Edwards Transmission

I was in the area for work and my transfer case went out in my truck. I callEd Edwards around…read more8:45am. They had a wrecker to pick up my truck 30 minutes away. At 4:10pm the same day my truck was ready, and have not had a single issue. There is places that more time to change oil and rotate tires that they took to replace a transfer case and test drive a vehicle. If I ever have transmission issues again, if possible I will have them do the work!

I highly recommend NOT to go here. The pictures that you see are a after result of going there…read moreturns out my truck really only had bad spark plugs and coils cause the intake manifold was leaking was told it was transmission well after 4,300 dollars later they told me they put a used transmission in while I thought I was getting a rebuild. I was upset but I said okay it's fine I guess still had problems with my torque converter main seal leaking well brought it back to them 3-4 times turns out they never replaced it they just added transmission oil back where it leaked out and glued the main seal with super glue and gasket seal. Found out by bringing it to another mechanic. Well they said I still had problems with my engine at the time I got it fixed but still did not address fixing the problems if there where any that it caused to fix it while under warranty. I believe they did this knowing if they fixed it they would have to come out of pocket for the expenses. Where am I now exactly I'm out of warranty and my transmission I believe went out today and leaked out all the transmission fluid from where they glued it at. Truthfully I feel hassled. I'm not one to post anything about a business but when you spend that much money and nothing is done about it you understand where I'm coming from. Be aware of this scam I recommend going to twin city over ever coming hear. Cause now I'm in a bind with no truck.

AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care

I went in with questions about my Dodge Ram and it not shifting right. They were able to see the…read moreproblem and were able to make the adjustments without having to replace the transmission as another store would. I saved money and now have a place that I can take my truck to if it ever acts up again. The price I paid for the repair was less than the quoted price of replacing the transmission. I appreciate the care I received and will return again.

Our experience with AAMCO Transmission and Total Car Care has been less than satisfying…read more We initially took our 2005 F-150 to them in December to have the transmission replaced -- a $5,500 repair. In February, we had to take it back because it was having issues shifting into overdrive. They told us it needed a new solenoid motor -- another $560 out of pocket. Two weeks later, the dashboard lit up with transmission fault errors, sending us back to AAMCO for a third visit. They kept the truck for almost a month and ended up replacing the transmission again under warranty. When they finally called to tell us it was ready, they casually mentioned that the truck was overheating -- and even asked us if it had any overheating problems before bringing it to them (it absolutely did not). They told us we "wouldn't make it very far" with it overheating like it was -- but at that point, after waiting weeks already, my husband told them he would pick it up and handle it himself. It took us two hours to get it home because we had to stop every few miles to let it cool down. Once we got it home, we opened the hood and discovered the battery wasn't even bolted down -- it was just sitting loose, and there was NO transmission fluid even registering in the dipstick! We took the truck to a local shop near us for a second opinion and found out AAMCO had never flushed the radiator or transmission cooler when replacing the transmission -- a critical step to prevent overheating and protect the new transmission. That oversight cost us another $650 to have corrected properly. Communication throughout this entire ordeal was poor at best -- calls were not returned in a timely manner, updates were hard to get, and overall we feel like the quality of work was extremely lacking. We've now spent over $6,700 dealing with transmission issues because of this shop -- not including the lost time, stress, and frustration. We would strongly caution anyone considering AAMCO Transmission and Total Car Care to get a second opinion before trusting your vehicle here. Based on our experience, we absolutely would not recommend them.
