My wife just returned from an appointment at this office, and first, let us say that the dentist she did see was very friendly and professional, and so was the hygienist. However, BEWARE OF THE OFFICE MANAGEMENT! My wife provided our insurance, and when she was told a procedure would cost $400, she asked the manager if it was covered by insurance. The office manager said, and we quote, "Yes. Don't worry." But when she left? She was told to pay a $400 bill. She paid the bill, but clearly the management of this office was not at all being honest with her. Furthermore, when she had called to make the original appointment she specifically asked for a particular dentist, but when she arrived she was told "Oh, h retired". Been waiting 2 hours for a cleaning and still sitting in the chair waiting. I've never been to a business/establishment that has been this unprofessional and discoordinated. Everyone in this office is all over the place from yelling to one another to grab tools to running in and out of rooms to different patients at a time & etc. Place doesn't seem to be the cleanest either and i'm sure I won't be coming back. HORRIBLE OFFICE! My 81 year old father has now had to go back and forth for a denture implant that should on average take up to 4 months to situate. Aside from this lengthy and awful experience, the dentist Dr. George Favetta, has been nothing but rude, nasty, and at times aggressive with my elderly father. At one point his denture implant which should be mobile, was cemented in leaving my father with no other choice but to suffer for 2-weeks in pain until he can be seen again in the office. Magdelena was the only respectful dental assistant who visited my father at his home after hours out of the kindness of her heart to try and remove the implant herself with no success. The office manager Valerie, is never available to assist with this entire debacle and when he asks to speak to her he was told "she is busy." WE DO NOT RECOMMEND ONE BIT! Stay far AWAY! read more

First dentist I've ever felt forced to review. Worst dentist-related experience I have ever had, and I don't think it will be beat. I am not sure of my dentist's name, but he was the main problem. He told me like 7 (mostly sexually, and one racially) inappropriate jokes. At least this was when he was mostly done with my cleaning. He didn't seem to pay much attention to my x-rays, and he was talking so much about random things that I had to cut in to ask my DENTAL related questions. The person doing my x-rays actually admitted to me she was rushing, and she cut my tongue with the x-ray thing that they put in your mouth that you have to bit down on. Yes, I made noise, no she didn't care. Was only apparent I had cut it later on when it hurt to move in certain ways, and I could look in a mirror. The staff had me waiting for a decent amount of time, and it seemed to just be because someone was filling in/forgot about me, but that I can forgive. I can't forgive the rest. Wish I could give -2 stars. OH! Almost forgot. They have a nasty hygiene situation in their bathroom. Why is there an open dispenser of mouthwash for patients to use? What? I would never recommend this office to anyone. I went in asking about a mouth piece for sleeping because I have extreme jaw pain from clenching due to my epilepsy and was completely ignored. They didn't listen to what I was asking and pressed me for more expensive procedures. The office staff themselves are extremely unorganized and very pushy. I repeatedly told them I do not like antibiotics unnecessarily and they continued to push me throughout the appointment. It got to the point where I felt so uncomfortable and pressured that I said yes. Little did I know that they were pushing it so hard because it was over 1000$. Which I was never told until I got the bill. I went in prepared to spend 500$ and walked out with a 2,500$ bill. Once I received the 500$ mouth guard, it started chipping and was completely garbage within two weeks. When I went back to pick up the replacement, it cracked as soon as I put it in. The lead hygienist said she was going to send it to a different lab in New York this time and it will be better. I came back again for my 3rd mouth guard only to have the same exact mouth guard simply repaired in the cracked spot from the same lab. As soon as I put it in it cracked AGAIN. Upon this development, she told me I had to take the mold to the lab in keansburg and figure it out myself. Imagine paying 2500$ and having to do the leg work too. So I went and the man there was very nice actually. He told me that it kept breaking because the office staff wasn't putting it in and fitting it correctly. He had me bite on impression paper and do test bites which they never did at any of the three office visits. Additionally he said that I wasn't even a good candidate for a night guard because my bite is so close and hard. I have contacted them multiple times about making it right and they have ignored me. I am still in agonizing pain everyday and they did nothing but waste my time and money. So go at your own risk, but be warned they are only concerned about your money not your health and well being. read more

