This was my first introduction to a proper British tea, and boy, did it not disappoint! We each got the English Rose Tea, which came with a small selection of sandwiches (ham, cucumber and cream cheese, and cheese), scones, cakes, and our choice of tea. The sandwiches were yummy. I especially liked the cucumber and cream cheese, which was refreshing. The scones were SO GOOD - the fruit scone in particular was AMAZING, and the clotted cream and jam were perfect with it. There was a wide variety of cakes, and we were so stuffed that we had to take a good portion of it home with us. Just a note that The Rosehip Tea is a savory tea, and it comes with a sausage roll (or at least it would have the day we were there) - I wish I had known this or I would've sprung for it! Still, the English Rose Tea was really nice.
The tea room itself is very cute. It's a big space with lots of light, and there's outdoor seating as well if you prefer that. They display some local artists' works that you can purchase, and we got some dog treats to go (which the dogs LOVED). read more
