Really fun place to meet locals and folks from all over the world! We miss the big deck (washed away in some of the storms), but the ambiance is fun and safe. BEDBUGS!!!! Down below are the photos of my back after staying at Perry's. My wife found a bedbug on my pillow and then noticed my back was eaten up. My wife also had bites, but out of respect for her I am not posting those photos. We reached out to the hotel immediately and showed them the photos. The hotel took two days to get pest control out there to "investigate" the room, only to tell us "the tech from pest control did not find any bedbugs." Furthermore, I have stayed in pretty bad places with terrible living conditions being in the military and not once experienced bedbugs. The hotel did not offer any apologies or any sort of restitution. This is unacceptable and we definitely will not be staying here again and I hope that you and your family will not subject yourselves either! read more

Came here for bike week and prices haves doubled but Perry's was reasonable. It's an older hotel like most on the beach but the room wasn't bad. It had a small kitchenette and nice size closet. It has an indoor pool and spa. Puts you in the mind of the 80's but it's clean. It also sits directly on the beach which is really nice of you opt for an ocean view. Michelle at the front desk is absolutely wonderful. Everyone was nice but Michelle is certainly a keeper and we love seeing her every year. read more

I recently stayed at Perry's Hotel and had a truly awful experience. Upon check-in at 7:00 p.m., I parked my small U-Haul trailer right in front of the office after asking the front desk attendant and a maintenance worker where I could park. They both assured me I could park it anywhere on the premises. After checking in, I took my daughter to our room and got her settled for the night. Around 11:15 p.m., I received a call saying my trailer couldn't be parked there. I explained my situation, as my daughter was asleep, and moments later, there were loud knocks on my door. A security guard confronted me in a stern and intimidating manner, threatening to tow my vehicle. I asked what I was supposed to do--leave my sleeping child alone in the hotel room to move my car? The whole situation was incredibly stressful and unprofessional. Now I'm left worrying about my car being towed. I would not recommend Perry's Hotel to anyone. Save yourself the hassle and choose somewhere else. read more

I had previously stayed at this resort and had a great experience. When I was planning the trip this past August I did not have a second thought I recommended staying at Perry's. I had been talking it up to my family the months prior. I was extremely disappointed during this visit. The resort was in need of updating. It seemed dirty. The indoor pool was nice when it was open . They were renovating portions of the property but there was a lot of work still needed. The beach was beautiful and it was nice be oceanfront. I am sure once it is done being renovated it will be a lot nicer. read more

Unfortunately, after 3 years of going here as a celebration of my grandparents who came here for decades, we have decided to end our tradition. Over the years the hotel has become so run down. I get there was a hurricane last year, but even before that, there appears to be little effort to maintain the appearance of the hotel. The rooms are nice and have been redone. However the donut room is musty and from the smell there is most likely a lot of mold. The lady that runs the donuts has been there for years and is very "salty." This year the front desk was polite, but in the past I have felt like we are more of an inconvenience for the employees. For the amount of money we spent for a weekend it just wasn't worth it, so we will not be returning. read more

The indoor pool is the main thing that brings us here, the place it's self is a little run down and a little over priced but the donuts are good, the lady that works the donut room tho has a terrible attitude.... I've stayed with this hotel for over 25 years with my whole family(20+ ppl) and this may be the last year. Things were supposedly remodeled however it was the bare minimum and things still look dingy and it smells horrible throughout the place. The most frustrating was the amount of noise you hear through the night. We had a crying baby, I realize that's not the hotels fault, and three bus loads worth of teenagers that made a lot of noise until I had to go out and ask them to quite down. Two of the days they were moving mattresses and taking up both elevators. Being on the 6th for that was super annoying and the one time we could use them we had mattresses blocking our way out that I had to tip over to get around. Overall I would rather take my money to one of the newer build hotels at this point. Super sad lol read more

