Also, scheduling appointments and payments through insurance/ co-payment are easy and clearly explained. Finally, after two different terrible dental experiences in Denver, I found an honest and…read moretrustworthy practice to patron. Rocky Mountain Dental Group was referred to me by my coworker whose husband has been going there for years, and she spoke very highly of them - I am glad I took her word! Due to the first unfortunate incident, I hadn't had my teeth cleaned in about a year - though all my life I've been diligent about visiting the dentist every 6 months - so when I went to my last dentist I was hoping to remedy the situation and get back on track. However, the hygienist supposedly diagnosed me with early periodontal disease and claimed I would need a series of "deep cleanings," which I found out would not be covered by insurance, and would cost me about $1200 over a years worth of cleanings. I never had any issues with my teeth, and neither the dentist or hygienist explained to me what my symptoms were or made any attempt to help me understand what they saw that led them to this conclusion. I was already skeptical after leaving so decided to call back and schedule a regular cleaning (since I didn't even get one while I was there) and they informed me I would be explained the dangers of refusing their deep cleaning treatments and have to sign a waiver of all responsibility if I didn't go through with it. Well needless to say that really made me question their motives, so I searched for a second opinion. Immediately when I called Rocky Mountain Dental Group they made me feel comfortable. The woman I spoke to was incredibly friendly and helpful, and even got my x-rays from the previous dentist with ease. I was able to get an appointment within a week of when I called. My hygienist, Dave, was wonderful - he almost immediately dismissed the idea that I had periodontal disease and explained to me exactly how to determine the symptoms of the disease via my x-rays. He conducted a thorough exam of my mouth and explained to me every step of the way what he was doing and why. He said his job is to educate his patients and I really appreciated that. I now feel like I can avoid being taken advantage of again with claims of periodontal disease. The doctor also examined my teeth and assured me that I had no issues to be concerned about other than some minor gingivitis. They didn't push any unnecessary procedures, made sure I was comfortable the entire time, and went above and beyond in answering all my questions and concerns. I highly recommend Rocky Mountain Dental Group and am so relieved I finally found an honest, smart, and responsible dental practice.

Dr. Goldman has been great so far - good sense of humor, which I always appreciate. My x-rays were as terrible as ever (my fault, but man, someday I hope they make them not gigantic and gag you the whole time) but the hygienist Robbie was nice and tried to make it as tolerable as she could. I had to get some fillings done on a second visit and I was able to choose laughing gas for the procedure which I think helped. Dr. Goldman also numbed my mouth a bit first before giving me novocaine which definitely made the shots way less painful (I didn't cry, so that's telling you it was a success). After I was done, some of the fillings weren't smoothed out (since my mouth was numb and I couldn't tell right away) but I was able to go back (no charge) and he filed them down so my bite returned to normal which only took about 10 minutes. The office and staff are very friendly - at my first appointment I did a whole intake with Cheyenne (I think that's her name) and even said I forgot to take advil, and she brought me some! Overall happy with the vibes, staff, and work here. I will not be posting pics of my teeth, you're welcome :)

