History
Established in 2015.
Perfect Technician Academy was created to further expound upon the heating, air conditioning and electrical contracting business originally known as A.M.E.S., Inc. Established by Philip and Linda Hobson in 1961, A.M.E.S., Inc. served clients in Mineral Wells, Texas.
Mr. Hobson was instrumental in the implementation of the Texas State Licensing for Air Conditioning Contractors. In fact, he still holds one of the lowest numbered licenses (386) that is still active in the state of Texas.
Within three years, A.M.E.S., Inc. was a Carrier dealer and the name changed to Hobson Air Conditioning, Inc. Additional service counties now included Parker, Palo Pinto and Hood.
By 1978, distributorship included Grumman Corporation Solar Products serving Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and New Mexico. Setting a precedent in solar power, Hobson proudly installed the solar system for the University of Texas at Arlington Solar Home.

Meet the Manager: Thomas M.
Dr. Thomas Moorman serves as the Provost and School Director for the Perfect Technician Academy, a trade school in Weatherford Texas. He previously served as the Vice Provost, Academic Initiatives at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Moorman's has a long tenure with the institution which he has served since August of 1991. He has moved through the ranks at the UNT Health Science Center beginning as a Student Development Coordinator 25 years ago and culminating in this latest post. His most recent position was as Vice President for Student Affairs where he was honored with the organization's inaugural 'Valubility" Award for exemplifying the institution's values in all aspects of his life. Many other accolades and honors have been earned by Dr. Moorman while at UNTHSC including; Edward E.
