Brought our dog to the groomer there. Normally they're ok. But we received our pup, and they failed to mention that they cut one of his nails too short. I sat in a pool of his blood on the way home with a paper towel against his paw. This is after they and my wife had an exchange over what kind of tip to leave. You wanted a tip after failing to mention that our dog has been bleeding out while waiting for pick-up? That's wild. He's still bleeding and it's been about 20 minutes since pick-up. read more

Unfortunately, I purchased a soft crate without looking at the online reviews. Store policy for online and in store purchase is 30 days. After that, no matter what the issue with the product, defective or not, you are out of luck and out of $80. Worst groomer! They don't know their job! See before and after! My dog looks like a stupid donkey! I have told them I want a round shape beard like in the last photo and I showed them the picture but I get this non-symmetric short beard. I told them to cut the hair in the ears but they didn't and they didn't cut the nails because they said my dog bit the groomer which is a problem I have never heard before from other groomers. My dog looks very sad when I picked him up. Update: their customers service contacted me and refund me. Although I still don't like the grooming but their customers service is good. I will give one more star for that. read more

I came in because I was almost out of my regular dog food and onion one store Carrie's it in town. I discovered that one of the brands that I'll buy (Origen & Acana) are actually carried by Petco so I can use this as a desperate option in the future. My favorite brand still don't compromise by selling at stores like Petco. It wasn't a bad experience, even though their prices are horrendous. I've paid the same prices at locally owned stores. Someone you think of a mass market store being cheaper but it's not and they don't give the same personalized service. Oh well, they had what I need, nationally the brand contributes to local animal charities, and so, I'll come by here whenever I do less than stellar planning. read more

The worst. Groomer from the beginning was not welcoming. Told me I would not have been given the appointment time had I booked a short hair dog cut. The instructions on the booking site were confusing so I put short hair because that's what I wanted them to do - give him a short cut. They knew the breed so if that was a problem they certainly could have reached out and rescheduled. So, I was left with the impression that she did not really want this appointment. If I had not traveled from out of town for the appointment I probably would have left at that point. Second, she told me because this was his first cut she might cut the appt. short if he did not respond well. Again, I got the impression she did not want this appointment. He's a ten pound dog. As expected she could not handle him. Called me after his bath. Said she trimmed his face a little - did not. Also left this hair she cut attached to his back leg. (See pic) Charged be $41 for a bath I could have given him myself. It seems to me if you are a professional groomer you should be able to handle a 10 pound dog. This Petco grooming salon is awful. All of the employees I have come into contact with are pretty rude/non- welcoming. Every time we get our dogs nails trimmed- I question whether it was even done. The last several times my dog clawed my legs up the very next day despite getting their nails trimmed and buffed. On top of that- my golden doodle got the worst haircut/shave that cost $100. He looks patchy and was shaved way shorter than we wanted. Won't be going back despite the convenient location. read more

Nightmare at Petco on Perkins Road!! My Fur Baby was brought out to me still wet, scalped patchy, with strings of hair hanging from his ears, man parts, feet, and over his eyes. His butt area was irritated from the cut, leaving him scratching and rubbing it on something all day. Groomers, Destiny and Brittany (grooming manager) claim he was not compliant and they could not complete the service but still wanted to charge me. I still can't understand why his experience was this awe full as he has been groomed successfully many times in the past. It is obvious they lack the knowledge, skills, compassion and patience needed to work with dogs. Highly disappointed and upset!!! Do not have your animal groomed here. I paid $60 to have my dogs ears plucked and clean, her paw pads trimmed up, the hair in her eyes trimmed, a brush out, and bath. When I got home with her, I noticed they only trimmed the hair in her front paws, and they did not clean or pluck her ears. They completely shaved her snout for no reason. And instead of brushing out the few small knots she did have, they just shaved out a big patch. Her coat is now ugly and all uneven with random patches shaved out of it. They also kennel dry. When I took her back to have her ears and paws done, she was terrified to get out of the car and go back in. **UPDATE***** I just received a call from them and they greatly apologized for what happened, and i was offered a free groom or refund. Although my grooming experience was not good, their customer service is excellent. read more

I highly recommend Bryttany if you need a groomer. We came to town from San Diego and really needed our two huskies groomed because they were having trouble with their winter coats and just had wet dog smell from the rain here. She took her time with them and I know they were quite the handful for her as they were typical husky dramatic. They have never smelled better and looked better after grooming than they did with her. Our male has always had a rough coat but he is the softest he's ever been in years. Definitely recommend bringing your pups who need grooming to see her! read more

Anna had been very sweet and knowledgeable about the hamsters and their general characteristics and temperament. I went into this Petco recently and when I went to check out the reptiles I honestly could not believe what I seen. The reptiles were in such horrible shape!!! I can't believe the store even had them out on display... There bedding and water was so dirty. They were all covered in stuck shed. None of their humidities were where they should be. The snakes were SO DEHYDRATED and extremely skinny!!! The leopard geckos were some of the most sickly geckos I've ever seen and need to see a vet ASAP considering they probably have parasites that can be spread around. This was some of the worst care I've ever seen at a Petco store and something needs to be done right away for these poor animals. read more

This store is always under stocked and never has what I need. The aquariums are absolutely filthy. You can't even see the fish through the algae covered glass. Many tanks had filters that were not even working. Dead rotting fish could be found in almost every tank. This is unacceptable for a pet store. Wal-Mart does a better job of taking care of their tanks and Wal-Mart's tanks are a joke. read more

