As a complete aquarium novice I've been into this shop twice in 2 days. Due to a mistake on my part, I purchased a filter that was incorrect and when I called to discuss this with the gentleman owner, he reassured me it could be changed with no problems at all. I was given a heap of advice on which fish to start off with, on how to test the tanks water to ensure it's cycled correctly, all the bits and bobs needed were sourced and I came away feeling confident that the advice offered was sound and the goods there of great quality and reasonably priced. I didn't feel that although clearly new to this hobby, that I was being taken advantage of in any way, as I feel you are if you go to larger chain pet stores who seem to way lay you with all sorts of jargon and by-products that you don't really need. On this basis alone, aside from being local and wanting to support local small businesses, that I shall in future be a regular customer and I thank them very much for their friendly and helpful services. read more

I have been into this shop a few times now. It is run by a husband and wife team. The lady I found to be very friendly and extreamly helpful but unfortunately the gentleman can be a very short and rude. The furry animals are well cared for. However I purchased a Male rabbit only to find out it was Female although this was rectified should never have happened and the fish that we purchased all died from cotton fungi - which they were already infected with - and took a few of our fish with them. I asked for some fish to be ordered for me, saw the picture of them ect. When they came in we discovered they were the wrong type. When I explained this the gentleman was very rude and would not except he made a mistake even though the fish they ordered was 8" longer than what I wanted!!! I visit this pet shop on a weekly basis to purchase pet food for our animals and have always found the shop owners to be both helpful and courtious at all times and always willing to surrender advice without hesitation. We have purchased tropical fish here on many occasions as the shop carries a wide variety and often I am spoilt for choice, in fact when I started keeping fish I purchased the tank and accessories etc. The shop owner visited my home and set everything up for me without any hesitation whatsoever. In conclusion I feel the shop provides a good honest and reliable service and I hope to continue to shop here for many years to come. read more
