Unprofessional, Unethical, Unresponsive…read more My husband and I used Craig Campbell of Rockwell Realty to purchase our first house together. Craig is quite affable and appeared quite knowledgeable about the real estate/mortgage market. Unfortunately, over the course of the 3-4 months we worked with him, he proved to be unknowledgeable, lazy, unprofessional and unethical. As a first-time home buyer I made it clear that I didn't know what questions to ask or what I didn't know so for Craig and anyone working with me, I requested a very hands-on approach; I want to know everything about the process. Early on, Craig did the bare minimum required to work with us. When we wanted to see houses on the weekend he would often say yes and then cancel. He'd say he'd call and then not get back to us. He was not terribly knowledgeable about Seattle nor was he willing to show us Eastside neighborhoods. This all made for an exceptionally stressful buying process. At the start of working together, Craig agreed to pay an agent referral fee to my sister of 25%, a common practice among agents. Since my sister was crediting the money back to us, Craig agreed that the fee would be placed towards closing costs. The day we went to sign papers, I called Craig to double-check the referral fee would be included. He said yes. When I arrived, the Escrow house said he had not filled out any papers and no money was applied. I texted him as such. He said his assistant "forgot." To date, we have not received this promised money. My sister made several efforts to contact Craig and his manager, Jim Rockwell, to discuss the situation and next steps. Craig promised me he would "make this right" but has been silent on the matter, not returning emails or messages. Mr. Rockwell, only under knowledge of an impending negative Yelp review, condescended to speak to Craig. We have not heard back from either one.
