I simply called to see if they could bake a cake for me for a special occasion and the lady was the rudest person I have ever talked to at a small-owner business. Not recommended unless you want a bad attitude with your order. read more

History

Established in 1987.

The Perfect Touch started as a home-based cake decorating and catering business, concentrating on wedding receptions. As the business grew, we found that our customers wanted more: 1.-to learn to do what we did; 2.- to pick up napkins, plates and candles along with the cake; and 3.-to have ready access to other wedding services besides the cake and serving. We started teaching classes and needed to offer supplies for our students. We added a few paper supplies. And, we started offering invitations. Soon a store-front became a necessity. We enjoy helping customers plan a multitude of special occasions.

Meet the Business Owner: Karen Y.

Life is full of special occasions to celebrate, and I get to help plan and make the celebrations happen. I love sharing the art of cake decorating with my students, and I also take great pleasure in helping a bride pull together the details for her perfect wedding.

Upon arriving we were told we needed to order & pay first (no biggie) & the "seating" was in the tiny little room next to the "kitchen, entry way". The little table was just that - LITTLE. There was another table in the room w/things on it & we asked if we could put the 2 together. We were told NO. The person that gave us the bad news said that large groups just wasn't part of the "vibe" "business model"...or something to that affect. There was NO WAY all the place settings for 6 women would have fit on that tiny table...which btw would have been perfect for 2, but no more than 4, people. Needless to say, we left & went elsewhere. Stupid move. I was looking forward to purchasing some of their home made pasta & other goodies, as well as the other ladies. I WILL NEVER GO BACK.

They use a special organic flour, according to the guy that worked there, so maybe that's why everything tasted so good. Their sourdough loaf was perfect, and I'm thankful to have something like this so close to home.

We bought a beautiful sourdough loaf and a couple of oatmeal cream pies which were delightful, even the next day! The only downside is the hours, they are only open a couple hours every day and not open every day so usually I can't go but hopefully with more business they'll have more availability! Love having a local bakery! Go check it out!

His classroom was a relaxed environment where I could focus on my work and enjoy my music without disturbance. He offered opportunities for creativity and freedom for students to make calls on their projects. When I was nearing to exit the program, he gave me some reality checks about how the world would be outside of class and how it would be owning my own place. Mr. Means gave me good life skills and drafting skills and because of that, I was able to start my own business going successful for 2 years.