This office is completely unorganized and poorly run. The staff is NOT friendly. One staff member called me by the wrong name TWICE, and another didn't even call me by my name...just said, "hello, yea, you." Umm, excuse me? The doctor I had was late, and completely unprofessional. When I took my mask off he made a few comments about how good looking I was, it was weird and uncomfortable. He had his mask over his mouth but not his nose. He continued to make a bunch of jokes but wasn't focused on why I was there, for my mouth. They called me to tell me my device was in, and to schedule an appointment. Well, I waited in the office for 40 minutes only for them to tell me the device wasn't in. When I think about my experience few things come in mind: office staff argues in front of patients, not super friendly when asked for detailed bill of services that has been done and prepaid (just cc receipt), charges are incorrect with insurance coverage and staff looked frustrated with me pointing it out, dental staff takes random breaks in 3 hours during my appointment staff took three 15 minute break (when doctor was asking for one of the techs)! As to dental staff, let's start with: my cleaning took only 9 minutes to be completed (speechless) and dental hygienists almost took another round of X-rays telling me that I need new films, when I have just done it exactly 5 days ago during my 1st visit as new patient, after realizing she was incorrect her response was "I don't know why she told me to take it" hmmmm.... right! My cleaning was painful and ruff with each tooth absolutely bleeding during the scraping, no flossing was done post cleaning, meanwhile I am spitting blood while rinsing, no mouthwash solution available ether just simply water. After I was told to get outside her office in a waiting area chairs and to wait to be seated in another exam room to be seen by my Dr. Doctor came in into the office few minutes after I was seated in a chair, proceeded with shots to make sure no pain during my root canal procedure, left room for no kidding 35-40 min to do dental work next room, came back when my anesthesia started to wear off, tried to work on my tooth and of course I was now in pain so he gave more anesthesia shots and yet again left my room for yet again 30-40 min with me sitting in a chair alone while dental hygienists keep coming in and out of my exam room to grab random supplies! Let's not forget no dental assistant to do any water/suction cleaning during procedure or any assistance, no OSHA regulation on eye wear protection, wasn't offered any at all (most dental offices provide this PPE to prevent any infection from dental work debris during dental procedures), my face was covered with dental debris! Dr. keep yelling out of the room asking for things (during procedure) from dental assistant, on what some times he will get an answer "if we have it" or "what about this size" . Total time spent in the chair 3-4 hours with Dentist work actually done 1-1,5H for one root canal and 3 appointments for the same root canal! I have never seen doctor leave the room during appointment to go ahead and do dental work on patients next room! When Dr asked tech to take films of my tooth/root canal after his work he left me sitting with mouth open and metal things sticking out of my back tooth so I couldn't close my mouth till tech came in 40 MINUTES after was told that he need it done!!! Originaly told one implant will be one visit. Just left my 3rd visit of what could be 7+ visits to get one implant. The train reck behind the front desk is a great up-seller but cant seem to stock the necessary supplies to perform necessary tasks. The doctor prepared me for the implant, and asked for (and needed) a #6 post. The assistant did not have any #6 posts, so they tried a #5. The #5 post was too small and didn't work. The #5 was then removed and I received a second bone graft to fill the hole in my jaw. Finally, the doctor asked for melt-away sutures. Guess what, that's right, none was avalible! So i needs to loose another days pay just to have the stiches removed. So the result of today's visit was another surgery to fix a mistake (in my opinion), two days lost wages for both me and my wife, and ZERO progress on my tooth. Not to menshion more PAIN & SUFFERING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dr. MARCK is excellent, the office manager is who I fault. read more

If I could rate this dentist office negative stars I would. Every single communication and experience I had here was negative and absolutely not professional. It began on the day of my first appointment. As the kind  woman was giving me x-rays she had to go in the other room to find a wire I believe. I have never heard a person being belittled so badly in my entire life. The dental assistant carried on and on about how "not smart" she was. "Open your eyes! Can't you even see? Be a big girl, come on, you can do it." I felt so bad for this woman I actually asked her if she was okay and how often this happened. She was utterly embarrassed and referred to herself as a saint (which I agree she is) for having to put up with this everyday. Momentarily a fight broke out in the main lobby because the practice charged a man for services he didn't know he had to pay for. The yelling and carrying on could be heard through out the entire office for 15 minutes.) however, I have no prior knowledge on what happened and therefor could not form an opinion of the situation. The kind woman unfortunately who did my ex rays did them all incorrectly (which took about 45 minutes) because she was so flustered about being yelled at for so long. When the dentist came in to look at them, she was very confused. Every picture of every took was scattered on the page. Fast forward to my next visit. I was given 2 texts reminders, 2 phone calls and talked to the dental office confirming AGAIN the morning of my visit. 