This store seems so much smaller than the other ones I've been to.. it probably is. But it's like the neighborhood Walmart to the Walmart. It has everything that you need. It's also very clean I couldn't find a specific type of cat food and was really going to just give up and make the 15 min to the other location, until I saw an employee and she immediately walked me over to the section I had my back to all along. All the employees greeted me.. ALL. I couldn't help but notice they were also multitasking. The groomer Destiny was really sweet, but I think she she might be too inexperienced to be giving dog haircuts. My golden retriever went home with a botched haircut--uneven trim, nails barely trimmed down, a few nicks in his belly area and she used clippers when I specifically told them to only use shears. Gold retrievers have a double coat and by using clippers you damage the hairs on top. It's upsetting because I told them to only give him a trim because I liked his long hair overall. The reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because she had good customer service. read more

This location has the BEST grooming we've ever taken our furbaby is! Jessica was the one that took care of our girl, and Popcorn (our furbaby) was so happy when we dropped her off, and picked her up. Not only does she look adorable and her grooming is perfect, but Jessica clearly was so sweet and caring with Popcorn while she was there! Highly recommend this location, and this groomer! We get two maltipoos groomed at this Petco on Perkins! Maddie has done them and she does an excellent job. She's very meticulous about their haircuts being just right and not choppy looking. Well, Maddie had to leave early this particular time and Brandi took over for her and our girls look amazing!! We will always go to them as long as either Brandi or Maddie is there!!! This is the most satisfied we have been with Petco grooming in a long time!! read more

Love this Petco. Along with being brand new, it is also located next to some great shops and Trader Joes. Not as big as some others stores it manages to fit it all in as far as I could tell. The staff is friendly, and you can pick a free sample of some petfood at checkout (I know my dogs have enjoyed that). The treat/cookie bar is there too of course. That bar is the feature that always brings me to Petco vs. competitors. You can pick a little or a lot, dogs love it all. read more

The groomers are wonderful! I've brought my shih tzu (who has long beautiful black hair) there a few times and they do exactly what I want them to with her cut. They've been booked up recently so I had to go to Petz Plaza and they BUTCHERED my dog and did the exact opposite of what I told them to do. I'll never steer from Petco again, no matter how long the wait! The customer service is great, too. Always someone to help and very knowledgeable about their products. Megan at the petco on Perkins is a true artist! Tell her to do whatever she wants with your pups 'do, and you won't be disappointed! I usually want a specific look for my pooch, but after she showed me a picture of her own dog that she grooms herself, of course, I told her to do her thing... And my dog has never looked better!! I never could have dreamed up this adorable 'do! She's got little fur booties shaved in, a rad Mohawk that looks amazing and hip even when it's not styled, and her tails and ears are perfect! Every neighbor has stopped us on our walkies to ask me where I took her. I actually just had to book an appt with my own hair stylist because my dog's 'do looks better than mine! I really like the PETCO located on Perkins Road next to Trader Joes. The employees are very helpful and friendly. I love the selection of live fish at this location. I have noticed that the more knowledgeable employees are only available available. the morning hours. If you need to ask a staff member questions about the live fish make sure to come by in the mornings. The most knowledgeable staff members wirk the morning shift. Keep in mind that the online store and the free standing Petco have completely different sale items. When you are checking out, show them the sale item on your phone from the online site and they will match it. read more

I had an appointment for my dog to be groomed at 4:30, I get there a couple minutes earlier than scheduled time. I'm sitting in the waiting area for maybe five minutes before being greeted. While waiting I look behind the desk and see a sign that says for this week only they're having a $2 teeth cleaning. I thought that's great cause I wanted to do that as well. I tell the receptionist I would like to do the special but she says oh that sign is actually old. I thought hmm okay that sucks since the sign literally says "THIS WEEK SPECIAL" with no dates. No biggy! I told the receptionist my information and she asked did I have my paper for my dog. I wasn't aware that I had to bring anything, but it's understandable so it wasn't a problem. I told her I live about five minutes away I can go back and get them. She says that's actually a problem because it takes two hours to wash our dogs and you wouldn't be able to leave him here(I wasn't planning on doing that) but anyway go off sis. I said well can I have my roommate fax it over to you? She says our fax machine is broken. I said okay email, she says it's just cause she's a new groomer and she doesn't feel comfortable with her time limit. SOOOOOO I can't get my dog groomed because YOUR employee is not comfortable with her time limit. I honestly didn't care how long it took and was in no rush. I live five minutes away and would have just waited in my home while they took care of him. She mentioned that they close at 6, mind you it's literally only 4:34 at this point and the time they took to tell me of all the reasons they couldn't do it, I would have been home and back. She says yeah that's why I hate the online booking because it doesn't tell owners that it's a two hour process and just lets you book anytime. Hmmm so you're blaming me for what your website allows, gotcha. Really turned me away from ever wanting to shop there, which sucks cause I actually loved petco floor associates. read more

Great addition to the neighborhood. The employees are super friendly. I love the ladies in the dog grooming. They do a great job on my dog and it's not as pricy as other places I've been. They have almost anything you could need for your pets. It's a little more expensive than say a Wal Mart, but I'll pay a few extra bucks to avoid that place. They also have pets up for adoption pretty much every time I'm in there. It's clean and nice and I'll continue to give them my business. read more
