The weather was absolutely perfect, and the vibes were great. We ordered fries, salad, humus, and pizza, as well as two beers. The food took almost an hour to get to us, but with the great views and the live music, we really were not too bothered by this. We sipped on our beers and enjoyed the experience while waiting on the food. There was an event of some sort happening at the same time that included food being cooked out in the open, which was fun to watch (even if we couldn't eat it). Highly, highly recommend eating here!

We arrived to a casual setting with only 5 rooms available to rent. Our room is spacious and cozy. We made reservations at the restaurant and the food was fresh and light with many great option. After dinner we headed to the riverside Picnic tables to enjoy the lasting sunlight, a glass of wine and to watch the birds, a rainbow and relax. Even if you are passing through, it is worth having lunch and sitting riverside. We will be back. Love it here.

He took us to a table right next to the fireplace it was very lovely. He let us know that he had a reservation for that table in two hours. I assured him that we would be done within the two hour time limit. As soon as we sat down, a lovely young lady came and talked to us about the specials however, there was only one serving of it left. We immediately said yes, will take that and were pleasantly surprised! one of the best meals we have had here in Scotland!! the service was excellent. The Fisherman Pie, which was Haddock, Smoked Haddock and Salmon in a Creamy Leek & Chive Sauce, topped with Mash Potato and Isle of mull Cheddar, was delicious. A chicken and bacon burger was ordered and a chicken and bacon burger it was. Where the chicken that this chicken breast came from I don't know but it was definitely doing some serious weightlifting and bulking up. It was MASSIVE, in all it's chickeny beauty I found it hard to resist taking a huge bite out of the burger. Long stoy short, I ended up taking a huge bite out of the burger. The chicken was beautifully juicy for general pub grub and the bacon was lovely, sweet but slightly salted which gelled all the flavours of the breaded chicken and the toasted roll together. Thinking about it now, I'm getting hungry again. Every time I have a pub burger, the side salad always lets it down, every time, it's like the bars expect people not to eat it, but not this bar. The salad was crisp and fresh, served up with a deliciously sweet vinaigrette that was perfect for dipping a wee bit of the roll in. The spirit measures were 35ml and the guest ales on offer covered breweries such as Innis & Gunn and The Inveralmond Brewery (who do beers such as Lia Fail and Ossian) which justified the bar being about 60-70p more expensive than the others we visited.

Reopened within the last six months Stuart(chef) and Jennifer(host) have transformed what was previously a venue for pub grub, into a heavenly treat for the palate. On par with the top restaurants Edinburgh has to offer, The Loft is not too far away from the city so you can get there within two hours. The only downside is it's upstairs thus the name, so there are no other means of getting to it. But a spacious area decked in creams and mocha with wooden beams and walls featuring local artists. Best thing is you don't need to be a local resident of the River Tilt park to visit, just give them a ring to book, or beware large groups who don't you may be turned away. There are enough tables in two rooms with comfy leather seats or benches built into alcoves adorned with tartan. With some other folks in, made it feel nearly full but even on a rainy night it wasn't too warm. You might even see your food being prepared behind the bar area because it's mostly open plan. For the better though the ambience was just right, not too noise so you couldn't hear, easy listening music in the background. We were settled into a cosy spot near the air balcony so we could see outside. Their balcony also has a few tables complete with shady umbrellas for those balmy summer brunches. But I don't think it is used for evening meals? From locally sourced ingredients, what Stuart and Jennifer produce is a first class meal of immense flavour, that your tongue might do a merry dance as taste buds go into overdrive. Some of our party tried starters consisting of chicory leaves, sitting on top of a beet flavoured dew, paired with thinly sliced medium rare venison. Mains were battered fish and homemade chunky fries, served on a slate with creamy mayo. Others had beef with a variety of veggies. A bottle of Grenache Rose completed the drinks, but I felt it might have been better pairing the fish with a lighter white, or for the folks enjoying The beef a deeper full bodied red. We stayed for about three hours never felt rushed, but we had enjoyed one starter, three mains, two desserts including a large cheese board, two beers and a bottle of wine, so on average the three of us paid around £45 each. The Loft is Open from 10-ish till 10-ish is well worth the hype. I've made a note to come back and sample the rest of their menu, that is if they are still at River Tilt park in a few years...perhaps they will expand to Perth or Edinburgh?

Think there was a real fire, there is a 'pub' dog which makes regular appearances. It is right smack, bang in the moddle of the town centre so no excuse to walk past it to a more standard, boring pub!
