I've been…read moreto Hubbard many times, even with being familiar with the area; still ended up missing the street to enter the park. For a small town, and an older park was quite impressed on how clean it was and the emmenties that were provided with each shelter. I'm not sure on if all the shelters were the same; but Shelter 4, had enough picnic benches to accomate small or large parties. The shelter itself; was amazing two working fridges, a sink, bathroom and even a counter space area. The shutter wood latch and enclosure of the actual shelter stood out the most for me. The picnic was a wonderful event; and even the area local news stoper by to hilight, Ann Curtin..Happy 100th Birthday...relaxing, celebration happy to have attended and been invited. This place is just what the doctor ordered. Clean, peaceful surroundings make the Lily Pond a great place to relax, take pictures, and enjoy a little quiet time. There are areas which you can get close to the water and see the schools of fish and turtles . There is also a relatively new footbridge that's been installed. Although not the most secure feeling structure, it fits the bill. Overall, a great place to just relax.

Such a great find!…read more This place was easy to find (just searched on google maps) and had decent parking. It wasn't overcrowded and we didn't have to fight anyone for parking. I came here with friends on a Friday afternoon and the place was beautiful. It is early November and the trees along the water were super scenic and made for great pictures! There are several trails around the water and all the ones we took were beautiful. There are some trails that are paved. Others along the water were dirt and potentially a little muddy, but still very walkable. This place seems family, dog, and kid friendly. You can adjust the trails you choose very easily, as they all loop around the creek. Also, there is a small educational center that would be good for kids to teach them about the local wildlife.

Like most layouts of this ilk, there are some incredibly bad holes due to the development layout. And those holes of course are strangled by trees. Reasonable rates and a decent setting make it worth a play or two a year.

The Western Reserve Greenway Trail runs on a north-south axis from Ashtabula to Warren, OH. It is…read morebuilt on a former Penn Central Railway, which was abandoned in 1976. Having ridden just about every major trail in Western Pennsylvania, my husband Rick and I decided to give this one a try. We started at the southernmost trail parking lot, just north of Warren, OH. Please note that the address I gave you is the lot's approximate address, based on Google Maps. The trail continues for a bit south of here, going past the golf course. The trail here is just west of Mosquito Lake State Park. Please note that there are deer in the area. While they're quite shy and prefer to run away from you, they've been known to dart across the path. Continuing further north, the trail skirts the western edge of the Mosquito Creek State Park and Wildlife Refuge Area. Here's a good place to stop and take some photos. It's also a good place to stop and have a snack break. Several miles north of Mosquito Creek is the Orwell Wildlife Area. Here's another good spot to get some photos as the trail cuts right through the park. Further north is the town of Rock Creek, OH. Here the trail detours on the city streets, which are not in the best of condition although the detour is well marked. Rock Creek is also the approximate half way point between Warren and Ashtabula. Because Rick and I aren't quite up to doing century rides, we turned around here and headed back. So what's this Yinzer Babe's (who's used to riding on some rather mountainous trails) impression? It's a peaceful trail to ride, and though it may lack the scenery of the Ghost Town Trail or the Great Allegheny Passage, the rural Ohio landscape is pleasant. The trail has several road crossings, including some major state and U.S. highways. The sightlines at these crossings are quite good, however, and you should have no problem getting across. Just be aware that there are no places to obtain water or food (a must if you're a type-1 diabetic like me). So be sure to bring adequate provisions along for the ride.
