The outcomof the eyelid surgery was absolutely stunning. For me, I couldn't have been happier. The other procedures, I am equally thrilled. Dr. Burroughs and his staff couldn't be more caring or helpful. My ophthalmologist referred me to Dr. Burroughs. My doctor is very knowledgeable about all surgeons in the area. I knew my he would only want me to go to the best for the eyelid surgery. I healed quickly and for me, it was painless. I went in 5/7/20 for a procedure. As always, everyone was friendly and the procedure was quick. I always have a positive experience. I highly recommend this practice.

A Disappointing and Painful Experience…read more I trusted Melissa with my face for nearly a year, receiving neurotoxin injections without issue. I had even considered working at the clinic she co-founded with her husband, Dr. John Bourrous. Unfortunately, my experience took a devastating turn in the weeks leading up to my wedding. Melissa had previously done filler in my upper cheeks, which went well. Seeking subtle improvements before my big day, I mentioned some concern about the area under my chin. Melissa recommended a Silhouette thread lift to tighten the skin and reduce the appearance of a double chin. She assured me it was quick and easy -- something she routinely performed on herself and Dr. Bourrous. I was hesitant given the timing, but she confidently told me the swelling would resolve in just three days and it would be perfectly safe so close to the wedding. The day of the procedure, I checked in, had some photos taken, took a Xanax I had provided myself, and the treatment began. Only afterward, at checkout, was I presented with a consent form explaining essential aftercare instructions and restrictions I had never been told about in advance -- including a soft food diet, no dental work for 10 weeks, and the need to sleep upright. I had a dentist appointment scheduled just two weeks later, not to mention my wedding and extended honeymoon. Had I known these risks and limitations beforehand, I never would have proceeded. In the days following, I experienced intense pain and distress. The swelling never went down, and the dimpling and puckering in my skin worsened. Rather than slimming my face, the procedure left me looking wider and, honestly, unrecognizable to myself. Despite following all aftercare instructions exactly, I was devastated by the result. Melissa told me to follow up the following Monday, but by then, the emotional and physical damage was already done. The follow-up care for the complications was sloppy, inconsistent, and lacked any real resolution. There was no meaningful follow-through or accountability for what had happened. To make matters worse, the medical record lists Dr. John Bourrous as the provider who performed the procedure -- yet it was Melissa, an LPN, who carried it out. This discrepancy is deeply concerning and raises questions about transparency and proper documentation. It ultimately took a full year of working with an ENT specialist to correct the damage and restore normal tissue function. The impact on my appearance, confidence, and emotional well-being was profound. Warning to others: Do not allow anyone to rush you into a procedure -- especially so close to an important event. Always insist on receiving all risks and aftercare requirements in writing before consenting. I learned the hard way that trust and polish do not guarantee safety, skill, or ethical care.

My stylist was super nice and very talkative, but she was a terrible communicator which is a dangerous trait to have when you work in a hair salon. It took 30 minutes for me to try to explain to her what I wanted--just a few face framing highlights and then some money pieces in the front (I had bought a groupon for a partial highlight and hair cut, but didn't event want the full highlight). She kept telling me that what I was asking for would be balayage and that I'd have to reschedule if I wanted to do that (I think it's because I didn't want my highlights to reach to the root of my hair and wanted them a little further off). Her communication was so terrible that I decided to just opt out of doing anything but highlighting my bangs. I had to tell her three times that I only wanted a certain section of hair highlighted in my bangs and over and over again she would be like "So we're bleaching all your bangs, right?" It took over 30 minutes of talking for her to finally start on my hair and agree to not bleach all of my bangs. She left the bleach on my bangs for like an hour, which really concerned me but apparently that's how long their bleach stays on. Since I wasn't going to be able to get my highlights done, I decided to do a toner (they charged me $40 extra for this). I told her I wanted my hair to be brighter and less yellow. She told me she had the perfect toner for it that would make my hair basically platinum. I was so excited, but my hair turned out brown and is darker than it has been in years. I'm pretty sure she didn't use conditioner on my hair after washing the toner out either and then she raked a brush through it without any product on it. And she didn't fully blow dry my hair before she started curling it either--the smoke coming off of it was crazy. And--of course--no heat protectant on it at all. She cut three inches off my hair, but I have SO many split ends now. So she definitely damaged the heck out of it. I'm not confrontational, so I just paid and left but I've been so, so sad about my hair. I had looked forward to this appointment and getting a little confidence boost for a while and it really sucks for it to have had the opposite effect :( And the owner is creepy too! When I was checking out, the first thing he said to me was something like "Well, you look gorgeous." His prolonged eye contact and obvious attraction to me made me feel very uncomfortable. He had to be well over 60 and I'm 26. Not a fun experience. Will not go back

I am so sad that so many reviews from Studio 27 are outdated and poor. I have now gotten botox,…read moretouch up lip filler (they allowed me to just do a 1/2 syringe while some places don't allow that), and a thread lift. I'm not sure what type of threads were used, perhaps PDO..? Apologies, I'm not certain. I can tell that Michael has a very particular sense of aesthetic, and she has a great eye for what needs to be done and how. I usually leave things up to a hair dresser, medi spa, or Nordstrom consultant etc to determine what would look best because I'm autistic and I have no semblance of keen self evaluation this is where someone like Michael can be very helpful. This was my first time getting threads and my second time getting a neuromodulator (botulinum) injection. Now the GREAT part! I was a little scared of getting threads because I'd never had em before. Michael put 2 threads on each side of my jaw line, which is where I wanted the threads. This is not a very significant amount of threads, or so I've discovered since the treatment. It's on the more "conservative" side. She used a perfect amount of local anesthetic beforehand; I have pretty thick skin, so I'm glad she used a good amount. I just closed my eyes after that and let her work. At one point, she had to use a fair amount of force to get the cannula shoved subdermally, but she had everything under control. I did feel pressure, but very little pain. As soon as i left, I went to visit with a buddy of mine (a straight, generally objective male). He was totally shocked and asked me immediately what I'd done to my face because it looked so good. He said "you don't look like a different person or anything, but you look like the best version of you. Your face that was already beautiful looks perfected. Jesus, that's impressive!" I was also totally impressed when I looked in the mirror. Everyone says that the threads cause the dermis to become fortified and tighter/less saggy/more chiseled "V line"; this is not only due to the threads mechanically pulling up the tissues, but also due to the thread ingredients' I ability to initiate collagen/elastin production. It's been a few weeks since I've had it done. It's one of the best things I've ever done for my face. it ended up looking absolutely INCREDIBLE, lifting my thick skin upwards to a fairly significant degree. This is clearly not a substitute for a face lift, or other very invasive procedures that a plastic surgeon can perform. However, I'd say it's the verrrrry next best option. I did feel like I got punched in the jaw for a few days, but hey I've had much worse pain in my life, and and it's 100% worth it. I left before and afters in the pics before us in the Amazon super cheap rendition of a 50s outfit and the after is the banned books gray shirt.
