If I could leave a 0 or a negative review I would. Made an appointment to get my senior disabled dog groomed. They called us and moved the appointment up with a new groomer bc they had an opening. She got examined and I talked them about her skin condition that is non contagious and that her hair on her eyes was matted bc of her allergies and conditions. They said okay and we left her. 20 mins later the groomer (Morgan) calls & said she doesn't feel comfortable cutting my dogs hair and the manager says this is there policy with senior dogs which I don't believe. Then I tried to see if I could try a new groomer that felt comfortable with her and they said no. Morgan knew her age and condition to begin with. All other petsmart & private salons treat my senior baby with love and care and get the job done. If you ask me they just discriminated against my senior disabled dog. Smh I do not recommend and the manager wasn't helpful at all. read more

I went to Petco, tuckahoe road, in Sewell, NJ......I had to get food for a sick cat. I got some, went to the register and ask the service cashier for further ideas. She was understanding of the issue and recommended to me to consider an additional product which of course benefits PETCO.....I accidentally left my wallet in the store and the same associate secured it in the lost and found and quickly rescued it for me. Rough employees. I returned a pair of nail clippers I found the hard plastic handles very slippery. Most have rubberized textured grips. Lori who works the register informed me I should have training with these clippers because they are for big dogs and she used to be a groomer. WOW, credit my card and shhhhh. I don't care. Highly recommend! I was with my boyfriend as we were planning to just browse for tanks for our frogs. Wendy assisted us and she was FANTASTIC! She is extremely knowledgable and recommended a ensemble deal that they had. She gave us a lot of tips and pointers with the filtration and she practically helped build our new frog tank! We have a cool LED blue light bubbler and the gravel that she recommended goes great with the Blue LED bubbler and the white LED lights from the tank. The air pump is also extremely quiet - I previously purchased a air pump here without any help or recommendation and it was so loud so Wendy make a great recommendation! Overall it was such a pleasant experience, great service and amazing staff - we highly recommend asking for Wendy! We will be back soon for some more decor! read more

I absolutely trust the groomers with my dog. She also comes back to us looking great-evidence by her picture with her stylist/groomer. Have never had a problem making an appointment! Prices are very competitive. Their quick fix- drop in- grooming service (e.g.: nails) is great. read more

I've only been going to this Petco for the past 10 months as it's near my boyfriends house and convenient to stop by when I'm over his house. That being said, anytime I have stopped by during these past months, the employees have been nothing but helpful to us. The place itself is always clean and organized. The employees are always so nice and answer any questions no matter what they're doing. Today in particular, my boyfriend and I impulse bought a Sunfire Djungarian Hamster. We were there for a while and did some research in the store on if this was an actual possibility for us or not and employee Sam was in that section cleaning another animals habitat. She did not hesitate to answer all of our questions, never seemed annoyed that she had to stop and go over stuff with us and she simply gave great advice. She seemed very knowledgeable (her info has been backed up by further research I did when I got home). Sam made this experience very nice and she was just very easy to talk to, made us feel comfortable with the whole process. I couldn't recommend her or this Petco location enough. Just an all around good place and awesome employees!! read more

I urge anyone who loves their fur baby not to take their put here for grooming. I visit this store quite frequently and this is the third time that I saw the technicians laughing, goofing around, and playing on their cell phones while grooming a put. I was absolutely horrified and did call the manager to express my concerns. This will be my third call. I also noticed on of the technicians being very rough with the dog to the point the pup was pulling away and looked scared to death. I felt compelled to write this review because while the mother of this dog had not idea that this was happening, thinking her pup was in good care getting a nice grooming, he was in danger due to the incompetence. The service at this Petco is beyond awful. Was just in here with my girlfriend and younger sister, and we were treated terribly because we are younger. Was told we were not able to reserve a fish by a lazy, rude employee named Trish. We've done this many times before here with no problems. Trish was miserable, lazy and did not want to do her job. Congratulations Trish for pushing 3 loyal customers away from Petco. read more

Walked in on a Friday at 3 pm. Found not a single employee anywhere in the store. Walked entire store got what I needed. Potty stations were unstocked so I couldn't even be a good person and clean up after my dog. Got my stuff walked to the front and found empty registers. Yelled for help and got nothing. Stood for a few min got angry and left. Worse experience in a pet store in area. I also worked for the company for years and know how untrained the management is but they should know to ring people out to get money. Do your research on grooming too they've had issues in the past with thraining and safety. Won't be spending a penny at any petcos from here on out read more