Been coming here for 30+ years. The hotel is now Perry's Resort. The grounds are no longer kept up. The room service is minimal at best. There were no outdoor games (shuffle board, etc.). The rooms are spacious, we had a non-smoking ocean front kitchenette, we wanted to be able to sit on the patio and enjoy the ocean. However, we couldn't do that because all the rooms around ours had smokers on the balcony. It smelled like cigarette smoke on our balcony. We killed two German cockroaches in our room. The refrigerator in our room didn't work. The bathroom door looked like it had been exposed to standing water and was rotting on the bottom. When checking out I expressed to the front desk clerk Carol everything and she didn't seem interested. She probably didn't remember anything I said, because she didn't write anything down. We booked our anniversary online Using 3rd party Hotel booking app. The booking company indicated at the time of booking that there was free parking, free Activities daily And free donuts and coffee daily: Bud upon checking in we were surprised to have to pay a resort fee of $15.00 Per day Additional to what we had already prepaid through the booking website Months in Advance before Our arrival. Our original reservation What for accessible room in the garden What was given an upgrade To an ocean front room Because the hotel over sold To accommodate a group That Blocked Rooms for private party. The room that we were assigned What is not handicap accessible And all for head a terrible leak in the shower stall. 1st 3 days at the property, There were no lights In the hallways of property Which basic kind of scary Because it was pitch black. Will you request it wake up calls every morning that we were there But Nobody ever called 4 hour wake up calls. Realize that there was no phone in the room Nor any alarm clock Either. In the past there has always been some sort of activities for either children or adults in the pool area But now There is none Because they cannot find Any employees To a Arrange activities. This was our fourth year staying at Perry's. It's our last. The place has gone downhill so badly. The floors aren't dirty...they're filthy. My daughter walked from one end of the room to the other. Her white socks were black on the bottoms. Then there were gnats ? Not just a few gnats, but too many to count. I made lunch, walked on the porch, walked back in and any food that I was about to put away, got thrown away. Because it was covered in gnats. We had left the bathroom door shut overnight, the next morning, there were hundreds of gnats in there. They were coming out of the shower drain. Then I realized they were also coming from the kitchen sink drain as well. I stuffed a wet cloth in both drains until needed. This helped a lot. We found a couple of large roach looking bugs but at least they were dead. The maids came by every morning... to have me sign off on a piece of paper. One did ask me if I needed anything, but that was only one time out of four. After signing, their carts sat in the same place the rest of the day. I had to go to the front desk to ask for 3 pool towels. Uhh she said she had 2 ?? When I told her that I was paying for three of us to stay there, she managed to find another towel. Then there's the parking problem. You're allowed one space per reservation. No matter how many rooms you rent. The tow truck was there taking cars the entire four days. I got my one permit and asked for another for my brother, who was meeting us there from another state. The lady handed me a sheet of paper and I gave it to my brother. Neither of us looked at it. Well it wasn't a permit but it was a place to call for additional parking. Touted as walking distance. After paying $270.40 to get my brothers truck from the tow company, is when we actually read the paper she had given me. It gave us the number for additional parking, $25 a day...1.8 miles away. Not exactly what I'd call walking distance. Especially when I need a scooter to get around. My brother and I are both over 60 years old. Even if I could have walked, I wouldn't have with the temperatures in the 90's. Again, we won't be staying here again. Oh, I had originally booked one of their cottages, only to receive a phone call a couple of weeks later saying that they had overbooked and it was no longer available. My family started staying here approximately 15 years ago when we visit the Daytona area on family vacations. It started to go downhill the last time we stayed here approximately 3 years ago and was in need of a remodel badly. However during this stay the room we stayed in which was a Garden Ocean Front Efficiency had been totally redone. We were on the 2nd floor and had a private balcony, each separated by post railings, overlooking the ocean. We had 2 queen beds, a table and 4 chairs, a fully kitchen with microwave, stove top and full sized fridge. They have dishes, silverware, The bathroom offered a walk-in shower and a light up vanity for doing your make up. They are not currently doing maid service daily unless you request it because of Covid. However they will give you new towels, hand towels, and wash cloths if you let them know how many you need. They do send text message approximately 1/2 hour after check in to make sure everything is to your liking in your room and you do not need anything else. They also send a text message each day making sure you don't need anything. You also can send them a text at the same number if you require something such as toilet paper and they will bring it to you with in a short amount of time. I sent them a text letting them know our shower was not draining properly and they sent a maintenance person almost immediately to fix the problem. The Tiki bar is an awesome place to go to get an adult drink especially if you don't want to drive. I fully recommend this hotel! read more