45 minutes before my visit I was called abs told the dentist had an energy and we would have to reschedule. After telling them I confirmed this appointment 5 times the receptionist left abs came back and said, "Never mind, you can come in." When I walked into the office, after sitting down, I could hear the receptionist talking to someone on the phone discussing the prices of my fillings and crown. She hung up and I said. "I was listening to your entire conversation. I heard you saying that the price of my crown (at 50% covered by insurance) was going to be $450. I let her know that on my last visit I was given a quote of $350 that I wrote down. She then processed to call someone back and told me okay. I'm very curious to know what this was all about. She then had be pay before I got my services done. (Fast forward to the end of my visit- I didn't end up getting the crown) and they were unable to give me a refund. They told me to call back the next day for a refund. I asked why can't you do it now? They said often times when they give a refund people are charged twice by accident. I said, can't you write a note to cancel my charge? Why do I need to call you? She said, please just call for a reminder. When I called the next morning at 10:10 after they opened, the woman said she just walked in and needed to get settled. She couldn't do it now, call back later. I told her I was a teacher and couldn't call during the day, she said call after school. Going backward to my visit, the dentist seemed to have the wrong teeth written down that needed to be fixed. I will say this, the actual dentist herself was very nice and had a great temperament and did my fillings great with lots of great advice. I surely hope that she's just hired to work there and this  isn't her actual practice. Fast forward 5 months and I called this practice to have my X-rays sent to a new office. When I called on a Monday morning I was absolutely harassed and told in a yelling tone they must know exactly why I need these x-rays and where they are going. They asked numerous times if I was planning on leaving the practice, and must know what my plan is and if I will be coming back. Then she proceeded to tell me it was a Monday morning and they were so swamped that she would call me back later. When I told her I was a teacher she gave me an email so that I could talk to somebody. After I emailed a woman requesting my X-rays I got an email instantly back saying they were out of the office. When I called back and told them this, she said decided to look herself. Two woman told me they did not have any full set dental records. I actually had to call my insurance company who had to call them. I feel they only gave them to me because I threatened them. Let's just put it this way- every single interaction I've had with the office is an absolute headache. The entire experience was just so unbelievable and unprofessional every single step or the way. I only went here because my dental insurance changed and I wanted someone in town. In my opinion, the practice should be shut down or receive an extreme business makeover. read more

I called last week to make an appointment with a periodonist for a cleaning for me and my wife . At the time I made the appointment, I specified that I only wanted the periodonist to do the cleaning and I was informed that that would not be a problem. The appointment was made for 8/16/23 at 2pm for me and my wife with Dr. Duggal, the periodonist. We arrived at 1:45pm and filled out the paper work. After waiting for approximately, 20 minutes, I was called into the room for my cleaning. After waiting another 20 minutes, the Doctor came into the room. I asked her name and she told that she was Dr. Chan. After I was finished, my wife went in for her cleaning. After 10 minutes, she called me from the room while she was still waiting for the Dr. and informed me that Dr. Chan was a dentist, not a periodonist. At this time, the receptionist asked me how I liked Dr. Chan. I told her that my appointment was with Dr. Duggal, the periodonist and not a dentist. She replied that the periodonist doesn't do the cleanings! After my wife waited another 20 minutes, she left the room without getting her teeth cleaned. Before, we left, I told the receptionist/front desk that my appointment had been with the periodonist not a dentist and if she had informed me that the periodonist didn't do the cleanings, I would have left. I also informed her that she was disengenuous for not informing me. In addition to this "bait and switch tactic" my 2pm appointment time was triple booked. I will not be back! read more

I should have come to my Yelp family before booking. Ugh major fail! First off the office and rooms are friggin filthy. I should have got up and left when I saw pink mold imbedded in the sinks where you spit. There was grime everywhere.....just disgusting I couldn't believe this was an actual office I felt like someone was going to come in and hold a dagger to my throat. I've been to free clinics in the city that were more hygienic than this place in friggin RED BANK on BRAOD STREET no less. I wish I had read all the reviews before going here. Unfortunately my dental insurance assigns me to a dentist and I was a year overdue for a cleaning. Its started bad when I got two different appointments and when I showed up I was not on their schedule. Then when I was scheduled for an afternoon, they called 2 hours before my appointment and asked if I could come in early, which I could not. The hygienist was nice, but seemed angry they asked me to come in early because they could send her home early. She seemed frustrated and overworked. The cleaning was fine, but then they started telling me all the things I needed, none of which I have ever heard before. I was told my insurance will cover a deep cleaning but not the Novocain. I asked how much Novocain would be, they said 24 shots at $100 a shot, $2400!!! For a deep cleaning???? 