I would like to give -0 stars but not possible. The store manager, Tyler has created a toxic environment that drifts down to the employees. I got there with no one at the counter, finally found the "manager" sitting in a workroom. He said he was on lunch and I should just wait. Really? I got a prescription for my dog with one year refills. I have tried to put in an order two times and twice it was denied because the vet said they haven't seen my dog. But they are the one's who put the prescription on my Petco account. I called in to customer service they said it was fixed took my payment and just received another cancellation notice for same reason as above. Total waste of time and money. read more

this big-box pet store doesn't even want to be in business -- or to sell you anything. The overall atmosphere gives off "we'd rather you leave" than "we appreciate your business." To make matters worse, they've made it impossible for paying customers to use the restroom. When I asked, I was told to put down my items, walk next door to another business, use their bathroom, and then come back here to finish my petco shopping. That's completely unreasonable -- especially since California law (effective 2022) requires stores of this type to provide restroom access for customers. It's disappointing to see a company treat basic customer needs as a nuisance. Until they start following the law and showing even minimal customer care, I'll be taking my business (and my pets' needs) elsewhere. read more

Keith was our dog groomer today. He was recommended as having experience w/ goldendoodles and he did a great job! Our dog looked amazing after her bath/ haircut, and the best surprise? She was really mellow on the way home, that shows she was comfortable and he has calm energy. We will request Keith from now on. We go there 1-2 x week and the last two times items are in the wrong location for example this time it was the bird seed that's kept in one section on the end and it's always 10$ this time the bag came up 27.95$ We buy the seed weekly and it's always been 10$ for the large bag the time before the litter was marked clearance 8$ and when I took it up it was 22$. They seem to have forgotten what true customer service is all about Petco owns both the vet and grooming under petcoach so when so when they tell u they are not affiliated it's a lie. Petco brought both companies around 2019 and the owner went on the board of Petco u pay the vet and groomer at the register of Petco yet they told us over and over it's not affiliated what crap! Anyways if the manager actually had any experience or expertise she could have solved our issue yet I suspect they did not want to maybe being over booked my issue was not only did they not tell us it being any paper work but the manager knew we got our shots done the week before because we came to her first and she told us to go make the Appointment for the shots at other register which we did than came back told her when the shots was going. To happen and made appointment 2 weeks later. All she had to do was look at the blue tag which said 2025 has vets name and said VetCo which is company she told us to get our shots. So the whole problem was of her making ignoring the tags like the first person we talked about it with who refused to look at tags he wanted to know when it expired which is again laughable when he should know that if we got shots in 2025 they were good for at least 2025. If the manager had any interest in helping she could have actually performed her management skills by say yo is when u come bs l yo pick up dog can u have the paper work well by time I got bs k from my car I had my phone in hand was about to show them it came form them but she told us to leave I'm not certain terms my question is how do u ran a business like this the fella was onto being a woke police person and the manager decided we had to go before opening her mouth if she was my employee I would have asked her to explain her actions and tried to find out why they we so rude and at that time I might have fired her or made it a training issue but I would have given her a choice to either call the person or ask her to resign in any event something changed since we had been there at least 4 or 5 times and had Pierre groomed by a very nice young lady who we tipped generously since the dog was young and picky . So my issue is they sent me a survey I filled out and tried to explain are feelings in such small space I am not sure I could fill it out correctly and someone called me on Sunday I called back and had to explain to the person her name 3 times and she had no idea who she was until I said she was a supervisor but as of yet I have had no contract. We did spend a lot of money with them but today I spent a few hundred at a different place and ordered a groomer who will come to our home. I am sorry but when u get treated as badly as they treat my wife and I am not sure there is any hope of us ever going back. I really like Petco but some of the workers are not so nice. Today I went to Petco. I was going to