All the vendors were super friendly and some would even talk about some of the items on sale and its history. I ended up buying just one item, but would come back if I'm ever in Petaluma again. The only thing that was off was finding the place. I googled and mapped the Petaluma vintage market, and it took us to a park.. but the market was at a completely different address after driving around and finding little signs. Even if I disregard those memories and compare this flea market only to other swap meets I've been to in the area and where I live, this one is a huge disappointment. First I accidentally showed up on a Saturday. Though open, I only saw two vendors. I didn't get out of my car. Next I came on a Sunday, which has always been the better day. There were many vendors, but I'd say a good 70-80% of them were just selling new products. Cheap clothes, household goods, candy, electronics, etc. imported from Mexico and sold cheaply. I guess if you need something like this you may not feel like you have lots of places you can go, but I come to flea markets and swap meets for the "garage sale" aspect and that was extremely minimal here. Very depressing. I did buy a couple of items, but having also visited another swap meet earlier that same day, I can't see myself returning to this one. For food there were some Mexican food trucks, Lee's Chinese and American food (x2), an ice cream cart, and Agua Fresca. We got one medium agua fresca and a bottle of water ($9 total). However, the parking situation can be quite tedious when arriving after 10am. The entrance fee varies based on the time you come in, with the most expensive being when they open at 6am ($20). My family and I got there around 11am and it was a $10 entrance fee. They do allow re-entries so long as you get a handstamp before exiting. Today was my first time visiting and I was taken aback by how pricey a lot of items were - especially the clothing. Many were priced higher than new items. The food vendors present were underwhelming. We had Donna's Tamales and it was quite bland and overpriced. They charged me $18 for 2 corn chili tamales. My husband and I had hoped to find some items for our new spot, but left empty handed. Not sure I will be back for how marked up the items were.

I've been to the San Jose Flea Market a few times with my family on Sundays. From what I understand, they're open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, and Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are lots of food trucks and plenty of seating throughout the market. It can get pretty crowded at times, especially on Sundays, but overall it's manageable. The restrooms have always been clean whenever we've visited, and there are ATMs available on site. You can find almost anything here clothes, household items, snacks, and more making it a fun place to spend a few hours with family. There's also a large produce section with a bakery right in the center, which gets very busy but is worth checking out. Overall, it's a lively spot with plenty to see and do, making it a great place to spend time with family if you don't mind the crowds. The value is decent if you plan to spend a few hours browsing, grabbing a bite, or making some purchases, though the high weekend parking fees do bring it down. One thing to note: we've occasionally encountered teens and sometimes older men approaching people asking for money, claiming they need it for food. Later, we've seen them gathered in small groups. Just something to be aware of stay alert and mindful of your surroundings.
