classes for the NLMG group at the University of Wisconsin Marinette campus and has taught classes at local businesses revolving around culinary herbs. Classes are also provided in the soap shop at Peterman Brook Herb Farm. Deb is currently taking and herbal certification course and continues to learn every day from the plants and essential oils she uses in the soap making process.