ask for assistance in the fish department and I'm about to spend $40-60 on my tank for new fish. I went over to ask for assistance and the employee berated me saying "Back up someone's cat is running around inside the store with no leash!". It's not my fault the owners decided to take their cat without a leash and a dog barked and the cat jumped out of the lady's arm. My purchases were good and I got what I needed. I have been going to this petco for 6+ years and never had a problem with the staff. I have been buying supplies, fish decor, and live plants. I really like this petco and only buy fish here and nowhere else. I will return and keep supporting Petco. We had an issue with two lights we purchased from this location on 7/7-7/8/25 and when my husband called in to ask if they can test another light before we go in to switch it a third time since we wasted gas and time going back and fourth 2times already. Bob one of the managers (DJ & his self said) just laughed at my husband saying why would I do that for you, but once my husband asked him if that was how he treated customers and what is his name. He then switched his attitude stated his name was Pete and said he would test it for us. When I went in to swap it out Bob (/Pete fake name) stated he was laughing at a little dog if so then why would he tell my husband after asking why he was laughing , why he would do that for us. This light also did not work for us and we did call back and spoke with Dj he stated he did try it out and it worked, we ended up getting hung up on and told to go ahead and call corporate. We ended up figuring out by a cashier at another location we called, we had to twist the bulb in a certain way for it to work. I,can't say enough good about this store. First we have been taking our Australian shepherd there to be groomed and the groomer Karolina is the best. She loves our boy and always does a great job of grooming him. The last time he was there we happened to come back early so I was walking around the store. I happened to see our dog on the grooming table as Karolina was working on him. As I watched she kissed him four times. I'am totally sold on this young lady. Also, I can't finish the review without a big shoutout to Jacob, who was so nice helping my wife sign up for Vital Care. It took longer than expected and he was so patient. Upon check out, he not only asked me if I had tried on the harness I was purchasing (even after he and another loss prevention employee had seen me try on several harnesses on in the store doing their "walk arounds"), but as he finally noticed I was waiting patiently to be helped at the register (because he and said loss prevention person were sitting in the small security office looking at the store security camera footage actively looking to see if I had stolen anything) he made the most offensive small talk (which is another technique LP uses to stall a customer they suspect of stealing) including whether my German shepherd were usually cross eyed, or if just "my kind" adopted the cross eyed ones because to match our facial features better. The store is well stocked and organized. A few years back, I bought a second Aqueon fish tank with stand at this location. I come here for all of my aquarium and other pet needs. I politely asked the cashier again for some help with the fish. She was about to say something (possibly I can help in a minute...) but some young punk (stockboy? manager?) appeared and said (butting in, with attitude!) "Oh, we can't do THAT! you will have to wait till at least 12o'clock" like it was my fault. No apologies or explanation. I dropped the basket of supplies that I had picked while futilely waiting and walked out. I will not be back. This is how to operate a store? This is how to talk to a customer? I don't think so! Do not buy pets from these stores, I went in to pick something up and while just looking around came across the Guinea pig cages. These animals are just living in their own poop. It appears no one has cleaned these cages in forever as there is poop all over the floor and also packed down below. Disgusting. Also 2 of Guinea pigs appeared sick or to have an illness as their fur was all messed and they were shaking and making a lot of noises. Took my pup here for a bath for the first time recently. They got him back to me in about 2 and a half hours, which was faster than our normal 4 hour place. They did a good job bathing him. Although, when leaving I noticed a lighter patch of fur on him, and assumed it was just messed up in the moment from being pet. Upon further inspection, somehow he was clipped a bit with a buzzer when he shouldn't have even been near one. They should have told me that happened! Also told the girls not to touch or trim his nails at all, and when I picked him up they told me, "they got the ones they could since he wasn't a fan of his paws being touched." Hence why I said not to do it, and he didn't need his nails trimmed at all! Yet they still tried to trim them anyways. A bit frustrating. I would give 2 & 1/2 stars if I could. read more

