There was so much hairspray in her hair that it looked like snakes coming out of the back of her head. I had to take her to another salon and have it completely taken down and redone. Not even an instructor at Scott's came to look at it before she was sent out the door. Side note- I understand that these people are students and have quotas to make, but they need to have better instruction and supervision. For the price I paid to have my daughter's hair done twice, next year I'll skip the college and stick to a regular salon.

I started school here in the beginning of April, my first day we dove right into testing and book…read morework but I didn't even receive a book for at least 6 weeks. I remember thinking that this was unusual but just tried to pull through. When I completed the core theory coarse with all the obstacles such as no books I moved onto the practical coarse. I had a rude awakening!!!! I sat in class for weeks starring at myself in a mirror because the owner Joe Mamone wouldn't give me my kit to learn the hands on portion. After sitting there tired due to being a working mother I realized things weren't right, especially for the money they charge. In that time my instructor spent most of her time painting her nails or booking vacations instead of teaching us. We had to beg for trash bags and then be denied even small things like that to fill his trash cans (weird), then at one point an instructor took a pair of gloves out of the trash washed them off and have them to a student to do a service on a client due to not being provided with gloves let alone trash bags. I realized I will not be paying for a trash education for that money. I dropped out after begging for my personal file and never getting a response let alone something that is mine and by law should be provided to me at any time. I went to elite academy of hair design and was informed I had to start completely over due to not being taught . Don't make the mistake I made!!! Don't trust Scott College Of Cosmetology!!!! Now I'm being threatened financially by Scott's to pay them for something I never received. Also the day I walked out of Scott's as a senior on the floor I yet to receive even a hair dryer. There is so much more that happened but it's too much to type end result I wasted time away from my child, cut back at work, miles on my car, being harassed daily by crack heads in wheeling , and lost all that time to gain nothing from this school. Yeah same thing I did the gas and oil class and cdl still haven't got a job besides moving…read morecompany's that will let me drive their trucks so then I went to their welding program nice welding shop all new equipment great adult evening teacher couldn't ask for a better one but the problem is the morning teacher is an asshole and everyone u come in the afternoon shits always different the school can somehow afford like 300,000 worth of new equipment but when you take your certification tests it took them over 4 months to get my tests tested came in everyday to just see my tests sitting there they do nothing about it you talk to them about it they just blow you off there's absolutely no communication with the main office and the adult students show up on days the schools closed you nor the teacher are ever aware of wasting my time and money to drive all the way there just to turn around. Horrible place wouldn't recomend this school to anybody they also don't care about you at all all they want is your money then they couldn't care less if you came or not HORRIBLE HORRIBLE school don't waste your time or money

Well I will tell you there are a few people that will have a job in less than a month, but my class there was only 1 guy that got a job in less than a month. They tell you that you have to have the Commercial Drivers License (CDL) before a company in the gas industry will even look at your application. That is a lie. The bigger companies if they want you to have different training or a CDL they will pay for the classes and pay you to get it. Now I have talked with quite a few guys that have went through the program. We got on the topic of tution cost that Western Area Career and Technology Center charges for the program. To our suprise we all paid different amounts. Myself paid full price $7995.00. The one guy paid $5000.00 and went through all the same classes as I did. He did show me recipt and certificates to prove it. There are some guys that did pay full price same as me. There were others that only paid $6000.00 So I dont know but when I did hear this I was very upset. I will not recommend that anyone attend there. There are CDL outfits that will train you for half the price. So my advice to anyone going to oil and gas industry go fill out applications and save your money on school. If you dont want to do that you can go to temp agencies and get hired into the gas industry. I will also tell you gas companies hire through temp agencies. So conclusion stay away from Western Area Career and Technology Center (RIP OFF)

STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY! Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!!!!!! A terrible place to give your money…read moreor to use your grant from Work Force. I BEG you to choose another school! The CDL A class is four weeks long, the first 2 weeks in the classroom to prepare you for your permit then the 3rd and 4th week driving the truck.....BUT YOU DON'T GET TO DRIVE THE TRUCK!!!!! You only get to drive the truck 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the afternoon, because they have so many students backed up on the truck....and by drive the truck I mean you back it up for two weeks. After the 4th week of class, no one can possibly pass the test and the next class of students is right up behind you and now just more students on the truck. So, they will tell you that they will call you to get you more time on the truck but they have zero intentions of doing so. Then this goes on until the student quits, which is what they prefer so they don't have to deal with you complaining about getting more time on the truck. Every student there is paid for by the state so the school just strings you along until you leave. That is their go to! That is their mojo! BS BS BS BS until you leave, week after week after week. And they win most of the time because no one pays out of pocket and it makes it easier to walk away. If you self pay, it's the same deal! STAY AWAY, THE BUSINESS IS HORRIBLE AND NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED! Also, the instructor smokes in the truck, so you have to endure second hand smoke all the while.

I have really been impressed with Kester's Dance studio since my daughter enrolled there 5 years…read moreago. She was at another studio for 6 years before switching to Kester's. She truly has blossomed into quite a dancer since making the change. I have seen tremendous improvement in her development since changing studios. I don't know if that is because she has gotten older or because she simply had better teachers at the new studio. Either way, you can't go wrong with Kester's studio to teach your child how to dance.