Pretty good pet store although their prices tend to be a little higher on some items. Their small animals and birds look very well cared for in comparison to petsmart, and their aquarium section in the center of the store is nice. I also love the cookie bar for dogs. My baby loves the vanilla creme cookies and "chocolate"chip. The cookies look and smell so good, my dad almost ate them! read more

After taking my dog here for 7 years to get her nails clipped, today I felt like I was being interrogated by the groomer before even starting. After a bunch of questions she told me my dog needed vet approval before being seen b/c I told her, like I do every time I go in, that my dog's leg bothers her and she might need help getting on the table. She told me there were no notes ever left before about it, and because it was a Sunday and the vet is closed I would have to come back. The manager then asked the groomer to do a 7 point check on my dog. He made it sound like a test. Had I know then this was a "courtesy care check" to check that my dog is "healthy" I would have declined. The groomer grabbed each of my dogs front paws without issue, then she tried to grab her back paw that she was sitting on and my dog wasn't happy about it and made a noise (she is a vocal husky). She did it again, and my dog reacted the same and the manager then proceeded to motion with this hand across his neck like he was done. He didn't think I saw this, but then told me they wouldn't do her nails for her own safety. My dog has been complimented on how well she does with getting her nails done, and this guy is now telling me there is something wrong with my dog and won't do business with me. I won't be back and suggest others be critical of the staff if they can't tell the different between a hyper dog and an aggressive dog. Seven years of past service should speak for itself, not an inexperienced groomer doing a bogus courtesy care check on my dog while siting in the front of the store. read more

I love coming to this Petco to see the cats they have up for adoption, buy my puppy toys, and get her food. However, we tried their grooming service a few months back and had a bad experience. They kept my puppy there for over 4 hours where I'm sure she was in a crate 75% of the time. It shouldn't take 4 hours to groom a small puppy and if it is for some reason going to, the staff should let you know ahead of time. I'm really glad we found a new groomer for my puppy because I could tell she was miserable there. read more

twice in the past two years my dog went in for either a haircut or nail trim and came out bleeding. last year, she came out with a 2-inch gash in her armpit. it was nicely cleaned up and they hoped i wouldn't notice, but i did about two hours later when i was on my way to a vacation and unable to go back to the store to complain immediately. it explained why it took an extra hour. they told me that they were cleaning up the dog because she got nervous and pooped all over herself, which she never does, but i believed it. today i just brought her in for a nail trim. the groomer brought her out, placed her on the counter, and as i picked the dog up i saw a smear of blood where she had been standing. now i have to watch and see if she gets an infection. by the way - you think when they sliced her armpit they would have offered a free visit or something - not a chance. they paid the vet bill but that was it. read more

Going to this establishment was always out of our way but we did because Petco is the only store that sells Natural Balance Pet Food, so about a month ago we went to pick up some food we decided to get our dogs nails cut and grinded. Usually we go to Petsmart for grooming because it's closer but since we were already there we decided to give it a try. She came out looking exactly the same as she went in except her nails were shinier. We spent $16 for them to put her on the table and not cut her nails. We ended up taking her to Petsmart after where they properly cut her nails, they said that it looked like Petco had just tried to grind them a lil but did not cut them at all. We decided we would start ordering her food online and to keep going to Petsmart for grooming because Petco has just been a waste of time and money. I'm sure not all Petco's are the same, but this one definitely needs better and more experienced groomers and we will not be going back. read more

Brought my 8 year old dog to Petco for the first time to be groomed. Sabrina took excellent care of Frankie for me. When I checked Frankie in that afternoon, I explained to Sabrina that although Frankie is a sweetheart, she is a rescue dog that was not treated well by her previous owners and she is a little nervous in places that are not firmilar to her. I was very worried about leaving her there but Sabrina listened to all of my concerns and she asked questions about Frankie which made me feel like she really cared about making the experience comfortable for her. I left there with a good feeling about the choice I made. Sabrina called me once to let me know that Frankie was doing fine, not very anxious and also told me how far along they were with the grooming itself. When I went to pick Frankie up, she looked and smelled beautiful. She was also very calm and relaxed. Her fur and nails were cut perfect. I made another appointment with Sabrina right then for my 9 month old puppy. Excellent service!! read more
