Went into the store to get some fish. They had Cory Catfish that eat snails in the same tank as some black snails. The snails were all dead. Waited several minutes for help. Had someone paged to help me get a fish and ask about the fish situation. Nobody's showed up. Left after several minutes of waiting. read more

We had 2 grooming appointments we had to reschedule due to a sick family member and a death. Courtney called and instead of being compassionate and showing empathy went directly into being rude and baligerant. She also has her own side hustle called Back Porch Grooming/Groomer that she tells all of the Petco clients about trying to garner business from. We were more than willing to compensate for the appointment changes but not after the rude and disrespectful phone call we received. Terrible store. Always dirty with stocks of food in the aisles. Every time I order online I can never get the discount because after saying the food I order is in stock I get a response the next day or same day saying it's not in stock. This has happened every time I have ordered online. I'm beginning to think they either don't know how to keep inventory or the employees just standing around don't like to fill online orders. The so called manager with green hair is very rude. I was in the Grand Island Nebraska store a week ago and purchased some dog coats. They didn't give me a receipt. Everyone know I save my receipts for everything! I went pack today with my visa print our to show how I purchased them. But before I could say anything it (as not sure if it was a male or female) told me I needed a receipt. I said I never got one. She said there is nothing they can do since I had no proof of purchase. I did my visa copy. It showed the charges and the date. She wouldn't accept that. I said what am I suppose to do. She said there is several places I can donate them to. How rude. I asked for manager and they said they were. I asked for district manager and they said they couldn't give it out. Well that's okay I got it from another store. This store has stuff laying on the floor boxes of stuff in isles. Not clean a place I would take my children or animals to. If she was the so called manager why did they leave a line of people waiting to check out and not call another checker? There was more then 5 of us waiting. You tell us you have to fill out paper work then you will be back to help us. What kind of store is this? I would drive the extra 45 miles to go to Kearney Ne to Petsmart then ever go back in this disorganized filthy store. Petsmart is clean friendly and has better selection. ​ read more

Don't buy fish here unless you're getting help from Johnny! After 20 minutes of waiting for help in aquatics, and asking an associate twice to call someone Jordan finally moseyed on over. He asked everyone besides us if they needed help. As he was walking away my boyfriend caught his attention to get us two snails. The kid proceeds to put less than an inch of water in the bag and drops the snails in. Then he blows air out of his mouth into the bag and literally spins the crap out of the snails. Like the water was actually filled with gunk after he put these snails on the ride of their lives. At the checkout we asked for another associate so we could have the water changed and get more water in the bag. Another 10 minutes goes by and we decide to leave. Not even a block away from the store on of the snails is climbing up the bag out of the inch of water. So we head back to the store. This is where it gets even better! We make sure to find Johnny and told him how Jordan bags fish. He opens the bag and it REAKS! He asked if Jordan ever smelt the snails before bagging them. He didn't. (That's how you know if a snail is dead) Turns out the second shell was completely empty. That gunk he spun out was the remains of the dead snail. There was one other snail of the same breed in the tank, but I had noticed it was upside down so I already suspected it was dead. I was right. Johnny is very educated and has helped us several times before. He is why we have driven to Grand Island for fish rather than kearmehBut this experience is really making PetSmart look like the better option. They have more than one decent employee. read more

I visit this store fairly often for my aquarium decor and maintenance products, but I have been disappointed lately. I travel out of my way to this store (I live in Lexington and work in Kearney), often to see that what I need has not been restocked since my last visit. They have also refuse to price match items for me from online retailers, which wouldn't be a problem if they didn't have signage at the front saying that they price match anything, anywhere. There have also been incidents of the betta cups being filthy; so filthy that the water becomes a brownish grey. That is unacceptable, and though the occurrences are rare, they should not happen at all at a store "where pets come first." I was also fairly upset to hear an employee (who claims to own bettas herself) ask me, as I was buying a large amount of live plants for my betta tanks, "don't your bettas eat your plants?" and "why buy so many? Bettas do better in small containers." Bettas are carnivores/insectivores, firstly, and secondly, no, bettas thrive in 2.5+ gallon tanks with heaters and filtration. Many employees are uneducated, and are spreading misinformation to their customers. If they are doing so with bettas, they are likely doing so with all animals in their store. When the PetSmart in Kearney finally opens, most of my business will probably go there. read more

I love Petco for their friendliness to pets and I am thrilled with their wide range of products. I don't like that they have such huge prices and that their products are sometimes inferior. The dog coats that I purchased from Petco came at a premium price and the little hat was 10 dollars. They didn't undergo hard wear but they fell apart in no time. read more

Petco in-store is always a great experience. However, beware of the Petco on-line pharmacy. Order at your pet's risk. I ordered Heartguard through Petco pharmacy on-line with a special coupon. When it wasn't getting shipped, I called customer support and got someone with a pretty thick accent which is difficult for me to understand. They gave me a phone number and asked me to have my vet call it to expedite the process. I called it to make sure it was legit and the line was busy for over a half hour. Not wanting my vet to experience the same thing, I went on-line (avoiding thick accent) and hit the Chat button. I asked them to cancel my order which seemed to go very well. A day later, my order shipped. Hmmmmm. I'm done with Petco pharmacy. I have better luck with others. read more