24 shots??? I had a root canal way back when and two shots numbed my entire side of my face. Then they wanted to sell me on two cavities ( i havent had a cavity in 20 years). Oh and this was the first time in 55 years that a dentist told me I should have my wisdom teeth pulled! They asked me while in the chair if I want to do any of this today and was like heck no. Then at the exit they wanted to schedule all this work and tried to sell me a credit card that I could get with no interest for 24 months. The brochure they handed me said 18 months. The place felt like a scam and felt like I was at a car dealer. I did not feel like I was personally cared for and all they wanted to do was up sell me on things I did not need. This place causes massive head and heart ache. -No handicapped parking in parking lot. -Does not run on time - if you arrive on time you will still wait 30 minutes, and even when they bring you in, you wait another 30, even 40 minutes. -The receptionist at the front (after the door, not at the glass window) pushes employees around in FRONT of the clients and acts rude towards them. Its extremely off-putting. She is pushy, and talks to you like you aren't able to understand important dentist jargon. She acts like she is in charge but the way she handles herself in front of her coworkers and clients is embarrassing for the office as a whole. -They DO NOT return phone calls. They do not forward prescriptions to doctors, and you need to remind them after several calls. The doctor one time gave me a prescription that also included HIS COPY. The pharmacist said this was very unprofessional. -The head dentist here is an odd one. He is even more condescending than the receptionist. He talks down to you. He talks down to his employees (in front of people). He takes his time, but feels the need to NOT EXPLAIN things ever. If you ask questions he becomes impatient and testy. I wouldn't go back to this place if they paid me to. The staff was very impolite and rude. The x-ray tech took about an hour to x-ray my mouth, she dropped the x-ray on the floor and tried to put it back in my mouth. Someone else had to finish doing it for her. The female doctor was ready to pull my teeth and tell me that I had problems going on that is going to be expensive. When I went back for my other appointment (don't ask me why I did.) She was very abrupt and said she had to pull my teeth and it was going to cost me 400.00 and if I had the money she would do it right then and there. They are 14 and 8 years old Just so we are clear as I write this review I'm currently in office . If I could give this horrific place zero stars , I would. My son went there on his own in his young 20's to have his top front two teeth veneered. They were damaged from braces. They rocked him into a 8 thousand dollar contract and shaved down 6 of his teeth so they could sell him Veeneers!! All of those Veeners keep falling off up to and including today. The sign out front says Gentle Dental Care of Monmouth. You write a check to Perfect Smile. You have to pay before you go in to see the dentist. Overbooked! Dental Surgeon doesn't show up for 45 minutes then proceeds to have an argument for another 30 minutes. If you are a patient of Dr Fred from Monmouth Dental, he is only there 2 days a month - he was on time. They called him Captain Kangaroo when he wasn't there - I was there for an appointment and he called in sick. Wasn't told that at first - was told he wanted me to get a cleaning. Feel sorry for him and for some staff. If you prepaid at Monmouth Dental you will not get the work done at Perfect Smile for free. The manager made me an appointment for a free cleaning BUT the hygienist wasn't in that day. So much for that. No handicapped access. Do not go here no matter what they call themselves. read more

I had to make sure this was the correct dentist office. And yes, the address is the same. They now call themselves "The Perfect Smile". Hands down the absolute worst dental organization I have ever experienced. All they want is your money and the quality of the work is horrible. I went in for a whitening and they talked me into a cleaning and then they wanted me to do $3k worth of dental fillings that I had already had done at my other dentist- I only went here for the whitening special, but realized it was just a ploy to get me into the office. It is worse than a used car dealer. AND then- I received an impression and was supposed to get that and additional whitening gel to keep my teeth white and to return the following Monday to pick it up. I called before I went there and they did not know what I was talking about. They said I never had an impression. I told them of course I had the impression because I was there when they put it in my mouth and I was biting down on it for 10 minutes. Well, the obviously lost it and asked me to come back the following Monday. I received a text message on Saturday reminding me of my appointment and on Monday I showed up for my appointment. The office was closed. No one was there, no one answered the phone. I waited for 20 minutes and no one showed up. They then told me, 3 days later, their computers had gone down and there was no way to reach me (and of course it would have been impossible to put a sign on the door). They still owe me an impression and the whitening gel, as I already paid for it, but I will never, ever go back.