I didn't like the following: pool closed, smell of strong marijuana blowing onto our balcony from a neighboring balcony, unsupervised children running around screaming until 11 pm, dirty floor throughout room, thin walls, cob webs on ceiling, luggage carts that were difficult to operate, gnats flying around the room, roaches in bathroom, no extra trash bags for cans, garbage set outside door for 24 hours before getting picked up, smoke alarm beeping loudly and waking us up from 3-5 am. We did not enjoy our stay and will not ever stay at Perry's Ocean Edge again. Very disappointed! read more

l have been coming to Perry's for over 20 years and unfortunately the "RESORT" and it's property has simply went downhill. Roaches in rooms continuously. yes there was a hurricane that was pretty devastatin. However, do not send me to a room with mold on the roof, in the closet, on the pillow cases. Yet, the front desk did NOT act like it was a big concern or want to rectify the issues. Multiple guests that are previou guest agreed and if it wasnt for the events in Daytona and the cheap rooms this place would be condemned. PLEASE just walk around the property and look at all the old mattresses from the south south ( inside the restroom) to the north side with the the parking garage is there more ol mattresses out there. Everything you want and expect from a budget motel. Save money by going to the store and cooking in your room (there were stove top burners, dishes, coffee maker and small fridge in our room.) Our room had an ocean front balcony. This was the reason for booking the room. Hearing the waves at night, priceless. Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Bed was firm (for those with bad backs, like me.) Small fridge provided and in room safe. Stove top burners and dishes, also a dishwasher. Table and chairs for 4 people, for dining. Balcony with 2 chairs and small table. Ocean front. Walk from room to beach. Gated area around property to beach, need room key to get from beach to hotel, which means more security to the property. Breakfast consisted of fresh donuts, and oatmeal. Coffee and juice as well. There is a clean, heated outdoor pool (we did not use.) The is a grassy section with lounge chairs. Great for families. There is a small gift store selling beach toys, suits, etc. Parking is FREE, which you won't find at many other places. Cons: Needs updating. Rooms are a bit stale. It's an older place... so, you get what you pay for. House cleaning does a wonderful job making the room clean and smelling fresh. There is carpet, which is not too great with sandy shoes or feet, however housekeeping does a great job vacuuming. Stairwell is dark and dirty, use the elevator. Walls are thin, so if there is a barking dog, or crying baby, you'll hear it. Open your patio slider, the sound of the ocean always makes it better. We never felt unsafe during our stay. read more

I've been staying at Perry's for 30 years. I booked a room for $200 tonight and it's next to the elevator. I believe the standard hasn't been kept up. If you stay here, I hope you can get a decent rate and you're not right next to the elevator! Bring earplugs. The phone in the room isn't working, so I can't even call the front desk. I'm sad that my favorite Daytona Beach motel has slipped so far. read more

I stayed here for three nights during the week in late May. My main purpose for coming to the area was to go snorkeling in some of the springs about 45 minutes outside of Daytona Beach, but I thought it might be cool to stay at the beach if the price was right. There was a Priceline deal for about $80/night (including taxes and fees) at Perry's, so I decided to take advantage of it despite the mixed reviews. The resort had beach access, three pools, a hot tub, and complimentary homemade cake donuts in the morning. I didn't have any trouble finding parking (this was during the week), but the ramps in the parking deck were a little tight. My room was in the motel portion of the resort. It was basically a standard motel room with a small kitchenette attached. It was not beachfront (the resort is beachfront, just not my particular room), but I could see a partial view of the beach through the cottages next door. The room looked a little old, like it hadn't been updated in a few decades, but I don't really care about aesthetics as long as a place is clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. My room was clean, and the beds were not the best I've experienced, but they were sufficient for a full night's sleep without waking up in the middle of the night. This won't be the type of place that appeals to people who like granite countertops and stainless steel appliances in their beach rental, but I would recommend it for non-fussy travelers who can get a good deal. I give it four stars based on what I got for the price I paid. read more

