The brilliant white tower looked beautiful against the deep-blue Florida sky, and the surrounding grounds provided several excellent angles for photographs. Inside the museum, the displays explained the lighthouse's history and included a particularly interesting exhibit about the Fresnel lens and how its system of prisms concentrated and projected the light far out to sea. One thing I recommend do legging exercise at home and people overweight wont feet the square space to reach to the top part on the wall metal stairs you need to hold on to it to clime up very narrow whom ever has long legs will be difficult too since the steps and space don't give you room to fold them. We headed to the beach afterwords to my surprise being in the Golf coast the water was clean and warm. Not shells almost very disappointing. A few people some music playing in the background nothing disturbing. One thing I did liked was the kids box beach toy available by the sand I guess you bring it back to it. Given the price points of some of the items, I would never just take the plunge and buy something without confirmation if for someone else. Another reason it seemed crazy to me was because the most if not all the items weren't one of kind. Maybe a piece of art here or there but they had Burt's Bees items which is sold everywhere and multiple numbers of same items, books, etc. The shop was very cute and I did like several items in there for gifts but did not make any purchases. When we asked about baskets, she said they had ordered them but they were not in yet, so she loaned up a backpack (no charge, nice). Two hours later, she texted us to say the baskets were in! When our young son accidentally dropped a small, cheaply made item, the woman working there (an older lady) was incredibly rude and insisted we pay $4 for something that was obviously worth a fraction of that. Instead of treating us with any understanding or basic courtesy, she acted as though we were a burden. If you're looking for a friendly place to shop for souvenirs, I'd recommend going literally anywhere else. Very disappointing experience

Nan's is small inside but offers so many items. You can find local honey, boiled peanuts, and gator jerky at Nan's. There are also many kinds of sauces, jams ,nuts, and baked goods available as well as a large assortment of snacks and drinks. Many of these products are Amish made. We found several tee shirts and hats at a fairly good price. Typical souvenir items are available as well. There's so many items packed into one store! I saw flags, wind chimes, shell decor, kitchen utensils, sunscreen, and other basic first aid/toiletries. My husband enjoyed the milk shake he ordered. Rest rooms were rather small and rustic but clean. Would like to visit again if we're in the Marianna area.
