The fly in our ointment with regards to our wedding
Now before I list Dawns many faults I will say the flowers looked nice however they were not what we wanted which on your wedding day can be very annoying
Firstly we booked Dawn in February to provide flowers and various other bits for a wedding at the end of April, we went to her house and discussed our wants and agreed exactly what we wanted providing in April. The first mistake Dawn made was as simple as giving me the incorrect bank details for payment, however instead of telling me this she waited for me to get in touch and ask if she has received the money, then we had to wait for the funds to bounce back into my account before we could pay.
Everything went quiet for a few weeks which was fine everything was agreed and we figured everything was ordered and ready to go, we figured wrong part of our top table design was supposed to be three small bird cages matching the big ones we had on the other tables, three days before the wedding a phone call comes she cant get the small bird cages, the question has to be asked why this was so close to the wedding this problem was discovered? however she could get some lanterns that match is this ok, obviously we agreed it was too close to the wedding to do anything else.
The night before the wedding the flowers start to arrive but alas they are not right we had specified Ivy for part of the arrangements as it was on the cake design and the bouquet we had shown Dawn wanting the same design, when we asked her about it we got a very abrupt reply saying no we are wrong about what we had said, anyone getting married knows a bride doesn't make this type of mistake, this is from the same woman who on the day before the wedding a few hours earlier had phoned up as she didn't know what the bridesmaids flowers should look like!!! She never apologised for this. The lanterns looked fine from a distance had icicle shapes on them when looked at up close, this is a spring wedding.
The day after the wedding it was arranged Dawn would come at half nine to pick up her items and give us our £200 deposit back, typical to form she didn't arrive, at quarter past ten I sent her a text asking where she was, no reply, half ten I phoned which after ringing a few times went to the answering machine, shortly after this I get a text her van has broken down, wouldn't a good supplier have been in touch to say this? plus I cant help but think what if this was on the morning of someone's wedding? So without her arriving we head home with promises that the deposit will be dropped into our house on the way back from picking the things up. Three O'clock comes still no deposit in our hand and nothing from the florist again I get in touch, she's been to the hotel has gone out and didn't bother giving us our money back and oh by the way three things are missing, maybe if we had seen her in the morning we could have helped find them. I ended up going to her to get my money back or I could have waited two days for a bank transfer as I was going on my honeymoon and I had no faith in the florist at this point I went and got the money minus £20 for the missing items.
We wholeheartedly wish we had never used this florist read more