Very noisy on the weekend as it seems to be a popular place for kids and their families. We had a balcony with a beautiful parking lot overlook (sarcasm folks). The room was old and filthy....especially the bathroom. The Tiki Bar may have a nice overlook but it is very small, limited selections, uncomfortable seating, drinks pricey, closing time just "depends" and also a pig sty. So now 19.5 hours away from home, out 500 dollars and no hotel room in Daytona with my 3 year old son. We paid over $600 for 3 nights and when we took our vehicle somewhere for a few hours we had to park 2 blocks away when we came back. I can say me and my family stayed here for 15 years from the 90s till early 2000s and it was awesome! It is still good but a bit ran down however they are renovating. Most of the staff is great however stay away from Carla! The most lease compassionate person I ever encountered. We had 2 rooms and my grandson was ill and had to go to ER. I asked for a late check due to the issue and she had no concern or compassion! I realize she is only one person but one bad apple can spoil a whole bunch. read more

The hotel itself is great with a nice big lawn dotted with cement tables with umbrellas. There's a tiki bar outside. It has 2 pools outside and 1 heated pool inside. There's a spa inside too. It has a small restaurant open for breakfast and lunch. IHop is directly across the street as well as Winn Dixie. A miniature golf course is walkable at just 3 blocks away. The only "bad" things overall is the parking. Not enough spaces for the amount of rooms. Good luck trying to find a space either in the upper and lower north tower parking lot area or anywhere in the south parking lot. Overflow parks across the street along the side of the road. The room I stayed in, advertised as oceanfront kitchenette in the south tower was remodeled. Very clean. very nice The moldy carpet has finally been torn up and replaced with vinyl wood like planks. It's also been painted and the bathroom expanded and remolded. However, - and I don't know if it was just this room I stayed in or if it wasn't completely finished. --There was no room for anything. No counter space to put anything down. If the tv was mounted on the wall at least there would have been a desk and room on the desk/counter. It used to have a stove and oven, but that's been replaced with a 2 burner counter top unit. If you need to bake anything you are out of luck. Although it does have a small microwave on the counter. there's no table or chairs to sit and eat anything. You would have had to sit on the bed to eat. No small sofa or chair to sit on either. I ended up putting my suitcase on the other bed and my other items on the ironing board (no suitcase holder) I brought in one of the 2 plastic chairs from the balcony and the small plastic table so I could sit and eat . Otherwise the only place to sit was on one of the beds as the other one held my suitcases. If there was 2 people, I have no idea where you would put anything or where you would sit to eat. I would stay here again but I would make sure it had chairs and tables before I booked . read more

We went for the weekend, with another couple. They got an ocean front with 2 queen beds and a kitchenette. We could not get the same size room. So we got a queen suite with a full kitchen, ocean front. I called specifically to be sure we would be in adjoining rooms or at least on the same floor. Oh yes we can do that. We ended up on the ground floor and they were on the 4th floor. Our room was nasty. I thought well whatever it will be ok for a night or so, we just know next time... then when I got you in the middle of the night Saturday and turned the light on.... roaches.. may little coach roaches. We were checking out in the nothing so I thought I would go tell them at the front office..I proceed to tell the last at the front office there were roaches in our room she said you should have told us, we would have moved you. Lived in Florida most of my life. If they Are in one room they are in that whole building.. to some degree... not an apology.. not a discount.. nothing.
