I had an awful experience here. The woman who runs this dry cleaner seems pleasant at first, but as…read moresoon as she had to deal with a problem, she became rude, condescending, and extremely unprofessional. I came in to have a pair of shorts altered. When they were ready, the back of the shorts was bunched in the middle, making it look like the shorts were permanently wedged in an awkward place. When I pointed this out to the owner, she looked at it for a minute but then said that she could not fix it. I asked for a refund since the shorts were now unwearable. She began to berate me in a loud voice, talking over me for the next thirty minutes. When I tried to explain to her why I couldn't wear the shorts, she responded "That's your problem, not my problem." She also told me "You do not think" and "I'm going to educate you about how things work." I became visibly upset and asked her to please stop speaking to me this way and just to refund my money. She said no again and "People like you only think about yourself." This personal attack came completely out of nowhere and felt very unprofessional. In the end, she only gave me half of my money back, and I'm left with a pair of shorts that I still can't wear. I wish I'd never trusted this place with my clothing. I do not recommend having alterations or dry cleaning done here. Instead of correcting a mistake, they will attack you and blame you for the problem.

I would give them a 0 if I could. Requestd to see a dog that…read morewas available in March 2026. They asked a million questions, which was fine. But a year ago we looked a pup of theirs that had serious hidden health issues. These were not revealed until we found them ourselves in the medical record. We did not take the pup. We just lost 2 of our own and the heartbreak would have been too much. After realizing that we didn't take the dog a year ago, they told us we could NEVER adopt from them because of that incident. I feel sorry for the animals. I also left them a substantial amount of money in my will, several years ago. That will be changed immediately.

We saw an adoption flyer for a deaf dog at Newtown Bagel on March 4th, submitted our application…read morethe same day, then had a home visit from a representative on the 7th. I really appreciated the time their team took to ensure we were a safe and loving home, rather than simply sending dogs off to an unknown and unvetted environment. Everyone we spoke to leading up to actually meeting Jake was incredibly kind and helpful, answered any questions we had and took the time to learn about our existing pets and family dynamic. It made me feel comfortable and confident in CAS as a rescue, based on my own experience volunteering, fostering, and rescuing with numerous organizations over the years. When we had to ask to extend the timeline due to unforeseen events, CAS was incredibly patient and lenient with us so we wouldn't miss out on meeting him. We met Jake at Golden Paws on the 13th where he was boarding (Thank you so much to everyone there for your love and care while he was with you! We will be back for grooming, but that's a separate review!) on the 13th and he came home with us to start his happily ever after. We've been working on teaching hand signals (he knows sit, stay, down, paw, spin, and more every day!) and leash manners. Jake has some behaviors we'll be reshaping but he's already such a fantastic addition to our home. We have absolute faith that, within a few weeks, he'll feel like he's been with us his entire life. What really stands out to me about CAS is their dedication to keeping in touch with families, the resources they provide, and the amount of communication they're open to having. There were times I felt I was oversharing but the team at CAS are dog people - and dog people are the best people. My family is so thankful to CAS for connecting us with Jake. He made himself at home very quickly, was given a clean bill of health by our personal vet, and is becoming a local celebrity around town for his size, lovable nature (with both humans and other dogs!), and 'deaf dog' vest. We'll continue to support CAS as best we can so they can place other dogs like Jake into other loving homes just like ours. Thank you SO MUCH, CAS!!!!
