They are very patient, even late in the evening. I found out recently that they see "pet strays". Tom, my sorta feral, lived on my porch since spring of 2018. (Before that he was sidelined by a blonde.) He got a boo-boo this past December, and it became infected. I called Lend Us Your Ear to see what options I had. Lend referred us to Balsalm, which is our hospital anyway. Dr. Moore took great care of Misa- in for late standard care- and Tom. Yes, they even allowed Misa to piggyback on Tom's appointment. And, yes, they are brave enough to help cats with bad attitudes. Tom had one. Sadly, a few days ago, I noticed that Tom was unable to urinate. It seemed that his left back leg was causing him some pain. My daughter said that Tom almost fell over trying to clean himself. We thought that that was due to his being nineteen pounds. Later that night, I chided him to get out of the rain. He got on top of his FeralVilla, and I hesitated. I wanted to cover him, but knew he would run away if I attempted to do so. The next morning, he was gone. He has been missing for several days now. My husband was the last to see him. I like to think that Tom went on a morning walk, and impulsively decided to look for a mistress. Misa and I are still looking for him in his regular spots. That quick, our lives have changed. And before we could get him help at Balsalm, the most dedicated and compassionate vet hospital in Haywood County. Dedicated to Tom, a tom hopefully vacationing in Miami.

We took our dog here while we were visiting relatives to get a wash and groom. That was the…read morepossibly the worst thing we could have done. When we got there for our appointment and the sign was turned to closed because the owner "didn't want any business today" that should have been the first clue. We were told three hours and when we showed up to collect the dog the owner had the nerve to chew us out because she wasn't done. A simple "I'm not done yet" would have sufficed. When we got the dog back, the cut was uneven, his nails were cut but not filed, and even though we told her the dog had sensitive skin, she used something that broke him out horribly. This groomer's ineptitude will cost us a ton in vet bills to get him comfortable after this. Run - do not walk - from this groomer.
