It's not that they're uncommon around the area, it's more that we've never been able to find them when we're hungry. However, this one happened to be at the right place at the right time, and the three of us pulled in to take a look. It was parked in the parking lot at Warner's Vineyard, and is apparently a fixture there for the concerts and things they play, not to mention other days of the week. The menu, however, is full of things one wouldn't expect to find outside of somewhere like Grand Rapids. Conch? Soft-shell crab? In Paw Paw? Well... hopefully this place can get the word out, because I know we have a lot of foodies around! Unfortunately, as much as I'd love to be adventurous, hunger won out, and I ended up trying the hamburger, while my sister got the Italian Beef sandwich- both of which came with a mound of fries that my niece seemed to have an eye for annihilating. It did take a while for everything to cook, but there's a nice little area with a decent-sized river running through it that you can watch (it desperately needs picnic tables or SOMETHING, that area is too pretty to not take advantage of!). I'd be a tad careful about sitting- there were leftover fishing bobbers in the grass, and I can't be too sure there weren't fishhooks or something there. But finally, our food was made and ready and we paid for it, and retreated to the car to sample. The burger was nice and juicy, and had plenty of toppings to it- yet the bun was nice and good and though slightly toasted, not to the point of falling apart. The Italian Beef sandwich was loaded full of yummy beef, and the smell of it was just plain amazing. The french fries were really, really good- they were the kind that's slightly firm on the outside, but full of fluffy potato goodness- not crunchy, but solid enough to stand up to ketchup and still not end up all crunchy. Both sandwiches came with a lot more in the way of french fries than it showed in the pictures- they're niece-approved and she went through a few solid handfuls of them. But the first thing my sister said after tasting her sandwich was "Mmmmmm!"- she was really impressed by the flavor of the beef, and it was a huge sandwich, too! The burger was also really juicy and wonderful, to the point where I was just dipping it in ketchup and practically inhaling it. It's bigger and thicker than I was used to in a burger, and it even passed the bun test- I could hold it and dip it with one hand and not have everything droop and fall out of the bun all over the box/my lap/whatever else I had there. About the only caveat I have is that this place IS a food truck, so it's kind of expensive- the burger with fries ran us ten bucks, and the Italian Beef was twelve bucks- in all, our bill was about $26 for two people and one fry-inhaling six-year-old- but on the other hand, the food is REALLY, REALLY good. If you're in the area, or even just passing through, check this truck out and pass the word- you won't be disappointed! Be sure to check out their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CurbingYourAppetite/ to find out what musical acts are coming soon- and for yummy reminders like when their prime rib or barbecue ribs are coming out of the oven!

I did not know that delicious seafood and fresh baked breads could come out of such a small truck!…read more The ladies that work here are so sweet, and make the effort to get to know every customer by name. If you are nice, maybe they will give you a sample of the Ceviche with fresh herbs and lime. Today, I was fortunate enough to have the Baked Brie in Croissant--- served with a side of their famous Mango Chutney. It was heavenly! The Seafood Gumbo is packed with tender bits of seafood and okra, serviced with a side of rice. The shrimp, scallops, chicken, sausage, and squid were so tender and fresh. The rice is even fragrant and expertly cooked! They pride themselves on their famous Wild Salmon, which is richer and more natural tasting than the stuff you buy from the grocery store. The service is friendly, organized, and fast. With food trucks, I normally have to double check everything, but at Curb Your Appetite everything has been perfect so far. https://www.facebook.com/CurbingYourAppetite/info