Very disappointed in the grooming service at this location! We had been getting our corgi groomed here for a long time, but this most recent time, a few days after his grooming appointment, he was visibly lethargic and not his usual self. We took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with Furunculosis which is an infection that the vet believes was caused by the grooming that was done. To treat this, our poor boy had to be shaved and he needed to be on pain meds and antibiotics, oral and topical. Petco really needs to take a close look at the skills and qualifications of the people they hire in their grooming department, and their sanitary precautions as well. We understand accidents can happen during grooming but when we picked him up that day, they had given no indication that anything out of the ordinary had happened. We will be taking our dog to a different groomer going forward and I would caution others to avoid taking their dog to this grooming department until Petco can make the necessary improvements so that no other dog has to suffer through this in the future. read more

Second time I've brought my dog to be groomed. Both with great results. First time,did the groominator brush treatment to remove his constantly shedding hair. Scheduled an appointment for my dog to get the bathing package. Drove 25 minutes to get here, and was told my dog could not be serviced today because he is on an antibiotic. The website only says that dogs cannot be on sedatives while be serviced, and my dog was not on a sedative. The website does not say that your dog cannot be on any medication. Very frustrating and a waste of time and gas to get here. I understand there has to be regulations, but please put them on your website or let people who schedule an appointment know in advance so they don't drive all the way to Petco just to be told that they cannot be serviced because of something they were not made aware of. read more

I have been bringing my pet to be groomed at this location for more than two years. I brought him in for his cut and they refused to see him as he had a heart murmur. I asked why they had never asked me this prior and they said they should have been. The groomer said they could call my vet and get medical clearance which she did. While we were waiting for my vet I asked to see the manager. I believe her name was Kayla. I asked for my records which she said she might not be able to provide as there was a new system. She then turned around and began talking to the groomers basically ignoring me. I asked he again and she told me in a very rude manner that I could call corporate. I asked her for her card and she refused saying that my name is Kayla (I believe) and that she was the manager of the store. I have been shopping at petco for over 20 years. I have been a loyal customer to the business and rarely if ever have deviated when purchasing products for my pets. This woman could not have been less interested in helping me and was aggressive, rude and belligerent. I will NEVER shop at petco again and they have lost my business. If they put my pet in harms way grooming him when they should not have them I am entitled to the records and an explanation. They state they are Concerned about pet safety and customer satisfaction yet they would not lifer a finger to provide the requested information and were caustic and uncaring. I would not trust the well-being or safety of my pet to this location and if this is the way managers are taught to deal with customers I would say stay away as they clearly did not care about my let's safety for some two years and could not accept accountability of responsibility for their actions. Stay away from this local. They could well put your pet in harms way which could lead to adverse consequences up to and including your pets demise. Buyer and pet lovers beware. I spent about an hour online ordering up seven different items. At the store prominently features same day delivery on its website. They lie. The website for the store confirmed same day delivery r on the computer it verified that every single item I ordered was available for same-day delivery from the store. It wasn't until I wasted an hour and got to check out that I couldn't get same-day delivery. I called customer service who told me that they couldn't get the same day delivery option either. Went to have our Bulldogs groomed, one of which had been there before, and was told that the one who had been there before (with no issues) can't come back because she is a danger to herself. And the other one i was able to pick up after only 30 minutes of me dropping both off. 30 minutes? When i pick both up, the one that was groomed was TOTALLY dry and had no shampoo smell. Are Petco groomers licensed? I really doubt that Brittany is and she should not be allowed to groom any purebred dogs. The photos show what my dog looked like on the way in, and then how Brittany ignorantly shaved all the breed styling and character off my dogs face. She's never explained why, no apology from the manager Carla, and every time I look at my dog now I feel sick. Dana was a great groomer at this Petco, but it's all gone downhill since she left. And the manager, Carla, just makes things worse. I still have no idea why the detailed and clear notes on this dog's file were completely ignored. I don't know why I couldn't see the groomer before or after, and how Petco can feel so irresponsible. Yes, I got a refund, but this is a 4-6 month depressing problem now.