I feel compelled to edit my original review for Rippe Dental down to one star despite a front…read moreoffice staff and hygienists that are very friendly, courteous and professional (Cassidee in particular). The fact is, cleanings and routine exams are great when they go as planned, but the real test occurs when you have actual dental work performed. To that end, Rippe fails beyond measure. There were red flags too, but sadly, I ignored or missed them. First was when my wife told me that she had a dentist try and upsell her on additional work and then it was my daughter telling me that she was both shamed for not actively flossing enough (I believe she said 4 times) and being manhandled by her dentist during an exam (her description). We joked about it, but it was likely an indicator of something being off. Looking back, I wish I didn't brush off these two incidents because it apparently was a trend considering what happened to me, and caused me to find a new dentist. The dentist I was working with informed me that I had a small cavity underneath a previously put in crown and that the cavity needed to be filled. I hesitated because I had symptoms other than food being trapped occasionally. Annoying, but not enough to warrant the procedure. When I mentioned that, the dentist told that if I didn't do it, I would eventually require a root canal. Thus, I did the procedure for a little under $2k. Unfortunately, about a week later, I felt pain when I bit into something hard, plus the tooth was sensitive to hot or cold foods/drinks, which wasn't the case prior to the procedure. Thus, I contacted my dentist and was told to come back in. The dentist said the crown was put in well with no obvious issues, and suggested that I take prednisone and he filed down my mouthguard (for snoring) because he thought the snug fit might be irritating the tooth a bit. He also mentioned that I still might need a root canal after the procedure. I wish I said something right then, but I was too stunned to respond. My only thought was, you told me I needed this procedure to avoid a root canal and following the procedure.....I need a root canal? So, I took the prednisone and used the modified mouthguard, but nothing improved. Then, I received an email from Rippe stating that it had been a month since the procedure and asking me for a review or something like that. I responded by saying they really don't want me leaving a review at this time. Accordingly, I received a phone call from the office administrator, who was pleasant enough, and told me that Dr. Rippe would look at my x-rays and get back to me. She called a few hours later and told me that Dr. Rippe thought it was a large cavity that was sitting near a nerve so this happens occasionally. Again, I was stunned and told her that the other dentist said it was a small cavity, didn't mention anything about proximity to a nerve, and never once mentioned that it was possible that I might still need a root canal after the procedure. Had I been told any of this, I might have had reasonable expectations going in, may have inquired about a root canal instead, or at least have made an informed decision. I was also surprised that Dr. Rippe couldn't be bothered to hop on the phone himself to discuss, but I guess he was too busy. In the end, the administrator said that perhaps they could have done a better job explaining the procedure and potential outcomes, but in no way took any responsibility, and they basically said that dental work occasionally exposes underlying issues. I was completely turned off by the lack of empathy or responsibility taken, which prompted me to move my family to a new practice. When I shared my experience with my new dentist, she was shocked. Now, I just don't want another family to experience what we did, so if you start hearing an upselling pitch, consider it your first red flag. I also expect a response to this review from Rippe suggesting that I'm in the wrong again or that something other than what actually happened, happened. Regardless, good luck to all patients with your care. Not sure why my name is showing up as being from SF, but I'm a local here in CO.

I am hoping this is not now the new norm here? Also the very reason I'm writing this. I came in for a crown which had a cavity under it. The first appointment went fine, all of the drilling, scans, temporary crown etc. Three weeks later I come for the placement of the new permanent crown! Was in the chair for 2.5 hours. Was finally told the new crown was wrong, and I would need new scans and another temp. I had mentioned that I had another appointment, and was assured it was going to be fast. The dentist left and said she would be back in 10 min. After 30 more, I finally left the room to ask the hygienist how much longer it would be. She said the dentist was in a surgery, so she took the x-ray into her so that she could approve her to make the temp so that I could leave. Thankful for her doing that, and just asked for a different dentist for the next time. Two weeks later, my next appointment went exactly the same way. 2 hours and they finally blamed the lab..and another temp was placed. I was patient and friendly and tried to understand each time. Three weeks later...I was greeted very abruptly by the person that took me into the room, the dentist came in and did not even hardly address or speak to me. After putting it in my mouth for a moment, he left the room. She did a few things, and then handed me a paper to sign stating I would be happy with it. I asked why when I was never asked this before with the other ones, and I wasn't sure I was happy with it because it wasn't even in my mouth yet. I felt like they were rude and just wanted to get rid of me. I was never even the one complaining, there was a problem and that's why they could never get it to fit and took so many hours each time trying. not only did I leave each out the money, with another temporary in my mouth. None of that was my fault. So, if this is how they treat people when it was their lab that was the consistent problem....I definitely thought the final treatment was worthy of a negative review! I definitely did NOT feel like I was in good hands here! On the hunt for a new caring dentist.
