What a great and affordable meal!…read more I was with 6 other friends, so we proceeded to order a significant portion of the menu. And it was all really good. But the fan favorite was the Mix Grill (lamb fillet, lamb kofta, shish taouk Jawaneh, and shawerma served with chips and rice). We did not leave hungry. And when we got the bill, I was amazed at the price! So affordable. Definitely worth a try.

A visiting pal from San Francisco and I joined a regular here for dinner and he took care of all the ordering. I enjoyed everything we ate but one dish in particular stood out: Farrouj Abou Zaad. These three words I scarcely know how to pronounce must mean "over the top tasty." Or maybe the translation is grilled boneless baby chicken? Whatever the case, the farrouj abou zaad (grilled boneless baby chicken) is some of the most incredible chicken to ever pass my lips. It is served with a divine salsa-like tomato sauce that makes you want to lick the container it comes in. The baklava we ended our meal with made me reconsider every syrupy, unappetising baklava I've had in the past (and my stance on not liking it.) This stuff was flaky, light and absolutely worth going back for. Make sure to order mint tea to go with it. Why fly to Syria when you can take the tube to Shepherd's Bush Market and come to Abu Zaad instead?

"This little spot is like a shimmering oasis in a residential desert."…read more Great prices, authentic dishes, and BYOB! A delicious meal in a a cozy casual atmosphere. It's one of the few places in the area that isn't "carry out only" and the food is really fresh. I especially enjoyed the soups. We ordered Thom Kha Kai, and a glassy noodle soup, to start. Both soups were totally "mmmmm"-worthy. When my fiancee requested a beer, the snarky waiter directed him to the quickie mart next door. He was completely condescending about the whole thing when we asked "So, can we bring the beers in here?" His response "Why would i tell you about it if you couldn't?!" - I was starving and didn't want to risk having a bad food experience so I decided to pretend I was in an episode of Seinfeld and just ignore it. It was the right decision, because when our entrées arrived, they were quick, fresh, and delicious. I ordered the pad see ew, and my fiancée had the red curry. Both totally satisfying. I think I would order something else next time, but it was good. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone in the neighborhood, but don't make a special trip for it. It would be perfect for a casual dinner meet up with a few friends. And the idea of bringing your own bottle of wine, is actually quite a positive in my opinion.

Everyone loved the halloumi appetizer, and we got a variety of meats for the meal. Everyone loved them. The lamb lollipops were the biggest hit, with the mince lamb kebabs in a close second. The staff was very kind and helpful in guiding our choices. There was plenty of food and we had leftovers for breakfast. It was very laid back, we were in casual travel clothes and felt fine. Some families were definitely a little dressier. Very convenient location and worth a tube ride!

Between our table of 18+ people, we got quite a large bit of the menu to try. They pay attention to detail here, which is really nice, stopping by to make sure you have enough condiments and everything is ok. The toum was a favorite at our table being that it was a newer experience for many. The vibe here is really nice and warm. Every table across the room had happy faces. I got the chicken shawarma and just like all the other plates, it was a larger than average portion and the flavor was really good. This restaurant did a great job and I would recommend going here if you have a large group with something to celebrate.

You have to be waited to be seated but we had no issue at prime dinner time. Atmosphere is of a causal restaurant. Menu is accessible via a QR code and you can order the mean for the table and pay for it via the website on your mobile. Food is then delivered to your table. I got the 1/4 chicken with side of broccoli and peas and an extra side of their chips. I was told that we can order the 1/4 chicken in thing or breast but the app did not have an option for it. The head waiter said he can verbally ask the kitchen to do a breast for me but at the end I got a thigh. I didn't want to make a fuss and wait for a breast so I ate the 1/4 chicken thigh that was super small. I highly urge anyone considering this to get 1/2 chicken. The peas was nothing to write home about and I would avoid next time. I also got the broccolini which were delish. The chips were different and nothing special and I am glad I got a small size as it was enough for the 3 of us to try. My wife got the Caesar salad with chicken breast. I don't thrill she was very happy with it and it didn't look particularly appetizing. My son was happy with his double breast meal. We all agreed that the best tasting item was the halloumi cheese appetizer. I would give this place a solid 3. Although my son thought it was a 4 and we just didn't order the right stuff ;)

I liked that there were several different options for sides and sauces!
