DLSU has three "canteens." Well, I don't really count some of them as real canteens, but you get the idea. Perico's is easily the best out of the three, mostly because it is pretty much a full-fledged restaurant. Just like any other restaurant, there are servers who go around to give you your meals, and they cook it upon order. They also have pre-cooked ulam and rice combos like other canteens, but I normally go for their more resto-type dishes.
Perico's is located near the South Gate (or "main entrance") of DLSU, and it looks just like a really huge restaurant upon entering. On the counter, you're greeted by a smorgasboard of choices, and then some. There's dishes that aren't even on the menu and can only be found stuck onto the counter itself. You can find everyhting from Kani Salad to Beef Teppan to Spaghetti with Meatballs. Most of them taste pretty good - I particularly like the Spaghetti. At first, it may seem weird that it's one of the most expensive things on the menu, but given how huge the meatballs are and how generous portion is, and the fact that it tastes pretty damn great too, you begin to realize why. I think there's a reason why whenever the school invites external guests, they always opt to have Perico's cater the meals. My only real problem with Perico's from a student's point of view is that the WiFi here isn't great, but that's really just nitpicking. It's pretty damn useful to have a variety of food choices in a single place in the confines of the campus. read more
